Since then, he’s written and edited 6 books on the subject of natural health, diet and fitness. During this time, he’s constantly been humbled by what experts claim they know and what actually is true. This has led him to experiment with many diets and protocols — including vegan, raw food, fasting, medical treatments and more — to find out what is myth and what really works in the real world.

  1. Chris says:

I drink spring water and filtered when I can’t get to the spring.
How is your waking body temperature and metabolism on a fast? If it is low I would like to know how fast it takes to go back up once you start eating again.

  2. I have a distiller that makes a gallon every 4 hours so I have plenty each day. it really does a great job and I use the distilled water for all my water needs and get my minerals from my green smoothies and raw vegan diet. I have been thinking about a reverse osmosis system for one of the 2 sinks in our kitchen, the prices have come down on those quite a bit.

  3. briannaG says:

I drink reverse osmosis water almost 100% of the time. I add back in minerals (right now I’m using Liquid Light, in the TRHS store).

These updates are really intriguing. I tried to do a water fast on my own once. It was only for a day, but I had to go to work, etc, and I’m pretty sure activity like that messes up the cleansing process or something. Like you were saying, Kev, best not to do anything else except very leisure activities.

  4. Sheryl says:

You are doing great!!! You both look great!!! I am moving towards breathatarism – I keep getting the prompting and I have been pretty much on a liquid diet 99% of the time with a few nuts here & there. Just looking for that Sacred Place and time to make the transition and to be around those who will support me on it. When I released eating salt which was the last ego habit – I soared my mind was so alert my energy trippled. All since of struggle disappeared. I felt so courageous like I can do anything. Amazing!!!!!!

  5. cid says:

Day 3: Glad you feel good Kevin because you look and sound a bit wobbly.

  6. Ryan says:

Favorite song? Wow…I think this is the hardest question of the day yet!

For today I’ll go with “the birth” by Rza

  7. Fontrella says:

I drink filtered water. Favorite song? hmmm, there are so many of them, I will have to choose “Dance Dance Dance” by Mary Mary.

  8. Leam says:

We used to use a water distiller years ago and add liquid minerals back.

The song that has been running through my mind today is Kate Bush – Running Up That Hill.

  9. Janice Woodard says:

I drink filtered water most of the time but have been researching springs in my area. Kevin, you are so mellow!! Are you sure they’re just giving you distilled H2O ? LOL!!

  10. Elaine says:

I began drinking distilled water exclusively in 1992 when the water delivery man dropped four 5 gallon bottles at my door “by mistake.” When he called that evening to schedule a return trip to exchange the water, I had already drunk the first very tasty gallon and changed my permanent order to distilled water. I now distill a few gallons each day (for me and the hydroponic greens) on the kitchen counter.

Eighteen years later, many people tell me how unhealthy my water choice is (I always carry my own), citing both printed and televised nonsense. I respond by asking them to take a good look at my face and guess my age: End of debate.

I suffered through a period of “cold water addiction,” but now I enjoy room temperature, warm, and hot distilled water.

Thank you, Kevin, for this series. A water fast is the most natural cure any animal can take. I began a juice fast earlier this week and have been so inspired by your posts.

  11. Charlotte says:

I drink reverse osmosis water. So you don’t get colonics while you’re there?

  12. Katya says:

I drink filtered water through the AquaPour system.

  13. gilles st. george says:

it is true after 3 days hunger goes away. when i went to truenorth for 2 weeks in june wanted to do 7 days of water.. but looking at all the good food i only did 5 anthen 1 of juice so that i could enjoy the food it is good. hope you stay long enough to taste it

  14. Kirk says:

I drink distilled (mostly at room temp). Saw this from Dr. Group at Global Healing Center.

    http://www.globalhealingcenter.com/natural-health/the-benefits-of-apple-cider-vinegar/

In the morning I make 1 gallon distilled water with 1/2 lemon juice and 3Tablespoons Braggs raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar (with The Mother!). My intake is just over 3 quarts per day for my body weight. Sometimes I add sea salt to the first 20 oz.

Enjoy the rest of the fast – most important part coming up… breaking the fast!

  15. cin says:

Congratulations on your 1st Television Episode of Kimora Simmons Life in the Fab Lane. I searched her site and yours for the green diet drink you promoted. I spent an hour searching and its not there! Done with ya, back to Dr Oz for me!

  16. Cindy in Marin says:

    Hey Kevin and Annmarie-

I just saw your last three shows- how great you are doing this! I have wanted to try a fast myself at this place and now I can do it vicariously through you until I can get the time away(and I really enjoyed Dr. Klaper’s presentation at the recent Health Expo in Santa Rosa). I will stay tuned to enjoy watching your progress.

  17. Irina says:

I drink filtered water or spring water when I can get it. It’s great that you are showing us the water fast- always wanted to know more about water fasting. Thank you, guys!

  18. altopod says:

you look a bit tired in this video – don’t have your usual hyperness.

  19. Randy says:

When I’m not fasting at True North each summer, I’ll usually have distilled water mixed with apple cider vinegar.

I’m currently here at True North for the fifth time–I think you’d agree this is a great place to learn about and apply key principles of taking charge of one’s health1

  20. Dee says:

No, but I use distilled water when I make Gem Essences and when I am making a stock bottle for flower essences. I also use distilled water when I make sprays with essential oils.

  21. Cyndi says:

Kevin I am trying to find out about what happens with your electrolytes? Water will cause excessive urination, in turn potassium depletion.
How do you counter act that happening, unless you are taking a supplement.
I have had problems in the past with imbalance
due to my intake of water…
I was reluctant and had no choice but to take
    K-dur and it was horrible!
How do you suggest I do this “water fast”
I would love to do it!
    Thanks,

  22. Diana (Ohio) says:

I think food always taste better when I don’t have to prepare it.

The best we can do around here is R/O water. Should I be adding anything to it? Sure wish we had a natural spring nearby.

After being a stay at home mom for 15 years now, I would LOVE to get away to do what you are doing now, just a break from everything, including eating.

Thank you so much for bringing us along, you guys look amazing!!

    Diana (Ohio)

  23. Val Jacobson says:

I take care of my cravings right away. No reason to let them linger. ;) -V

  24. RJ says:

Here is one of my favorite songs for you and Annmarie while you are both fasting. It is from 1968 and quite exquisite…

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Cin0QzuEss&feature=related

I have a question about your new community as I would like to contribute more. I will address it to the proper venue, soon.

Till then, enjoy being enlightened while fasting…
    ;)

  25. Both of you before had circles under your eyes (stored starch) which will leave the more you fast if you take enemas. When I use water, I use distilled water that has a tablespoon of dulse blended into a cup of it until the water looks lilac colored, and then I pour the cup back into a gallon of distilled water and drink that. Most of my water comes from watermelon, papayas, blueberries, grapes and mangos though, since I tend to be a frugivore in the summer, like Dr. Wigmore taught me.

  26. Shweta says:

    Ann you look so radiant…!!!

  27. rfk says:

Water distillers do not remove everything, a number of substances such as volatile oils may not be distilled out, but it does take out a lot.

I recently purchased a home distiller and used the rest of a bottle of reversed osmosis water from a huge recognized water company and was surprised to see what remained at the bottom of the ditiller. Has any other home distillers noticed this? Tap water yielded even more.

    Song of the day:

  28. Ray Deckert says:

I`ve had a water distiller since 1980 and about 6 months ago started adding some mimnerals to it because now everyone is teaching that distilled water leaches good minerals from the body. What will they be teaching tomorrow. LOL Thanks for the shows Ray

  29. Thanks Kevin and Annmarie for all your great info!!!!!

I use Clayton Nolte’s water structuring devices, and must say it’s the best water I’ve ever had – thoroughly hydrating, energizing, smooth and satisfying. And our gardens love it too – they are THRIVING!!! You can check out my experiences with it here, http://www.cnswater.com, thanks to my friend Anthea who posted it all! The one thing that all other water treatment systems don’t do is erase the memory that’s in the water (which includes all the energies that the water has been exposed to – toxins, fluoride, etc) – only structured water can do that, so in my opinion, water structuring should be a part of any system to truly nourish us with hydrating balanced alive water.

    Cheers!

    Victoria

  30. Stacy says:

I drink all kinds of water. I am worried about you but, I know that you are having a doctor look after you. I know what you are saying about having the hunger go away. I am on a good carb diet and I do not want snacks or sweets anymore. I will keep watching to see how you are doing. Good Luck.

  31. Page says:

We have a reverse osmosis system in our house, so that’s what I drink. Kevin – you should wear blue more often – that sweater really brought out your blue eyes. As for song – Moola Mantra by Deva Premal.

  32. Randy says:

When I’m at TrueNorth, I fast with distilled water.
When I’m not at TrueNorth, what I find helpful is drinking distilled water combined with apple cider vinegar as suggested by Dr. Edward Group of the Global Healing Center (see globalhealingcenter.com; type in apple cider vinegar or super water in the search engine box of the web page for more information)

  33. Sarah says:

Our water comes from deep wells that feed off mountain springs. I have a question for you:

If a recipe calls for 1 tbsp of agave, how much stevia powder would you use to substitute?

    Thanks for the awesome shows!

    Sarah

  34. snowmoonelk says:

How much water are you drinking a day, Kev?

I don’t drink distilled water but i do put it in my iron, though!

You look fabulous, I must say!

My favourite song, hmm, well here’s my favourite on right now:- Wild is the Wind by David Bowie.

Perhaps you could collect all the suggestions and make a cd!

  35. KAREN BEATTIE says:

I BUY SPRING WATER IN LIHT PLASTIC FROM FRESH AND EASY BUT GLASS CONTAINERS IS BEST. DISTILLED WATER IS RECOMENDED. BATHING IN CLORINE ISN’T GOOD; SO IT IS BEST TO BUY A FILTER. I MISS LIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS AT THE SOURCE OF CLEAN AIR AND WATER PLUS THE STARS NATURE AND FOOD FOR THE SOUL! THE CITY IS DISTRACTING, GROWING UP ON A 30 ACRE AVOCADO GROVE AND WORKING FOR AN ORGANIC FARM GAVE ME A LOT OF HEALTH BENEFITS. WE EVEN HAD SEA VITIMINS AND FOOD FROM MANY SOURCES; MEXICO, HAWAII AND OREGON.I MAKE JUICE AND EAT A LOT OF RAW FOOD BUT HAVEN’T FASTED FOR TOO LONG! THE CRAVINGS,ELIMINATION AND FEELING YOUR BEST IS SO WORTH THE DISCIPLINE!I FIND IT IS EASIER WITH A FASTING FRIEND TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER!

  36. Connie says:

Distilled water? Somewhere in my distant past I heard negative things about it so if I have ever even tried it that soon went by the way. I have heard recently that it is actually good for you, so I shall have to rethink that. In the meantime, the best I’ve been able to do is use a Brita filter.

  37. Micele says:

    I have two favorite songs:
“Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls and “Boys of Summer” by Don Henley.

  38. Josephinesped says:

I used to filter water from the city, or from a neighbor’s well, but the city water is so awful–hey have decided to not flush the water lines each year, and my neighbor has somehow changed his water. So, i am seriously considering a distiller–might set up a solar one for now, cutting and piecing some glass into a point, like an inverted pyramid to place into a hole in the clay dirt. I have some ceramic pots, out of burned-out crock pots from thrift stores. They can catch the water. I eventually will get a gallon size, or two, to keep water in, covered with a plate.
This city water is so full of calcium carbonate, which makes my mscles stiffen and interferes with my digestipn, that I have felt ill for several months now. I finally have decided that my neighbor changed his water system when his well pipes froze. Maybe his pump froze and broke, too.

  39. Filtered water, for convenience sake.

  40. Mandy says:

I love reading about everyone’s different perspectives on water.

Can someone explain why NOT to drink just tap water? I know it varies widely depending on where you live. I’m in Melbourne, Australia, and I’m sure there’s a pretty descent level of ‘cleanliness’ to the water, but I just need someone to tell me why I can’t just use tap water when fasting.

    Cheers

  41. Holo Water says:

    Congratulations to you, both.

And that’s for having the vision to know that you can change the world… one show at a time.

    Peace.
