About two weeks ago, I interviewed Dr. David Brownstein who is an expert clinician who helps people balance their hormones and improve their thyroid function.

Basically, he takes really tired, worn out people – people who are always achy, lethargic, have low sex drive and moody – and makes them feel like they’re themselves again.

I think you will find this interview very useful (my written comments follow!)…

We’re rolling with a how to videos today…

I managed to get Annmarie to show you a super-easy to make facial serum that will help build collagen and in turn help remove wrinkles (or at least make them less prominent!)

Take a look here…

Your question of the day: Have you ever put seaweed on your face?

Click here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and leave your comments now!

Seaweed Facial Serum

1/2 cup Irish Moss
1 1/3 cups Water
1 tbsp Vitamin C powder

Put Irish moss in water and soak for 20 minutes. Blend the moss and soak water for 30-40 seconds. Add Vitamin C. Blend for another 20 seconds or until moss is fairly smooth.

Pour into a jar with a lid and let sit to congeal for 5 minutes. Or place in the refrigerator for 20-30 min. to chill for a great after sun treatment.

This makes a whole lot, but will last you 2 weeks in the refrigerator. You might want to lessen the amounts if you’re not planning on using it frequently.

To Apply: Take 1/2 tbsp of Serum and massage all over your face and neck. Keep on for 10-15 min. It will dry up so might want to keep a spray bottle near by and spray water or one of my toners on periodically. Wash off well.

This will leave you with a natural glow and super soft skin!

I look forward to giving you the “7 Things I Learned this Week” because I like sharing more personal things with you.

The other day, I was talking to a friend of mine and he was asking about our blog.

He said he really liked how personal it was.

I told him, of course, the reason why it’s so personal is because I feel the only difference between him and you is that he and I are standing in the same room and you are somewhere else.

If you’ve ever had a chance to meet us at an event or somewhere around the U.S. (which happens more than you think!) you’ll know that this is true.

We love to hang out and chat about nutrition and anything else that comes up.

Anyway, I don’t want to make this too sappy… LOL!

The list does not include some of the best herbs because (1) I want to do that in a separate show and (2) it’s sometimes better to take herbs on a rotational basis to give your body a break from some of them.

This is a big question for anyone who comes up with a rash the size of Connecticut around a tick bite…

When I first saw the rash from the tick bite (I had pulled the deer tick off my leg about 3 days earlier), I knew what it was. Since I had already done research into treatments for Lyme disease in the past, I knew what the likely treatment would be as well.

I’m a (very) strong proponent of natural treatments, so I called and emailed a few experts that I know to see what they would recommend for natural Lyme disease treatment. I was not surprised to hear what they said.

Go ahead and watch to find out…

Your question of the day: Where do you draw the line between conventional and natural treatment?

I made a well intentioned list of 6 things to do and I’ve gotten just one done. (Good news is that the one that’s finished is this show!)

In this episode, I talk about the Wii Fit (which I haven’t paid much attention to until now), twitter.com, how to boost energy naturally, and how to build strong knees!

I also play guitar for just a quick second… nothing serious… check it out!

Your question of the day: What do you do to blast through procrastination? (I need this one today!)

In this show, Annmarie makes an awesome raw food recipe that can be modified to your taste and prep style.

Collards are high in phytonutrients as well as vitamin K, vitamin A and vitamin C. Tahini is sesame paste that is high in iron and calcium.

Take a look and be sure to answer this episode’s question of the day, because we’ll be preparing the winner next week!

Your question of the day: What is your favorite dessert?

We’re going to prep it raw next week, so the best one makes next week’s show!

Click here and scroll down to the bottom to add your favorite dessert to the comments…

BTW: Here’s the Recipe…

Raw Tahini Sauce

4 Tbsp Water
3 Tbsp Nama Shoyu
3-4 Tsp Raw Tahini (More if you want it thicker!)
2 Tsp Raw Olive Oil (Or Sesame Oil)
1 Tbsp Agave
2 Tbsp Ginger
1 Clove Garlic
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
1 Pinch Cumin
1 Pinch Sea Salt

Instructions: Blend!

Raw Collard Vegetable Wraps

6 Collard Leaves
1 Small Carrot
1 Small Zucchini
1/2 Small Red Onion
1/2 Small Red Cabbage
1 Handful Chopped Cilantro
1 Handful Chopped Basil

Other suggestions: Red Pepper, Spinach, Mango, Cucumber.

Instructions: Cut the stem out of the collards and blanch for 5 seconds in almost boiling water than run under cold water to cool down (this is debatable whether it’s raw or not, so you don’t have to do this if you don’t want!). Julienne the veggies and wrap them in the collards, adding some sauce for flavor and to seal the wrap. Makes 12 wraps!

Live Awesome!

When you travel it’s certainly more difficult to stay on the healthy track. If we stayed at home all the time, it would certainly be a lot easier to stick to your diet… but the world is out there to be explored… so it would be a shame to not enjoy it!

Here are some healthy travel tips that I use to ease the stress over “what to eat” when I’m not at home.

When you’re finished watching, please add your own by clicking here and scrolling down to the bottom of the page!

Here is a short list of what I do when I travel:

Search online for local health food stores. WholeFoods is a good place to start. You can just search by zip code on their website: www.wholefoods.com.

Make a list of healthy restaurants… (raw, vegan, etc.) I’m not a big fan of raw gourmet, so I’d actually rather eat a cooked vegan meal that is balanced better than a raw mish-mash of heavy nuts and seeds. This list is essential, particularly if you’re going to a place where there’s little to eat. This will save you from stress… I promise.

Bring these key supplements: Green Powder, Senna (for constipation, Kyolic Aged Garlic Extract, Vitamin C, Sea Salt. (You can get the Green Powder at David Wolfe’s site www.Sunfood.com or if you like, you can use my affiliate link: click here

Bring my Rubix cube… can’t solve it, but who cares

IPod: loaded with Centerpointe relaxation tapes. That can be found at www.CenterPointe.com or (Click here – affiliate link)

Readmate: This is a great tool for speed reading. My friend has a whole course, but you might be able to get one here: www.KwikLearning.com

At least 4 books.

Rechargeable batteries!

That’s it for healthy travel… Of course there are more things like dried fruits and nuts, but these are the staples for mind and body.

What do you bring? Click here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and tell everyone your tips!
