Man, I love that word…

Annmarie and I had WAY too much fun on this show while preparing this raw food recipe.

Today, we prepare a traditional eastern European dish called Borscht. The base is beets.

We love beets… and we love saying “borscht”!

Take a look…

Your question of the day: What is your t-shirt size and would you want one of these cool “Nutrition Facts T-shirts?

Here’s the raw food recipe for Heather’s Borscht:

1 small beet, washed, cut in half
1 stalk celery, washed, cut in half
1 slice onion
2 stems mustard greens (which Annmarie forgot… oops)
1 chunk cabbage (less than 1/2 cup)
1/4 lemon, washed, with peel
1 very small piece ginger (about 1/2 tsp grated or a little less)
1/4 tsp raw apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup water

Blend on high.
Heather suggest to put it in a white bowl and topped it with a little olive oil.

Annmarie added chunks of veggies to it 🙂

Other suggestions: top with slightly sprouted sunflower seeds and some more pepper.

Love the shirts Kevin! Are they organic cotton? I am a medium. Post holidays, works best for me.

  3. gloria says:

Hi guys! how can I sub the apple cider vinegar with? I have all the other ingredients except for that. Sounds yummy!
Thanks for all the good stuff that you guys share with us.

    Love youuuuuuuu

  4. Andrea says:

Will you do some kids sizes?

  5. Deborah Gordon says:

    Hi Kevin and Annemarie,

I would like one of these shirts. Take your time, after the holidays is great and I wear a size M.

  6. Maria says:

Is black the only color the t-shirt comes in? And what is the cost?

  7. Janet says:

What’s this “yousguys” thing you have going in the video? Ain’t you supposed to say You’enz when you are from Pittsburgh???!!! It’s like calling Pollander all-fruit jelly!

Pretty soon you will be doing Russian dancing with all that borsch borsch borsch LOL!

    T-shirt size: Medium. After Christmas.

  8. Sara says:

Would like one of the shirts (1X) after Christmas is fine.

  9. Dana says:

    Love the recipe for BORSCHT!!!!!
Colour would be nice … red? turquoise? navy?
I would need a size L, after the holidays is great

Cost is important, as I live in Canada…and shipping
“anything” to here from there is very costly.

    Thanks kindly.

  10. Lenette says:

I love that shirt! I remember telling you that at the spirit fest 🙂 After the holiday. I’m a small.

  11. Glenda says:

I love that shirt! I would want it ASAP, and size Medium. 🙂 I’ve never like beets, but I think I’ve only had the canned type, so maybe I will like the fresh better. It looks really good!

  12. gloria says:

cool shirt. I am a sm or med.
    After the Holidays is perfect

  13. jo says:

I love the nutrition T-shirt and I wear a small.

  14. Bernadette says:

    Hi Kevin,

Does the t-shirt say Renegade Health on it? I would love a few t-shirts with your name and website on them.. as well as your cartoon logo if you ever do other t-shirts designs in the future.

  15. jo says:

I would also like to get a shirt for each of my boys aged 9 and 7

  16. sharon says:

I would love a Toddler 2 size for my granddaughter! Red, for valentines day!

  17. crow says:

Love the tshirts. So how much are they.
Would love on in a large. Anytime is great.

  18. After holidays, small. Any other happier colors available?

  19. Sparrow says:

I’d LOVE to buy one of the t-shirts after the holidays. (Like mid-January is perfect for me.)

I don’t know what to tell you about size without seeing a size chart from the t-shirt company, though, since I wear anything from an L to an XXXL, depending on the manufacturer! (Which makes me sad when, for example, I can’t fit into the awesome “cow hugger” shirts Herbivore sells because their sizing makes me an XXXL and they only make shirts up to XL.)

If it makes it any easier to figure, I have a 46″ chest. So whatever size that makes me from your manufacturer, that’s what I am. (I usually have to alter t-shirts to get them to fit me right anyway since t-shirts are made as rectangles and I’m so very much not boxy. Fortunately, t-shirts are super easy to tailor so long as they’re big enough to start with.)

  20. Nicole says:

You two make me laugh out loud…I just love how much fun you have!!

I can think of like 5 people I would love to get that shirt for and of course one for me!!
    I’m a small
I’d probably also buy a couple mediums and an XL for friends and family.

Giving knows no season so take your time!

  21. Welmoed says:

As for the T-shirts: I’ll take an L for me since I like them roomy, and another one for my husband who is your size Kevin, so do you have an L or XL?? And yes, if you will be doing kid sizes, I have an 11 yo slender built and a 9 yo.
I like your Blowin In the Wind T-shirt too, having been born and raised in Windmill country (the Netherlands), when I get back there every so often I can’t get over how many more modern windmills (and w.m.parks) are sprouting up over there. It’s flat and windy so the Dutch are taking advantage of the natural elements they have plenty of: Wind & Water!
A suggestion for filming when putting the ingredients in the Vitamix: instead of going back and forth from the cart to the VM, I think it would be easier on the eyes to put the VM container on the cart while Annmarie adds the ingredients one by one. After all ingredients are in, then transfer it to the base and blend. Anyhow, making borscht after seeing this video will never be the same. The kids will be wondering why I’ll be laughing and then they may want some!
One last thing: congrats on the Steelers’ win… my husband couldn’t believe that his Cowboys blew it in the end and it was even TO’s b’day too.

  22. Welmoed says:

While my earlier message awaits Moderator approval, I realized I forgot to say when I would like them by: after the holidays would be fine.

    Thank you,

  23. Mara says:

Love the shirt and the borscht! I’d like an xl so I can share with my hubby. Whenever is fine.

  24. I would take that shirt in a size small or medium, and would love to see it in a dark blue or burgundy.

  25. borscht like horst SUPER STUFF

when do you get yourself a RAW HAT
    & a RAW Goddess HAT?

  26. bri says:

    Hi kevin and Annemarie.
I love your show and think you to are so cool, you always make me smile. Ive been watching the show for ages now but this is the first time i have commented. I think the t shirts are really great and would love one or a couple after the holidays.I was wondering can you get them done in a tight fitting womens top, size small/medium.
    love and blessings*bri

  27. Jason says:

Time is not an issue. I wear a medium. Thanks for everything!

  28. Sparrow says:

Okay, I just made some borscht! Let me say, I have made traditional cooked borscht many times over the years, from many Russian recipes, many different ways. I think this raw borscht is tastier than all of them! And it took a fraction of the time to make that traditional cooked borscht takes. Very awesome! I’m sitting here eating it right now and thought, “I ought to go thank Kevin and Anne Marie for this awesome food I’m eating, courtesy of their generosity.” So here I am. Thank you!

  29. jessica kathryn says:

you two are delightful + full of great insight – i am so grateful for your sharing !

id really enjoy a small tee post holy-day :0 ]

    take care + grow true

  30. Jenni says:

I would order a shirt after the holidays, but I’m a very big size, probably a 5x, that’s why I’m trying to improve my nutrition! 🙂

  31. natalya says:

I’d like to order couple of medium size, preferable before Holidays.
I’d like to know about the cost also. Thank you!

  32. Bonnie Evoy says:

Yum…….some avocado chunks stirred in would be great and creamy, a nice subtitute for the dollop of sour cream.

Yes on the tshirt, love it, size med shipped to canada..$$$?

  33. Dede says:

    Hey y’all! haha..
Ok…I love the shirt…I wear a large..my son wears a medium….thanks for asking! After holidays would be good for me..since I am big time on a budget and look in my pocket and say “where’s the money” haha!
I have had cancer..and look forward to preparing this soup…really pretty color(also I have dyed clothing w beet juice..amazing)
    dede in Tennessee

  34. The soup looks awesome, I am just now beginning my raw food and lifestyle journey, so far other than a dreadful cleansing time I feel great! My t-shirt size is 3xl.

  35. RawCandy says:

Hello from a snowy cold swedish morning

What colors other then Black will the T-shirt come in ? When ever they are available will you be sending international orders as well ? Are there both woman and men sizes ? if so I want a L and a XL in womans size.
I wish we had the vidalia onions here in sweden, very potent eating any other types raw.
Lived in Florida for many years so I miss eating those sweet onions.
Thank you for all your great information

  36. Bonny says:

I’d love one of those t’s. But I like huge roomy ones(use as a night shirt). Could I get size 4x? Also live in Canada. How much?

  37. Michael says:

Before the Holiday would be great.
    I would like XL,L

  38. Laura says:

Thanks for the recipe, but isn’t black pepper considered an irritant especially for a raw fooder? Not crazy about the t-shirt for a few reasons: I don’t wear t-shirts, I don’t wear black, and I don’t like wearing messages with so many words and all boxed in like that…(sorry, I’m a flower child and prefer to display images of beauty) I do think the more clothing advertising with raw lifestyle choices people wear the better though. Like maybe a beautiful picture of a luscious apple and the words “just eat an apple”…things like that: simple, beautiful, and with very few words I think get more attention, and are more affective. Love you both, keep on rawkin! ~Laura Sutton

  39. Connie says:

Phooey! I just used up my whole bag of beets–and it will be awhile before I get more. Am looking forward to trying this recipe, though!

  40. Karen Jackson says:

I eat beets, but I still don’t like them. I guess I’ll have to try borscht now. The T-shirts are cute and I’d like two large in black. Why don’t you wait until after the holidays so you don’t have to rush it. Thanks for the great show!

  41. ROB says:

My family is Polish and I’ve eaten cooked Borscht my whole life. I can’t wait to try your raw version. With your experience with candida, what you think about eating beets and other high sugar veggies?

I love the T-shirts. Can you make a white shirt with black printing?
I wear a small. No rush to get it before the Holidays.

  42. Mary Kenny says:

Wonderful T If they are a unisex size small will work. Can’t wait to try the borscht.

  43. karen says:

love the borscht! i add a tsp of raw sour cream on top of mine….yum!
and now that i am RAW, i’m a medium. 🙂

  44. Gail says:

Yes the recipe looks good and is simple too,
would like a t-shirt in xl I like them big and baggy but not sure whether you will ship to the UK

  45. Elena says:

I would love to have this t-shirt! Do you have XS?
By the way in Russia we say “borsch”, not “borscht”. Never tried it raw. I think, it’s a great recipe.

  46. mary says:

Hi Guys . . . soup looks like a winner . . . will try as soon as I get to the store for some beets. I love the tee — would get it after Christmas — probably a large (can you get different “cuts”?) — a womens and a mans are usually different styles. I would be interested in a color other than black also. I enjoy laughing with you both — thanks!! Mary from NJ

  47. John says:

The borsch (my Russian friends say there is no “t”) looks great, I’ll have to try it soon. I wold love one of those shirts and I wear a large. I may buy some as gifts too, but anytime.

  48. sarah says:

i will definitely take 2 of these teeshirts, thankyou very much!
    one extralarge, and one large.
ship when you can, after christmas is cool.

  49. Nelly (Montreal) says:

I love your shows, people! Please, do not stop making them; for me,they are the only daily inspirations to continue on the age-defying and energizing raw-food path.
You are so generous in sharing your lives and passions with us – may you be richly blessed with all the abundance that this world can offer…actually I know that you have been already blessed and more is coming to you – just wait!
Your borsch is wonderful – very tasty and so easy to prepare. I tried adding some dill or coriander(cilantro)into the soup – it’s good!
Also, if you have freshly sqeezed carrot and/or pineapple juice, pour those in – let me know if you like it…
T-SHIRT…sounds good; I want one sometime after Christmas. Would like different colour though…and what about the cost for canadians? My size – small or medium – depending on the manufacture’s standards.
Keep rawking, guys. I love you!!!

  50. sye says:

Okay Kevin and Ann Marie. I’m going to join in here and say that Csilla and I appreciate you two as well. Thank you for all of your sharing. Are the shirts organic cotton and how much are they? We are both medium sized, but I think Csilla might be interested in one of the tight woman shirts if you can get them that way. We also have a little guy who is about 16 months so would like to know about that size as well.
    Keep it up!
    Sye, Csilla and Kyle

  51. Beth says:

I would buy one if it came in white or another light color. I have 6 cats and I don’t like to wear dark colors ’cause it shows the cat hair too much. Size small.
No hurry, next year is good.

  52. Steve says:

    Kevin –
I would like to have one of your shirts, medium.

After the holdiay would be fine with me.

Y’all have a happy holiday from us here in Texas.

  53. Jenn says:

I love the soup, and hoping if I cut the beet in smaller pieces my blender can handle(it’s an old Osterizer, not up to Vitamiz yet). Or those same veggies would be great shredded in food processor with a ginger dressing as a salad. Either way, I will be looking for beets tomorrow at the farmer market.

T-shirt size would be an XL or 1x (not sure how they are measured), but I’m not worried on the time. I really liked the one you were wearing in this episode as well 🙂

  54. Ginny says:

I’d love to have a t-shirt!! I’d like women’s XL, in black and long sleeved? After the holidays’ is better for me.

  55. Beth Sturges says:

I’ll take a size medium please. I love your show and your genuine nature. Thanks for serving all of us~~~Beth from Colorado

  56. Kat says:

The borscht was beautiful – and what a fun show today. 🙂

Cool design on the t-shirt!! I would like one of these…but I don’t look good in a man’s black, boxy tee. Could you print some in a more feminine style or a vintage type tee?

By the way, Kevin..when I was typing heather grey above, I also typed “healther” – hehe! 😀

  57. Kat says:

I just read Bernadette’s post, and I agree – I would absolutely love a t-shirt with your cartoon logo on it! Please think about printing some of those in the future, I’m sure you would sell a ton of ’em. 🙂

  58. sonja says:

Hi Kevin, I love this show. I never thought I would try this kind of raw soup, but it looks very appealing. I am going to try it. You gradually weaning me over to more and more raw!!
I am a size L/LX?2XL depending on the brand.
I also wear Ts that are a size M?? So might be best go with inches…
    Love Sonja

  59. Victoria G says:

I love the shirt and I prefer large even though I’m medium. Also I say wait after the holiday to do the shirts when everybody settle down.

  60. Traci says:

Great show. I hope I can afford a VitaMix soon because I want to try all of your cool recipes. Will a food processor make the Borscht well?

    I’m a size L and would love a t-shirt after the holidays.

  61. Angela says:

Can’t wait to try the borsch! Love the t-shirt. Sm or med would work for me. After the holidays would be great. Happy Holidays,

  62. Deanna Dean says:

Any time for the shirts. I’m a small but want one for a grandchild, plus a bunch for people all sizes including a XXL.

Can’t wait to try the BORSCHT!!

  63. Pamela says:

Love the shirt, I am an xs and would get one for my eight year old daughter as well. Also love the show – can’t wait to have the borscht and serve some to my Polish friends!

  64. Michael says:

This t-shirt is really funny, I have still often wondered what’s the text. I’m a medium and I want two of this eyecatcher. Better it is after the holidays.
    Thanks for this offer.

  65. patty says:

Shirts are cool. I`m a size med
