This news story was too bizarre to leave be…

Apparently, fruit juice can slow or limit the absorption of pharmaceutical drugs, or at least that’s what a new study wants the general public to believe.

It’s an awful way to confuse a bunch of people who are looking for answers. Put them on anti-allergy drugs that they will have to take for the rest of their lives and then tell them that fruit juice will make them sicker.

Like Chuck D. and Flavor Flav said back in ‘88 “Don’t believe the hype.”

(I just realized that literally 90% of our readers won’t get that reference… :-) )

I also address some vegan protein and muscle building questions.

Watch the show now, the intro is a bunch of fun…

Kevin: I am so glad you mentioned Kettle Bells. I totally changed my body in my 50’s by using Kettle Bells. I have never tried anything that works so well and so quickly. I look forward to seeing your segment on this. We have a very strong Kettle Bell school in Mn. I am so glad I was introduced to them, but a good teacher would be advised.

    Hello Kevin and Annmarie,

I would love for you to ask some raw experts their feelings on raw cacao. I have just read Paul Nison’s latest blog post, and he is assured beyond a shadow of a doubt that it is indeed TOXIC! I am sure that if overdone it can feel bad like anything, but toxic? I would really like to know your feelings and others on this subject. Great episode!
    Keep it up!

Don’t know if my question got through to the blog on Tuesday as every time I submit a comment it gets flagged up as spam :-(

My question was about my knees. They grind and make awful sounds when I bend. Doesn’t hurt but something must be done to fix this problem. Who could I see for a correct diagnosis? Any suggestions what I could do to make my knees a little happier?

Enjoy the expo, I can’t wait for Friday’s episode!

    Thanks Alissa

Good luck with Ruth’s Hemp Foods! On 6/3/08, I ordered 3 pkgs of the cereal and 3 boxes of the flax bars. After 5 calls, as of 8/21/08
I still have not received one box of the flax bars. I need to call them again, but needless to say not to place an order.

    Kevin,

Could you please ask Dr. Gabriel Cousens what he feels is the best natural treatment for successfully managing bipolar disorder? I’ve been suffering my entire life from severe up/down cycles. I just came out of another severe anxiety/panic/depression phase only find myself bounce right into a manic episode again (only slept 2 hours last night and I feel fine–this is not healthy). This pattern will continue for another few days until I stabilize for a few weeks, then the cycle will repeat itself, uggggh. For the last year, this pattern has repeated itself like clockwork every ~25 days. I refuse to use pharmaceuticals and have been experimenting with all types of algae, E3Live Brain-On, vegan amino acids, aloe-vera, superfoods, Noni, Acai, RadicalHealth.com products, etc. with limited success. What can Dr. Cousens share that will help stabilize people like myself and help me go to sleep (during a manic phase) without taking sleeping pills/drugs? I would love to hear what Dr. Cousens has to say about this—he is the most qualified person on the planet to answer this question. Thank you in advance for your help!

Hey, guys, can you show us international viewers what a cup size is? I read form many sources that you should not exceed the amount of 2.5 cups per meal in a 3-meal regimen. Currently I have a big bowl of salad (much more than 2.5 cups) for lunch, though my stomach is not the biggest (I’m on the need to gain weight flank*).
Does height influence that portion even a little? Some days I feel very full, some days a little more than very full! It is worth noting that I take 1h30min to finish (I’m a slowww and thorough chewer).
Just writing this made me notice how highly incovenient it is. Anyway, is that a bad for me? I’m dividind it in 2 and eating the other half at dinner, starting tomorrow!

*height and weight(m and kg): 1,885m/63kg

    Thank you!

    I got your reference…haha.

Hopefully that study won’t make people stop drinking fruit juice (though most people’s version of fruit juice would be Koolaid or some other HFCS mix). If anything, real fruit juice would be protecting you from the dangerous chemicals these pharmaceuticals are made out of.

And yes, all of your shows are awesome!

    Kevin,

Love and appreciate your show! Paul Nison and some raw food gurus have said that raw chocolate is very toxic. I have been eating and enjoying raw chocolate but am slowing down until I complete my research. I tend to believe Paul Nison as he, like you, doesn’t accept money to promote products.

Your thoughts on raw cacoa/chocolate being toxic?

    Thanks,

    Joel

it is nothing new that fruit juice will affect pharmaceuticals. There have always been warnings on not taking grapefruit juice/ grapefruits with various things as they tend to stop things working, or increase efficiency.
You just should keep them 1 hour apart and you are fine!!
Interested re the raw cacao! Was just going to buy some as I heard so much good stuff about it re weight loss etc. Am I better off justs eating dark chocolate? (85%)
p.s. look forward to your shows..
