When I do EFT, I instantly teleport to here…

It’s rare that I say someone “needs” to do something, but in this case I’m going to lay out at least 7 reasons why I think you would benefit from learning EFT (and where you can learn it free!)…

First up, for those who think I’m talking about something you do at an ATM, I probably need to explain myself.

EFT is short for Emotional Freedom Technique and is — these days — called “tapping.” It’s an acupressure / affirmation technique that works to calm your energy channels and create major healing in the body.

If this sounds wo-wo to you, run with your feeling because I felt the same way the first time I was introduced to it.

It’s a technique that could literally change your life in many ways. I’m going to share 7 here…

(If you want a more detailed explanation of EFT or tapping, you can read this article here: Introduction to EFT or Tapping)

1. You can get rid of anxiety.

We all walk through life with some level of anxiety — whether it’s from external sources or from inside.

Tapping can work to help calm your body’s stress centers, so you can be more balanced and calm.

Whether you believe it or not, this type of acupressure — which is what EFT is — works to create a physical state of calm with your endocrine system.

And as you know, if you’re endocrine system is cool, so are you.

If you have anxiety, you can follow along here with super-success coach Cheryl Richardson. Don’t be fooled by the quality of the video, she’s a multiple New York Times bestseller…

2. It’s fantastic for eliminating cravings…

To eliminate cravings, you need to eliminate what is causing them. Willpower doesn’t cut it.

So the work is not about the craving, it’s what is underneath.

Tapping or EFT can allow you to dig deeper into what is really causing the craving so you can stop it. Maybe you don’t feel loved. Maybe you’re unhappy with your job or relationship. Maybe you were hurt when you were younger and haven’t healed that emotional scar. Maybe you’re stuck in a neurosis about diet and you’re not getting the right nutrients.

There are many issues that could cause cravings, but when you get to the center of them — not surprisingly — they go away.

I meet up with my friend Nick Ortner a while back and we filmed this show on how you can bust through your cravings without having to use willpower or appetite suppression pills…

3. It can help deal with physical pain.

This is a surprising application of tapping — the elimination or assistance with physical pain.

How can tapping your body help you heal something physical?

Simply, because you’re tapping acupressure points. If you believe acupuncture can help you heal physical issues, then it’s not too far of a stretch to believe that acupressure could — at least — help.

I’ve seen some amazing things happen when people use tapping for pain relief, like back pain gone, arthritis less painful, and headaches completely gone.

The best way to believe this or not is to work with it and see if it works for you. Here’s a video with EFT expert Brad Yates as he takes you through a tapping sequence for pain…

4. Get rid of phobias and fears.

The first video I saw of someone tapping, was a grainy clip of EFT founder Gary Craig working with a man who had a serious fear of water.

So much, in fact, the man wouldn’t even walk near the pool.

Gary tapped with the man for about 45 minutes and the man’s intense fear slowly dissipated.

By the end of the session, Gary convinced the man to get into the pool and suddenly he was splashing around like a kid.

Something took this person from intense fear to extreme ease and elation.

Skeptics may say it was Gary’s skill as a practitioner (and I don’t doubt that as a factor), but the tapping must have had something to do with it. I’m pretty sure it would have been hard to just talk-therapy the guy into the pool.

Here’s Gary working with a woman who hates rats (the ending is pretty amazing!)…

5. Use it for abundance and success!

We all want to be successful in some aspect of our lives.

You don’t have to be a business person to succeed — you can be a great mom or dad, you can do something really well, you can make beautiful things, you can create change (small or large.)

EFT is fantastic for breaking through issues around not feeling successful or abundant.

This is how I’ve used it the most.

I will find myself using EFT probably at least 2-3 times a week to break through some sort of block I seem to be having in my life — personal or business.

It’s almost like I tap it away in minutes. Sometimes, of course, it comes back — but other times, it’s gone for good.

One of my favorite tapping / success experts is Carol Look. I’ve interviewed her 2-3 times in the past and I wanted to show you a clip of her explaining how tapping works for success so you can get excited about what it can do for you…

6. Clear emotional stress and past trauma.

If you’re dealing with something in your past like abuse, emotional trauma, car accident, unexpected death in the family, or many other issues, you may want to try EFT to help you get some closure — or at least emotional relief.

I’m not a therapist or anything like that, but I’ve seen and talked to many people who’ve said that EFT has worked much quicker on their trauma than years of talk therapy.

Again, if you’re suffering, getting more tools in the belt is almost always a good thing.

Here’s tapping expert Nick Ortner working with a woman onstage (it’s two parts)…

7. Try it on everything…

The last one is the catch-all. I can’t think of many more uses — since these above pretty much cover it all — but if you think of something and you feel like it’s an issue in your life, you can tap on it.

Some examples are attracting good relationships, procrastination, perfectionism, impatience, performance in sports, you name it!

So, where to go from here?

I think the best thing to do is to dive right in, LOL!

And you can next week…

Our good friends, Nick, Alex and Jess Ortner are releasing the 4th Tapping World Summit. This program is totally free and will teach you how to use this technique for all the issues I mentioned above — in-depth — and give you results while you’re listing in.

Registration requires no credit card and no travel. Last year over 300,000 people signed up — which means to me, there’s something to this!

Here’s where you can sign up now:

It does sound “wo-wo” still to me. All smoke and mirrors and this snake oil will cure everything from AIDS to financial freedom…I must say, it gains some credulity because you recommend it, but I think it is still too far out for me to try it.

Kev, are there any real statistics behind it other than testimonial evidence, which of course is the weakest of all scientific proofs? If it’s this amazing, I am sure someone somewhere has looked into it? If so, could you post those studies?

  2. Hi Kevin. I don’t regularly comment here…I have commented once or twice, I think, but I am a regular reader. I LOVE this post of yours and I will tell you why. I stumbled upon Nick’s video one day when I was perusing through Kris Carr’s newsletter and was quite intrigued, albeit, skeptical. I decided to just tap with Nick, however, and see if anything happened. I didn’t really have anything particular in mind, per se, but I was going through an emotional time and was under emotional stress (which I seem to handle well, that is, it doesn’t really manifest outwardly too much for me). Anyway, I did one round of his tapping and started to cry. I did one more round and proceeded to cry, with vigor, for 2 full hours. I couldn’t stop and my eyes were burning but it was so intense I could not stop it. Finally, it was over. I was so fatigued from crying so hard for so long, but felt as if an incredible weight had been lifted. I slept soundly that night and when I woke, it was as though I had taken 10 years off my life. I suppose all that stress had been there and I didn’t see it so didn’t know it needed to release. I do EFT regularly now and I LOVE the videos you have posted. Thank you so much for being so great and posting such relevant and helpful information. I am a Nutrition Consultant and now tell all my clients about the benefits of EFT. Good stuff, Kevin!!

EFT seems a lot like a form of self-hypnosis.
They say the program is free, but try to get you to ‘upgrade’. That’s why they need your email for a ‘free’ program. It’s actually quite expensive.

Do you get a commission for each person that clicks through your web site? Quite a lucrative business. 🙂

Great information Kevin. I’m been using EFT for a number of years. I was quite skeptical at first and only used it occasionally but I kept hearing about it and now use it more often. I’ve really found it works for relieving stress. Today I had to make a phone call that I really didn’t want to make and I was quite stressed about it so I decided to tap. It was amazing how much calmer I felt after just three rounds. I really think there’s something to it!

EFT is one of the most useful techniques Ive ever seen or used in my practice. Its simple to learn, apply, and is safe and extremely effective… for many issues.
No aspect of it has anything in common with hypnosis. This program really is Free. You’re given a tremendous amount of information to use this technique with others or yourself. The upgrade is for those who wish to learn even more of this truly invaluable procedure.
It also helps and has helped some of the most severe cases of Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder which have had no success or relief from any other treatment, and in a very short period of time… IE: PTSD in War Veterans.
You may not feel you need or want help with any problems or issues that EFT addresses, but as some point you surely will. Hopefully you’ll remember what you learned or know where you put the free information you received. Its at that point… when you use it… one a loved one or yourself, that you will learn how valuable it really is.
You’ll be so glad you did!
    XOXO 8^)

I couldn’t find the links for the free book or movie that were mentioned. Could you please post them?

  7. Sarah, I understand your skepticism. I was too the first time I saw tapping, but have since learned tons about it and use it often.

Do you really shut yourself off to things BEFORE trying them? Not a good way to go through the world especially when its free and doesn’t take more then a few moments of your time.

If you want scientific proof sign up for the program with your email and there’s a free download with David Feinstein. A very scietific man and he’s goes over some proof. Also they recently did a study where they found the tapping dramatically decreased cortisol, the stress hormone, as compared to a placebo “talk therapy”.

  8. Joan says:

I too have been quite skeptical about this process…but it might be just what I need, so here goes…thanks!

    Hi Kevin,

Use EFT regularly at the moment with a counsellor friend.

    It’s good stuff!

There is an organization called Association for Energy Psychology. They have a research department that provides a growing amount of information. They are dedicated to meeting the highest professional standards. I’m sure everyone will have many questions answered by going to their website.

I first tried tapping about 14 years ago with my therapist and at that time didn’t really feel a benefit. When I was reintroduced to it recently with the ads for the ‘tapping summit’ coming up I thought–oh, so this technique is still around. I have started practicing it on my own with the help of all the free videos out there right now. And I have experienced a noticeable benefit. The most profound has been helping me with sleep at night. For the skeptics (and weren’t we all at one point) I suggest getting access to the information that explains exactly how it works on the brain. I think that information may be in the David Feinstein download mentioned earlier here.

I honestly don’t think anyone has anything to lose by giving this a try. It’s calorie and pain free. And actually, I correct myself–we all have something to lose–anxiety. (:

  13. Rick Spyder says:

Why not use a positive affirmation rather then bringing your attention to a negative point.
    please explain…

  14. Rick, positive affirmations really don’t “work” all that well. This is because there is so much unconscious stuff in the way. It takes lot of affirmations to overcome this if at all, or other ways around it like hypnosis.

Instead using tapping, you can bypass this problem. You talk about the negative points, first to eliminate psychological reversals with the setup phrase that immediately would stop a normal affirmation. Secondly, with tapping you are removing the “charge” on that negative belief or idea. Once that’s gone you can move forward installing what you want instead.

  15. Julia says:

I’ve been using EFT for the past 6 months or so and it has helped me reduce the symptoms of tourette syndrome, it has reduced anxiety/stress, and has helped in the healing of past traumas.

  16. Ali says:

    Hi Kevin

I’ve always wanted to try EFT and now you’ve given me the opportunity. Thanks and keep up the good work!

  17. Heather says:

Hi Kevin I love EFT. I have been using it to deal with some heavy emotional issues and the more that I work with it the more freedom that I gain. I have discovered that there are many layers to many issues and it is not an immediate fix for some things as I need to work through the layers to get at what is really the issue many times. But boy when you hit it there is no turning back.

I have been told that I am looking younger and healthier and I smile so much more for no reason. I just feel lighter and happier.

Thank you for spreading the word. Our world has been struggling and this is definitely a tool to assist all in it.

  18. Tatiana says:

It is so easy and works like hotcakes! I would recommend it for everyone. Use it on simple worries or big emotional traumas. For my daughter, I call it “happy tapping” and it really helps her feel secure when she is a bit anxious.

  19. Medoh says:

I heard about and then experienced Tapping only within the past couple of months when working with a healer. Yesterday I was feeling nauseous while riding in a van through the mountains in and tried it on myself. This was only from what I’d remembered from the introductory videos/documents leading into this upcoming summit. This kind of energy-related techniques seem to evade me for some reason, but yesterday… the Tapping worked completely and immediately! I was amazed and then, of course, everyone else in the van had to ask what I was doing. So the word is spreading, even down here in Guatemala!

  20. Angel says:

EFT works. I have too many testimonies to list. I started practicing about 10 years ago after learning it in one of my Hypnotherapy classes. I have gone through my whole childhood, let go of old emotions and it has transformed my life. I have also seen monumental shifts in those I have worked with. A great site for the protocol is tapintoheavendotcom
