A Cozy Little Spot Where Western Medicine Meets Alternative Cancer Treatment : Healing Cancer World Summit Night 3 Recap

western medicine and alternative cancer treatments
Is it possible for Western medicine and natural approaches to get along? (Parque de Amor, Lima, Peru)

I’m glad to see everyone (almost everyone, LOL!) has been enjoying these daily recaps for the Cancer Summit…

Again, I wanted to do them to give you a summary of some of the points that I thought were valuable as well as give you the names of resources that were mentioned in the program.

Please keep in mind though, that these are only recaps AND they’re recapped with my own personal bias.

I’m sure if you were to review the material you’d come up with 8-10 different aspects you felt were important.

Today, I’ll recap Night 3 with Dr. Thomas Lodi and Dr. David Getoff.

Let’s get right into it…

1. How to measure inflammation.

Dr. Thomas Lodi starts his talk by explaining inflammation and how to test for it. As I’ve said before, where there’s chronic inflammation there is disease.

Luckily, you can take a blood test and measure you’re CRP – or C-reactive protein – and this will show you signs on inflamation. Optimal levels are less than 1.0 mg/L.

To reduce CRP, if it’s high, adopting the preventative type diet that many of these experts recommend usually does the trick. This includes no processed foods, a high plant based diet and a focus on reducing stress levels.

You can ask any doctor to test your CRP and it’s covered by most insurance.

2. True Integration… a mix of Western medicine and natural understanding of biology.

Dr. Lodi uses IPT or insulin potentiated therapy in his treatment protocols. Here’s how this works…

Cancer cells require glucose to function because they have anaerobic metabolism – meaning little or no oxygen. Because these cells need glucose, they have extra insulin receptors that will help bring the glucose through the cell’s wall. So to administer the therapy, the patient is given insulin to load up the receptors, then given glucose and chemotherapy (a low dose.)

This process increases the drug’s deliverablity to the cancer cells.

It’s a pretty interesting mix of Western medicine and a natural understanding of the body’s chemistry.

If you want to learn more about this from a third party source (though not unbiased,) you can go here… http://iptq.com/

3. How IV vitamin C works…

Dr. Lodi also explains how high dose IV treatment with Vitamin C works. The Vitamin C reacts with copper or iron in the body and hydrogen peroxide (among other things) is produced. Healthy cells have an enzyme called catalase which can get rid of H2O2, but cancer cells do not. This becomes a very important anti-cancer substance.

He also mentions that some insurance companies will pay for this, which is good news – but I don’t think any of the doctors would recommend just IV Vitamin C.

4. Should you drink Hydrogen Peroxide?

There is plenty of information online that you can find about drinking hydrogen peroxide for health.

My personal take is that this should be done under the care of a practitioner that is well versed in this type of therapy, because while your body does produce it naturally that doesn’t mean you should read a book and start doing it yourself.

Dr. Lodi has one warning about this that I think is worth noting…

“Dr. Charles Farr found out hydrogen peroxide stimulates the whole oxidative system, which is the way you kill off foreign invasions including abnormal cells like cancer but you can’t drink it. What Dr. Farr found is that if you drink it, and if it runs into iron in the GI tract from blood that has broken down, then it goes through what’s called the Fenton reaction and it winds up producing peroxide. So he found in some experiments that it can actually produce gastrointestinal tumors. So ingesting it orally, even though a lot of the popular books are recommending that, there’s a risk of it running into iron or some other element that is in the 3 plus state and has to go into a 2 plus state, which is iron and copper. So anyway, in that process is called the Fenton reaction – a well known biochemical reaction.

“But we do it at 0.03% pharmaceutical dose, you get pharmaceutically prepared hydrogen peroxide and we can use that in a drip form. So hydrogen peroxide is very, very important and vital to life in many, many different ways. The only two things you have to be aware of is you do not ingest it orally and number two, there’s a specific way you have to give it at a certain concentration and at a certain rate in the vein because it’s the endothelial cells, which is the cells that are lining blood vessels that have the least amount of catalase; and so if you get too high of a concentration, it will overcome the catalase ability to convert it in the vein and inside of the vein and cause scarring and you will wind up with kind of ropy veins that never return to normal – they’re sclerotic.”

5. It’s not a broken record if it’s good advice.

Dr. Getoff started his presentation talking about how the body can combat cancer.

Here’s what he said…

“I think the most important way to help a body combat cancer is to reduce its toxic load, so we stop consuming the foods that I believe led towards the cancer. We replace them with foods, which support the health of the body. We add in all the supplemental vitamins, minerals and enzymes herbs etc.”

Have you heard this before? LOL…

6. I don’t know about muscle testing.

I have to be honest here, I’m not a huge fan of energetic muscle testing. Dr. Getoff talks about this when he explains how he recommends certain products to individuals.

Maybe I just don’t understand this process enough, but I find it hard to believe that the energetic fields for – in many cases – dead, processed supplements to influence the body’s energetic channels. I also don’t understand – if plastic is so bad – why some people test with the whole bottle. Wouldn’t that have a negative effect? Or is plastic really not that bad to ingest since we are testing if you should ingest what’s in your hand and the bottle right? (Of course counter to all the science about eating plastic that we know about it.)

Anyway, in Dr. Getoff’s defense, you have to know what supplements and foods and other materials to put in the patient’s hand – so maybe there is a subtle intuitive notion that can be interpreted either by the practitioner or maybe the patient themselves.

Who knows, if you’re going to do this type of testing, just make sure you do some research to back up what you tested for!

7. The best news.

Dr. Getoff says this telling quote in the middle of his talk that I wanted to highlight…

“I have never not been able to extend somebody’s life.”

It’s very promising, don’t you think?

8. How the studies really dupe you.

You can’t get wrapped up in cancer number statistics all the time. Here’s why:

“So, for example, you do a study and in the placebo group one in a thousand people get a benefit and the result in another group that’s getting a drug: 2 in a thousand people get a benefit. The math says we’re going from 1/10th of 1% which is 1 in 1,000 to 2 tenths of 1% which is 2 and 1,000 which is not statistically significant and a good statistician would throw it out the door. But instead, the cancer researchers say when you go from 1 in a thousand to 2 in a thousand, that’s a hundred percent increase in survival rate and they publish it that way. And to me, that’s a fraudulent research study because you’re telling the public, what we get out of the news that comes up on NBC, ABC, CBS, Fox, new cancer study was done and this particular drug increase survival time by 100% without anybody even knowing the difference between standard risks, relative risks and realizing that that doesn’t mean a thing.”

What’s also valuable to note is that any increase in percentage of survival and quality of life is significant – statistically or not. Ask the family and friends of that 2nd person in the above study that survived. I’m sure they’ll tell you there’s some significance.

That’s it for my wrap up today!

If you want to dig deeper into all of these aspects, please be sure to get the entire 11 hour program and the additional 6 hours of bonus Q & A here…

This deal ends on November 8th, so be sure to get it while it’s at a great price now!

Your question of the day: Have you had your CRP tested? What were your levels? Have you tried hydrogen peroxide? Do you think muscle testing is appropriate or not?

I do believe that muscle testing works, although it does depend on the practitioner. How the muscle testing is done can make a big difference in the results.

    Hi Kev,
with all my respect;in my experiance muscle testing is extremally accurate when done by a professional.i’ve seen amazing things using it and a lot of very clever people around the world constantly update the proces and uses for it.like everything though,it’s not the miraclecure for everyone…but worth giving a try!(and less invasive then regular tests)

H2O2 meeting with Iron. And will it not meet with much of this in the blood when millions of blood cells break down from old age every 120 days, or so?

So why the extra care that prohibits drinking it?!

Does he have a source to point to for this prohibition, besides chemistry?

I don’t go to dr. Or have ins. So no haven’t had the CRP done. Don’t know about the muscle one so will do some research on that. I have done some H2O2 on my own. Only very little and once a year or so for cleanse. Dr. John Cappello has down stem cell research and has the only vitamin /mineral with stem cell nutrition in it, we are having great results,http://jdimlm.com/miracles. It repairs and replishes your body, letting it heal itself. God Bless

I have been muscle tested by many people and I can always tell when the practitioner has a bias. They push harder! I’m sorry, but that has been my experience.

I occasionally self muscle test by a method taught me by a friend and professional. Place a weight that is a bit challenging to lift from shoulder level with an outstretched arm. That is, it needs to be heavy enough so you can lift it, but not so light as to be too easy to lift. Place it on a shelf or mantle at shoulder level. I use a 5 pound barbell, which is easy to get my hand around, but you can be creative with what you use.

Stand at arm’s length away from the weight, with your dominant hand above and around it. Place the supplement to be tested in the non-dominant hand, and hold it against your heart, asking if this is something you need. If you lift the weight easily, you need it. Then you can ask about dosage – 1, lift, 2, lift, until you can’t easily lift it. You use the highest dosage you could easily lift.

If something isn’t for you, you won’t be able to lift the weight easily.

You can use this method with yes and no questions as well.

One more note, on the subject of IPT. Doctors, including Dr Lodi, will tell you you won’t have side effects from the low dose chemo, and I certainly didn’t have the devastating side effects people describe after full dose chemo. And, while the dose of a drug is only about 10% of what it would be at full dose, you may receive 3-4 drugs at a time, and another 2-3 two days later. I didn’t expect to, BUT I did lose my hair, so not ALL the drugs go to the tumor. I still think IPT is superior to full dose chemo, but people should know that certain drugs can possibly cause hair loss. When I was at Lodi’s clinic last year there were two of us who lost our hair.

I have done a several-week course of oral Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) twice–BUT it was Food Grade 35% H2O2, diluted down to 4 drops in 8 oz. of distilled water 2-23 times a day. It was a great cleanse (heavy metals, you-name-it) and wonderful for dental health, etc. etc. I slowly built up to 14 drops and felt that was enough and backed off.
I would not DREAM of using pharmaceutical H2O2 for anything, inside or out, because I know about the toxic ingredients it contains. (They were put there to keep America sick.)
I did not know about the Fenton reaction until today. If I suffered any ill effects they are not apparent (no sign of gastrointestinal tumors). I still use a 3% solution as tooth-brushing liquid and mouthwash, not to mention as the best household cleanser/disinfectant.
The FDA cannot outlaw FG H2O2 totally to consumers, since companies require it to coat containers before packing food in them. It’s not too easy to find but there are at least 2 excellent sources in the US, and one in the UK that ships to other countries!

put in google search the posted http://jdimlm.com/miracles and nothing came up as a page on a website (so that was disapointing). Found the considerations for H202 interesting and worth seriously researching if someone were to contemplate using it. I have found muscle testing valuable, but have wondered how the bias may possibly enter in. have done it with questions to a class for participants being tested not knowing the question [but the answer is obvious to the class] and it has always proven accurate. Someone mentioned they could tell if the practitioner was biased in the answer by the feel of their hand pressing down harder. That may or may not be something going on with the practitioner, but I have also found if the body intelligence is a definite no on a question then even with a harder push it will still register with sufficient resistance. An interesting book to read on muscle testing (and for other reasons as well) is POWER VS FORCE.

Regarding Dr. Lodi’s IPT, it scares me of how low he is letting his pt’s CBG’s get before giving the chemo which is given in a Dextrose based IV, probably D5LR. Diabetics-IDDM are notorious for having strokes with low blood sugars, probably below 65mg/dL. How low can he go? Doxirubicin full strenght is given over a ten minute period of time, 1cc/1min. Since it causes cancer, the injector wears heavy duty gloves. It is one of the most aggressive chemo’s there are; you will lose all of your hair, all of your red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Being neutropenic is NOT fun at all. Temps of 105 degrees are common, blood and platelet tranfusions frequently, memory loss from lack of blood, body temperature way off (cold) from lack of blood, extreme fatigue and absolutely NO immunity at all. The list goes on and on….AML causes are primarily stress, avoid at all costs!!!!!

I have found muscle testing extremely reliable and effective. I have been amazed at what has been revealed using this technique. Others have wonderrful techniques , but when I try to do it I have difficulty despite having attended a couple of courses teaching and demonstrating the technique, but have learnt that pendulum testing can also be used to test for the things that muscle testing is used to test. I have had more success with this. I like rebecca Cody’s idea and will try that.

Beverly I learnt about muscle testing when studying Kinesiology. It is when I have visited a kinesiologist that they have used muscle testing on me. Other intuitive practicioners have used a pendulum to get yes or no response to questions about my body’s stresses and needs in a similar way to which the kinesiology was used.

Muscle Testing, tried so many times and every time I don’t have peace in my heart. So many doctors proclaim to be very reliable but I haven’t found it to be so. Unfortunately there are so many doctors and natural practitioners/ healers who use it to sell their products. Have been there and done that. I do understand that there might be some “few ones” who really know what they are doing and are worth listening to. That is the exception but not the rule. It is hard because being sick it is not fun and we want to get well, we want the answers so we go to places and pay money hoping this or that will work and find it not be truthful and deliver what they promise. Today I watched a video on Cancer is Curable Now and Marcus was talking about what is necessary to get well. I could relate somehow with the person who listens to the advertisers and believe in “whatever is going to cure you” and trying this and that. Silly I know..expensive too but I am teachable today! I am learning..God is good! He really is changing this lady. BTW ..cream of asparagus every day! Blessings…

I can relate to Kev’s healthy skepticism, but muscle testing as well as using a pendulum (for all its medieval association)has been helpful and surprisingly accurate for years – for me, at least.

Muscle testing is very accurate and always used by my MAYR doctor in Austria to test my food intolerances. While I lay down on my back with one leg up bent at my knee, he puts a piece of food – or a medication he wants to prescribe – on my chest or directly in my mouth. He presses hard to test my muscle resistance. Best is to avoid plastic containers and focus on what we are testing 100%. We can affect the test if biased. Once he placed an organic blueberry in my mouth. It was okay. He then put a non organic one and my leg went down with very little pressure. Amazing! My body had reacted to the pesticides in the non organic blueberry. When I react strongly I wash my mouth with water and spit it out. And we keep testing. Some doctors use one outstretched arm to test and others a pendulum. I prefer my legs. Sometimes they ask you to concentrate on a therapy, for example “should I do the liver cleanse”? We both asked this question the first time I did a a liver cleanse. It went really smoothly. Muscle testing is really useful before having stuff injected that can cause allergies. Once I had a strong allergic reaction to an IV vitamin cocktail. In the clinic they didn’t know about muscle test! So I went to a nearby MAYR clinic with all my IVs and medications and had a muscle test. I didn’t want to waste money on stuff my body didn’t want. Of course, I had to have Taxol with my IPT, but I told my body it was important to “accept” it, even if it had been rejected by the muscle test.

Is kinesiology synonomous with muscle testing?
We all like these ‘treatments’ which involve practically no sweat to ‘learn’.
The lectures have been phenominally interesting and though I hope I never have to use the knowledge, it seems useful to know alterntives to AMA medicine anytime. Thanks so much for putting this on.
The prevention information is invaluable even though it is so similar to eating raw.

Great picture on this page by the way!

I encourage you to look at the work of Donna Eden regarding energy testing. It goes beyond muscle testing and tests the energy flow of specific meridians as an indicator of the health of the associated organs and body systems. As an integrative healthcare professional with a license to protect, this is the only system that I trust.
    Respectful Regards

I did a few weeks of Kinesiology training for my work as an energy healer, with a focus on healing myself and was very impressed. I have always found the use of a pendulum really helpful personally and with clients. I am now trained in the identification of and removal of metals and toxins using Bio resonance techniques not dissimilar to kinesiology. In my experience, all of these techniques work in a similar way.
Personally the Bio kept me from the grave and gave me a life back.
The most reliable results will come when the practitioner is well trained (we did over 500 hrs theoretical research, over 100 hours of supervised testing and another 6 months of supervised training on guinea pigs (thank them all for their patience).
However, results can be compromised if the energies of the testing room are not kept clear (I use meditation, and an essential oil space clearing blend and shield against EMF).
I do not practice if I am tired, ill or out of balance emotionally, to limit the possibility of unclear readings. I also have to stay well focussed (meditation helps) and not allow mental distractions. Questioning needs to be precise, and a good all round health/science background helps you know WHICH questions to ask. If I ask a stupid question I’ll get a stupid result.
And lastly, if the tester and client really don’t feel comfortable together or the client is unusually agitated I would double check results. As with all healers/doctors, dedication helps, humility limits bias and practice makes perfect. Kindest regards Doran, Haworth, UK
