Kevin Gianni is a health author, activist and blogger. He started seriously researching personal and preventative natural health therapies in 2002 when he was struck with the reality that cancer ran deep in his family and if he didn’t change the way he was living — he might go down that same path. Since then, he’s written and edited 6 books on the subject of natural health, diet and fitness. During this time, he’s constantly been humbled by what experts claim they know and what actually is true. This has led him to experiment with many diets and protocols — including vegan, raw food, fasting, medical treatments and more — to find out what is myth and what really works in the real world.

Kevin has also traveled around the world searching for the best protocols, foods, medicines and clinics around and bringing them to the readers of his blog RenegadeHealth.com — which is one of the most widely read natural health blogs in the world with hundreds of thousands of visitors a month from over 150 countries around the world.

  1. Charlotte says:

cucumber, celery, fennel, ginger, kale, and cilantro and the juice pf a lemon! So refreshing 🙂

  2. Donaji says:

yummy! celery, cucumber, carrot, lemon, ginger, parsley or cilantro! mmmm…mmmm!

  3. Kai says:

I love cucumber & garlic with a splash of sole (salt solution). So refreshing!

My go-to green juice, however, is celery, apple, kale (or whatever other greens I have on hand- lately I have been adding dandelion), plus a whole lemon.

  4. Sarah says:

Kevin: where do you guys get your seaweed from? (I am so glad you are testing it). I was also wondering if you get it from Mendocino and / or if you have ever tested seaweed from Mendocino? I would love to support the Mendocino seaweed producers but as far as I know none of them do any assay testing of their seaweed for heavy metal toxicity.

  5. Hope says:

Tested….for?? Radiation??? I think you should cover this topic more on your site. I live on the east coast and learned that I-131 is in our local milk, thanks to testing by the Department of Health here… what to do now?? You should put up whole sections on how and what to stock up on–thanks!!

  6. hI there,
I love your shows.I think you guys are super-am on a raw food detox at the moment .My favorite green juice with collard greens, almonds, banana, mixed frozen berries ,guava juice,3 dates.
Hope you enjoy it.My blender is just an Osteriser but so far it keeps astonishing me with its power!

  7. Hy,

I do use nut bag also, is much better, get all the juice….from the vegies

  8. Leam says:

Handfuls of lettuce, spinach and chard from the garden blended with pineapple, coconut water and cherries. Also use a blender and nut milk bag to strain.

  9. Rebecca Cody says:

I love a mix of two handfuls spinach, 1 1/2 cups water, half a peeled lemon, half an apple, an inch of ginger, chopped, and a bit of stevia. Actually, into the Vitamix it goes and I don’t strain it. Just drink it as a thin smoothie. Sometimes I use frozen mixed berries instead of the apple, but I love the spring green color when I make it with apple.

  10. imlivingandlearning says:

They were and are still called sprouting bags.

I’m still listening for info about adverse effects from consuming cultured/fermented foods.

  11. Patrina says:

Johnny 5 was hilarious today – loved his vocals and the tail, oh the tail, hehehe… kinda like the mast of a ship sailing back and forth across the screen! 🙂

No green juices lately – waiting for all the greens in the garden to grow.

  12. oregano says:

When is Johnny 5 getting his own show? You can tell he’s desperate to get on camera.

Been eating greens whole rather than in juices lately.

  13. I love your kitty… he/she was so talkative and I guess always is… part Siamese?

My baby is very vocal as well…

  14. Catherine says:

If you blend everything in the Vitamix, why not just drink it as is. Is there some further reason or benefit to straining it to a juice consistency?

  15. Tom says:

    Re: food testing.

Perhaps a site could be constructed where folks could submit recommendations for specific foods to be tested and a PayPal or other method of chipping in to cover testing expenses (maybe somthing like ten bucks a month?)

  16. Darlene Santano says:

As always, love your advice. I think I can get a nut milk bag at my local health food store. Vitality Health in Edmonton is great. They’ve got all sorts of things like coconut flour and different types of grains like Teff and Amaranth.

My favourite green juice is with brocolli, celery, spinach, an apple, a banana or two, some spirulina and chlorella, maca powder, chia seeds and sometimes some protein powder. Yummy!

I always experiment so it tastes different every time I make it. I just use my blender and make more of a smoothie since I don’t yet have a juicer.

Yes, Johnny 5 should definitely have his own show! I love cats – have 2 of my own. they each have their own personality.

  17. Tara Burner says:

love jonny5 and his vocals and tail today!
greens…i’ve been avoiding…as commented on other post I have some ‘block’ and can’t seem to make a green smoothie or green juice…not sure why..need to get over it…sure it’s psychological!

  18. Velda says:

I noticed you didn’t have any fruit in your green juice. I have always put apples or pineapple in my green juice because it seems to me that it needs a little sweetner. Also, I usually put just a few carrots. Thanks for the video.

BTW, I really like the videos because I don’t always have time to read your articles. I can pull the videos up at work and listen to them them while I am working. Also, your audio interviews I enjoy. I can also listen to those while I am working. Thanks for your wonderful contribution to improving the health of the world!!

  19. oh the happy baby noise is sooo cute! Thx for including that infectious little sound – That’s the best medicine imho 🙂 Anyway I admit my favourite green drink apart from green teas ( does that count 😉 is still Melrose barley grass powder in almost anything – quick, easy, carry it in my handbag

  20. Marianne says:

Jonny5’s final tail across screen was purrfectly timed I must say…Annemarie – you look absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! My first organic veg box delivery in a loooooong time arrives tomorrow and my juicer is already looking very happy about that;-)) Am converted btw Kev – back to a videos addict….not that i’m not loving the articles btw….xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  21. Hello All and Sarah from April 30th,
Ocean Harvest Sea Vegetable Company http://www.seaweedmermaid.com has tested for heavy metals and found our seaweeds to be non-contaminated. You must not have done your research completely because you never contacted me about this.
We are also testing for radiation and will continue to do so throughout the harvesting season.
I am constantly asked about testing seaweeds for radiation and am a bit confused that people assume that seaweed would “soak up” any more radiation than land based plants. So far, from what we do know, the radiation danger has been airborne. That means that every green leafy vegetable you eat will be contaminated. When you think about the rains we have had in the past month after the radiation leaks, I would be more concerned with the concentration in the rain landing on land plants than that landing in the ocean and being dispersed throughout the entire ocean body of water.

  22. Cosmic says:

Gross, why are you drinking from a jar!? I can’t stand seeing that.

  23. Beth says:

Nice to see AnnMarie back for the Q&A.
