My interview with Vesanto Melina, as you can tell already, was a great one…

In this episode, she talks about how introducing foods at a young age can cause allergies in adults, she explains how you can get calcium from plants and she talks about her own bone health test results over the last 20 years.

On a tech note, if you’re having a little trouble hearing her, grab a pair of headsets and you should be good!

Take a look now…

Your question of the day: What did you think of these last two interviews?

    Awesome interviews!

  2. Dee says:

Really great interviews, I need to go back and listen to them again.

  3. Yakitah says:

    Hi Kev,
I didn’t listen to the other Interviews with
Ms. Melina, However, the one on the Calcium
I really didn’t find it to be that informative, or so interesting.

Though I’m aware that it is better to get your
Calcium from fresh foods veggies that she did
mention, as oppose to pills or calcim Tablets,
because they really may not get absorbed and
    could be full of fillers.

I thought both Melina and Davis were great! So refreshing to hear from mainstream scientific experts (in this case, registered dieticians) who actually know the research well. Thanks, Kevin and Anne Marie!

Unfortunately, I suspect you’ll get fewer comments or feedback on these interviews because they are so balanced, thoughtful, and scientific. However, don’t let this detract from these great interviews.

The only feedback I would have is that I would have liked to here more about a couple of things. One, I would be curious to know what and how much food both are eating raw. Two—and this is the thing that I thought was more obvious to ask and that I was just dying for you to ask—is to have them discuss which versions of raw food diets are adequate (e.g., 80-10-10, Hippocrates, etc.). It would have been so valuable to hear their perspectives as MAINSTREAM scientific experts (cf., the alternative practitioners that you usually interview), as I would give their opinion so much more weight than those “Monday morning nutritionists” and other less well-credentialed people.

But on the whole, it was great. Thanks, Kevin and Anne Marie!

I know that feeding babies food too early is a bad think to do. They can have alergies as children and adult also. Too many doctors are encouraging mothers to feed the babies food way too early. they should be starting food at about a year not one 1, 2 ,3 months. They also should be nursing the babies, if possible. I even took my milk to the hospital for one of my babies.

  6. […] On the other hand, in an interview with Vesanto Melina, she explained that she reversed her bone loss using a plant based diet. (Here’s her story) […]

  7. Susan says:

Thank you Kevin, Vesanto hit the nail on the head, this is not difficult to understand. We get one go in life to care for our bodies. You provide an unbelieveable amount of easy to understand information, through research and interviews, how many times do people need to go around the mountain before they address their health issues and become responsible for their actions.I am a nurse working in palliative care, do people want to live till they die! and contribute to society, or do they want to spend their life slowly dying, till it all becomes too hard.It is sad to see people struggle in many ways at the end.

  8. Gabriela says:

Awesome interview! I really like it when people have been keeping track of data to be able to see if things are working or not. Thanks Kevin!
