Hey, Kevin – Looking wonderful beard and all. I am sending wellness waves to AnnMarie – miss seeing her.

Happy you both had a chance to ski on your trip. Great work and play!

I am off my stride for the moment. I do like the way exercise feels afterwards and the benefit. However, I do like exercise. Some of the reasons for not liking exercise have faded away. For example: sweating used to be my nemesis. Now I enjoy perspiring.

I had to get over finding an exercise that I loved. One day, I decided I wanted to find away for exercise to be apart of my self-care routine that occurred like brushing my teeth. That change of mind really got me onto a long term stride. When I travel and go through transitions, I get off track. However I know my way back to success.

My best routine: early morning workouts at a gym with aerobics, weights, and stretching. I like keeping that routine 6-7 days per week. What I love are saunas…

I did Jazzercise for 18 months straight 6-7 days per week and that worked very well. When I moved back to San Diego — I did not find a facility with a suitable floor and schedule to work for me. I hope that changes. San Diego is the birthplace of Jazzericise. They use weights and stretching along with dance routines. It works!

Fun movement for me always includes being outside and being surrounded by natural beauty; fast walking robustly on hard sand along beach fronts really builds leg definition and firms up the backside; hiking along nature trails; and yoga. I love being in the water however the chemicals are challenging in pools, so it is rare for me to indulge.

That’s my story… A few years back, I had no success stories where exercise was concerned — now I have a few. Looking forward to getting back into the morning groove.

    I love love love

    http://hundredpushups.com/week1.html

    http://www.twohundredsitups.com/week1.html

    why I love it:

    1) It’s free! No equipment required!
    2) It sets a goal, and clear steps on how to achieve the goal.
    3) Connecting with other people who are doing it, talking to them on facebook.
    4) It’s a high rep muscle endurance exercise, which means it gets you cut, so ladies don’t have too worry about getting bulky.
    5) You get to look like a BADASS when you casually say “yeah, I can do 100 pushups.” and then drop to the ground and do them.

If you want to join in, great! Modify the program until you enjoy it. For example, on the pushup progrram, I wait double the amount of time they recommend between sets. Add me on facebook and let’s journey together!

I also love seamless exercise, finding exercise that complements my day-to-day life. Today I had to go to the bank and pick up a few things at the grocery store. So I googled my route

    http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&source=hp&q=1654+cherokee+road&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=1654+Cherokee+Rd,+Louisville,+KY+40205&gl=us&daddr=1654%20Cherokee%20Rd,%20Louisville,%20KY%2040205&ei=88hGS-LNFouqNpWjjZAJ&sa=X&oi=geocode_result&ct=directions-to&resnum=1&ved=0CAoQwwUwAA

threw on my backpack and started jogging.

My favorite quasi or pre-exercise-exercise is stretching! It feels fantastic! As a dental hygienist I get all cramped up and feel like my spine is 8″ long by the end of each day, but a half hour of good yoga-inspired stretches is great! One stretch I usually start with is from Liveawesome!- just stand tall and swing your arms back and forth rhythmically without control letting your hands loosely hit your chest and back. This seems to loosen everything up, including my mind!

I wish I enjoyed walking my dog more, but Canadian winters are S#@*! Come spring that will be my favorite exercise.

The Liveawesome workout tutorial videos are fabulous, though I can’t stop giggling at Kevin’s oversized/puffy elastic waitbanded sport pants. Thanks again for all the free help KG!

I love walking in Balboa Park, (I am also from San Diego) or along Mission Bay. I challenge myself by taking stairs whenever possible, (there was a time when I couldn’t climb up even 4 or 5 steps). Now I do bleacher steps and multi-level staircases. I have some exer-machines when I cannot get out in nature including a rebounder. Free-weights and resistance bands have their niche, also. Exercise used to be my enemy, but now I am enjoying it as much as I can fit in.

Wow, Heyward, I used to live right down the street from you. Cherokee Park was an awesome place to wander around for hours. Also I could get happily lost in Cave Hill Cemetery all day. I miss the Highlands.

Out here, though, there are some wonderful wilderness trails just a mile out of town. So I bike over to the trail head, lock up my bike, and go wandering through the high desert, looking for mountain lions. :-)

I only wear Vibram Five Fingers any more and I’m so excited because I just ordered a pair of Flows so when they come I can get back out on the trail without worrying about frostbite. Right now I go out in 11 degree weather in my KSOs but it only takes half a mile for my toes to start to hurt from the cold. I’m thrilled that my winter shoes are on their way! VFFs make my feet feel so playful I just love to walk and run and play. Traditional shoes feel like I’ve got two coffins on my feet anymore.

    Bonjour Kevin,

like you probably know, my favorite exercise is cycling because of this freedom in Nature.. okay on the road. Since we have almost 3 weeks snow here in Normandie, which is very unusual, I can not ride my bike and started to get dizzy and get cold despite my vegan diet. The other exercise is hiking in the NW of the States, where I lived before. I love to hike in mountains and in desert area… be in middle of the nature by exercise. I should become a tour guide instead a molecular virologist in high security laboratories.
    au revoir

Hi Kevin, Happy New Year, Annmarie get well. I love dancing and doing yoga, sometimes I crave for some aerobics with weights, but most of the time I like just moving to the music, including my yoga, and meditation, that’s excersise for the mind too.

I would also hope to get back into inline skating.

If I skip more than a day of some type of exercise, I really miss it!

Anything outdoors is good. Swimming especially. Lake or ocean. Walking, hiking. Indoors is a bit tougher and much less enjoyable. While I like Pilates it’s a hassle to somewhere. At home I’ve been kind of stuck with some weights for upper body, push-ups, etc. Waiting for better weather now! I’d love biking if there weren’t the inhaling other cars’ fumes issue. Biking or hiking with cougars and bears isn’t my thing either. Wrong location!

Thanks for letting us know about your exercise site. Am checking it out now.

I saw a segment on CBS evening news last night about obesity in America. They noted all the money in subsidiaries that are paid to corn farmers by our government, but there are no subsidiaries for produce farmers. They also noted that the American Diabetic Association lists corporate sponsorship from companies that produce food and drink that diabetics should not be intaking, like Coca-Cola.

What if the raw food community got behind changing food subsidiaries that are given out?

My favorite exercise is hot yoga and I’m also very interested in Pilates. I also love hiking, running and Xcountry skiing. The last one (which is btw GREAT exercise) I haven’t done for a couple of years despite the fact that we live in Colorado. I totally agree with you that if you feel that you have to do a certain type of exercise that you (when you deeply look inside yourself)don’t like, you won’t stick with it. I have been doing yoga (different styles) for 10 years now and I cannot see myself not doing it anymore. I know that because if I don’t go for a while I get irritated about it so I guess that is a good sign? We have a gym membership but that is mostly for practical reasons as my daughter takes swimming lessons there. When she takes her lessons, I do a routine and feel great afterwards but like you I can’t see myself going there every day. In fact, when we moved here, we got a gym membership for free at another gym and guess what…I hardly went but I did pay for my yoga classes and went every week.

Thank you for reminding your exercise site. I will definitely check it out !!

I love swimming, body surfing, and walking on the beach, but I don’t live where I can do those things.

I have recently gotten back into Yoga and am really enjoying it. Walking outside is always fun. Especially a great workout when it has been snowing and the roads aren’t plowed yet :)

I like walking or running, depending on how I feel, in the cemetery that is adjacent to my property. It’s quiet, no traffic, and I feel like I’ve “befriended” many souls from many years! It’s both flat and with hills, it’s a mile if I take the “outer belt” but there are many inside roads too, for diversity, so I can just keep going round and round without keeping track of miles. Great place!

My favorite is walking in nature with my husband or sisters/daughters…but only have that opportunity when on vacation. Three times a week I go to the club and do the elyptical trainer and circuit weights – do a lot of walking too…heard a lot of good about rebounding, so thinking of investing – I agree, you have to enjoy or you won’t keep it up! Thanks for the show.

My favorite is basketball and Martial Arts but
I usually over extend my back so most of the time I practice Yoga and rebound jumping. Not as motivating but they do make me feel better after doing them. So I do Yoga and rebounding a few times a week and basketball and karate once every few months.

I have some complex health issues & so my exercise routine has changed quite a bit. I do a lot of physical therapy stuff with tubing, weights, etc at home, as well as stretching. Also go for walks. Use to go ballroom dancing (did it for 20 years ). I do some dancing by myself at home sometimes. Sure do miss partner dancing. Also used to hike. I am continually working on healing & plan to reemerge back into those activities eventually.

    Have a fabulous week-end.

(I am reminding myself what I like!)

Thank you so much for all you share for free! Congrats to Annmarie for winning best skin care on Natural News – yay!!!

    Choreographing dance pieces is #1.

Then every now and then I will rock climb or swim. Roller blading is a lot of fun, but my ankles get MAD sore. Yoga is also once in a while because I get irritated when I do it more than 2x a week.

If you are back in CT…why did you cancel your event at the Heathly Catch cafe? Trying to connect and you were only 2 hours away when in VT. This is the 2nd event that I have made arrangements to travel and taken time off from work only to find the events cancelled. Please… in the future when traveling try and set some random meetup for those that may be in the area that can catch up with you guys even if only for an hour over dinner or someting. I just introduced your show to a friend and they watch over an hour of episodes and said they are only in VT. I would love to meet them.

I’m a big fan of the 100 pushups program too!

    Other than that:
    yoga
    various body weight exercises
    elliptical/rowing/bike in the gym
    hiking
    kickboxing
swimming (unfortunately, I have bad reactions to the pool water now so I haven’t done that in years)

I would love to get to a point where I can run again, and the maybe even take up snowshoeing!

I love exercise videos I can play at home: it lets me spend more time with the pets and gives me a feeling of community without having to coordinate schedules. I’ve been working out with the same characters for a couple of years on rotation, introducing new ones occasionally. Discovered my back problems were due to weak abs, so focus most days on dance-flavored core stuff, like Hip Hop Abs or All-Star Workouts.
