Today, I was going to talk more about the adrenals, but I came across an article from the Environmental Working Group I’d like to discuss…

It’s about toxic contaminants in your water supply.

I know we like to think that the state and local municipalities will take care of us and make sure we’re safe, but we have to understand that they’re just as frazzled and busy and underfunded as we all are… so how can they make sure everything is OK?

The short answer is that they can’t.

I’ll explain why in a second…

First, we’re winding down on the opportunity to get “The Complete Adrenal Health Program” with Dr. J. E. Williams.

This is a complete program that will help you determine how your adrenals are functioning, help you decide what tests to take, and give you the protocols – including herbs, foods, and supplements – to help you take control over your own personal health.

This is a comprehensive audio and PDF course on how you can successfully correct many adrenal issues and give your body the support it needs to improve your health.

It also gives you access to Dr. Williams’ own proprietary testing protocols and regimens to help identify certain common adrenal issues that many doctors misdiagnose.

This program, until December 22nd, is almost 50% off.

So please be sure to take advantage of this deal and treat your adrenals kindly, your health relies on it.

Here’s where you can read more and get this program now…

http://www.renegadehealth.com/adrenals

Now on to the newsletter…

The Environmental Working Group recently studied the amount of a known carcinogenic compound in city tap water from 35 different municipalities around the United States.

They found this toxic substance in 31 of the 35 places.

I imagine if they were to survey 100 places, the percentage would be similar, so we’re dealing with a major issue in public safety and health.

So what is the toxin, where does it come from and what does it do?

The toxin is chromium-6.

This is an oxidized form of chromium that is used in many industrial processes such as stainless steel production, wood preservation, hide tanning and more.

Basically, it’s prevalent and it’s getting in the ground water, likely because save processes for disposing of it don’t exist or aren’t followed.

Chormium-6 has been labeled as a carcinogenic substance – meaning can cause cancer – particularly cancers of the stomach.

One specific instance of chromium-6 (or VI) was brought to the public’s attention by attorney Julia Roberts – oops, I mean, Erin Brockovich.

In Hinkley, CA, tests found the total chromium-6 levels in the drinking water was .58 ppm (parts per million).

The EPA level to total chromium is .10 ppm.

People in this community experienced an increase in cancer, which is why attention has been given to this particular compound.

So enough about what it is, let me tell you what the cities are and what you can do to remove it.

First, here are where it has been found.

Keep in mind, this does not mean your city or area is in the clear. These are the 31 out of the 35 cities that were tested. (From EWG.org)

1. Norman, Oklahoma
2. Honolulu, Hawaii
3. Riverside, California
4. Madison, Wisconsin
5. San Jose, California
6. Tallahassee, Florida
7. Omaha, Nebraska
8. Albuquerque, New Mexico
9. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
10. Bend, Oregon
11. Salt Lake City, Utah
12. Ann Arbor, Michigan
13. Atlanta, Georgia
14. Los Angeles, California
15. Bethesda, Maryland
16. Phoenix, Arizona
17. Washington, D.C.
18. Chicago, Illinois
19. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
20. Villanova, Pennsylvania
21. Sacramento, California
22. Louisville, Kentucky
23. Syracuse, New York
24. New Haven, Connecticut
25. Buffalo, New York
26. Las Vegas, Nevada
27. New York, New York
28. Scottsdale, Arizona
29. Miami, Florida
30. Boston, Massachusetts
31. Cincinnati, Ohio

If you live in one of these places, you must have a water filter.

And look, just because this news is new, it’s not a far stretch to believe that our water hasn’t been contaminated with many other compounds for years.

In fact, there are many documented instances of this as well.

So here’s the most exciting part…

What you can do to get it out of your water!

There are three ways you can eliminate this toxin from your human existence.

1. Drink tested spring water.

Find a spring that has been tested by the local government (there are plenty!) and get your water fresh from the source.

2. Use a water distiller.

The distillation process will remove all toxic substances from your water leaving you with pure water.

3. Use a reverse osmosis filter.

The reverse osmosis process will remove almost all toxins from the water as well. It’s not as pure as distilled, but it does work.

I’m not going to get into the health benefits of distilled vs. reverse osmosis here. You can search on the blog for my various discussions of these two types of water.

4. When getting bottled water, get it in glass.

This really has nothing to do with chromium-6, but plastic bottles have been shown to outgas and release toxins into the water that can interfere with your hormone production. BPA is the biggest culprit, but I’m guessing we’ll hear about a dozen more compounds over the next 5-10 years.

So that’s your action plan, particularly if you’re still drinking or showering in non-filtered water.

Also, please be sure to send this to any friends you may have in the areas mentioned. It could save their lives!

Also, be sure to get “The Complete Adrenal Health Program” while we still have it at a great discount for you. It’s almost 50% off until this Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010.

Here’s where you can get it and read more now…

http://www.renegadehealth.com/adrenals

I’ll get back to adrenal health tomorrow!

Live Awesome!
