Yes, I was happily watching and smiling and agreeing with what you both said and then it stopped at when you talk about going skiing next week.

Also, the intro is fine (and now sooo familiar) but a little too long, I’m always looking forward to getting right into it.

Happy New Year and thanks for all you do.

Happy New Year may 2010 be the best ever for you both!! My goals are to experiance the best mind, body, spirit health ever. And to get my company off the ground http://www.naturalwayliving.com and to promote my products locally thru the local community maket and the farmers markets.

Love these goals! One of my goals for 2010 is to have a quart of green juice each day. Think I’ll go after the 2 heads of greens a day as well (the green juice will already help me get there!).

I appreciate the two of you a ton. Thanks for the daily encouragement.

Lots of love and Happy New Year!!

Your intro music is so much louder than the body of your video that it blasts my ears when it comes on. I have learned to detest it.

Also, my sources recommend Vit D3 for supplementation, not D2 which is synthetic. Is there newer information that I’m not aware of?

Resolutions? Go with the flow, as the step up in energy is changing everything for me.

I like the two bunches of greens/day–I am going to start with that one.

Also I have been decluttering. The last few years, when my daughter came home for Christmas we went through some stuff and threw some away and donated some. little by little

Last year I made a resolution the beginning of the summer–that I would not buy a pair of shoes for one year. Believe me, that is monumental–hehe. Since the last pair I bought was in March, I have three months to go. If they feel good on my feet, I am going to buy a pair of Vibram five finger shoes.

Love your intro music–will comment more tomorrow.

Hi Kevin and Annmarie – I’ve enjoyed your show for quite some time now…I believe this may be the first time I’ve posted. Thank you for all of the great education you provide. I appreciate your push to avoid the dogmas and seek the truth in what works.

First I have a question…I’m always confused by the measurement of a ‘head of greens’, especially when it comes to spinach. I started drinking green smoothies 2 years ago after reading ‘Green For Life’. I usually put two and a half large handfuls of spinach in a quart of green smoothie. Would this only count as half a head? 2 heads of organic greens a day could get quite costly here in the Midwest, especially with a family of soon-to-be 5!

As for goals in 2010…2009 has been a trying year as my Dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer, had a stroke, and died in a matter of six weeks. He was an active, young 56 years old. Unfortunately 40 years of smoking and the SAD diet caught up with him and there was nothing that could be done. With my dad’s love inspiring, I’m dedicating 2010 to getting my family and household more green…moving to more natural soaps, toothpastes, etc…reducing plastics, clearing out toxins, etc. I’m making it a goal to get me and my kids (and with any luck, my husband) back to 100% dairy-free, which is a real challenge in our surroundings. I am due with our 3rd baby in July and my goal is for the rest of my pregnancy to be vegan and full of greens!

Also, working hard to acquire 8 acres of dream land which is one step towards someday having an organic vegetable farm in the heart of Iowa. :)

Thanks for the 7 ‘Can-keep’ resolutions! I appreciate you two so much! Keep up the good work.

    Thanks,
    ~Nicole

I decided not to make yearly resolutions – to daunting! Instead, I’m going to do monthly ones. My resolution for January is to do some form of exercise every day. In the late spring/summer/early fall I have no problem with this (I exercise mostly outside – no gym membership), but once it gets cold/wet outside I wimp out. This January, no more wimping! I bought a few yoga videos for those days when I cannot stomach the rain anymore.

Heres to a healthy 2010! Love your resolutions guys… maybe I’ll give those a try too – especially number 2! Good advice!

****HAPPY NEW YEAR GIANNIS**** Wow yes they are EXCELLENT goals. Thank you. I was a bit worried I wouldn’t like them but they were all GREAT, I’m in! My goal for 2010 is to MAKE DECISIONS. This will be the YEAR OF DECISIVE ACTION. I get trapped by my head and feel too terrified to close down my options but it just leaves me stuck in a massive rut of procrastination. I have been working hard on this. Now I want to make decisions and STICK WITH THEM. It is only my doubting myself that holds me back. Decisions: Make one. Accept it totally. See where I land. Re-assess. If I don’t like it make a new decision to take me someplace else!!!!!

Btw I appreciate YOU GUYS. Thanks so much for being such a wonderful part of my life and for filling me with hope and inspiration daily. And thanks, Kevin, SO MUCH, for your constant nagging about taking ACTION:-) xxx

Buy a juicer, Run a 5K, and than run some more 5K’s!! I just starting running a month ago..
Also, give my husband as many foot rubs as he gives me and listen, I mean really listen when my children are talking to me. I love the 2 heads of greens per day, I’m a little better than 1/2 way there. Happy New Year you guys!!

    Happy, Healthy, Abundant 2010!!!
My goal for this coming year is to take computer classes the first half of the year, go home (Hollister, CA) for two weeks during apricot season, then come back to Illinois and start my Bachelor’s coursework.
As for my raw lifestyle – stop eating after dark, gettng better about food combining, keep making progress on the emotional eating, and just make positive steps day by day.
Bikram Yoga at least 4X/week and get serious about the abodominal workouts.

Since it didn’t happen in 09 my plan is still to move to a better climate in 2010.

For anyone interested in de-cluttering, there’s a fantastic calendar you can get for free from this site:
http://www.MySimplerLife.com/decluttercalendar.htm The calendar is really awesome to use as a guideline or checklist. I used this year. Very small and achievable steps but WHAT a difference!

My goal is to exercise more–walking with my weighted shoes mainly. Less driving and more walking.

I like the one about saying something nice/encouraging to someone every day! Great idea.

Music? It was good the first 200+ times! Maybe something similar, not too different would be good. I’ll still watch the show tomorrow, lol!

Keep up the good work Annmarie and Kevin. Will miss NYE with you. Last year was fun–online party with you guys and Matt and Angela.

Your comment about saying something nice to someone reminded me of the Compliment Guys from Purdue. They set up a spot with a sign “Free Compliments” and shouted out praise to passers-by.

What a great list – I love these! So many good ideas of things to do this year – thank you both!! :)

I found this article about de-cluttering (NOT organizing) the other day and thought it was right on:
    http://www.happiness-project.com/happiness_project/2009/10/note-to-self-dont-get-organized.html

I have been purging because I’m moving to a house half the size of the one I’m in now in just a couple of weeks; it does feel great to have less stuff.

2009 was bad for me, so my goal for 2010 is to make it the best year ever by finding my true passion and start doing it – one of your seven things! ;-) I also plan to love on my friends and family even more. :)

I’ve always loved your little song! (I was glad when you lowered the volume a little bit a while back though, it used to be so much louder than your show.) The only suggestion I might make is to try a different instrument: maybe an acoustical guitar instead of the little high-pitched keyboard. I love the tune, though…and the gong!

    Happy New Year!! :D

My goal for 2010 is to have a healthy, happy, successful, safe, and eye-opening trip around the world with my partner.

    Travel blog @ http://www.myworldofraw.blogspot.com

Kev/Annemarie – I would love to interview you guys at some point about traveling as a raw foodist. Could be an email Q and A.

    thanks!

Please do not change the music. I identify you to my husband as the “Bwaannng” channel. He knows exactly who you are.
My goals for 2010? Hmmm. How about 1 head of greens a day?
Peace and prosperity. It was a thrill to meet you in August (Ft Bragg). Is it possible again?

  37. Stefanie B
    8:06 pm on December 31st, 2009

Not on the topic– but in reference to blood testing– what do you think of muscle testing or other types of testing of that nature?

  38. Amanda
    9:21 pm on December 31st, 2009

I love the song – every time I hear it I just feel so cheery on the inside lol. But I understand sometimes you just gotta change things, but I still love the song :P

As for goals for 2010… Find some goals! Ahhhh I had goals but I got so incredibly caught up with ONE project that became too much of a focus and pushed out everything else that mattered to me. So I shall be revisiting those things that I thought mattered and seeing if they still do. And I will be letting go of some of the mental space that the ONE project swelled up to occupy, because it was really running me into the ground!

Don’t forget folks, even with great goals, you can still get way too carried away and stressed out! If you’re not having fun anymore because you’re working way too hard at something, it’s time to re-evaluate your approach!

Thanks for a fun year of Renegade Health! It was my first calendar year watching the show, having only discovered you November ’08 :)

  39. Michael T.
    9:22 pm on December 31st, 2009

My goal for 2010 is to grow spiritually. In the past, I have over-emphasized my physical self, and disregarded my eternal self. Now I seek to create balance in honoring all aspects of myself, both the physical and non-physical. I’ve heard rumors that we all have a soul, and now would be a good time to get to know mine.

    Have a wonderful year everybody!

I wouldn’t touch the theme song. I really like it and think it jibes with Kevin’s personality, which is what got me hooked on the show.

My goal for 2010 is getting totally away from nonorganic produce (my favorites are still tempting even when organic isn’t available) and getting rid of chemical cleaners in my house.

  41. Kuru
    9:51 pm on December 31st, 2009

No more dipping back into old habits. No justification. There is always something great to eat that will make me feel great.

I would love to see the gong/music go for the New Year. I either turn off my sound or click into a minute. It’s hard on the nerves. I wonder if the lack of response about it is kindness.

Thanks for the great tips! Happy New Year!

  42. Dawni
    9:52 pm on December 31st, 2009

    Happy 2010…

I do New Year in February…

I love the song…it is all apart of the experience — it is a great preamble. It preps me for what follows…Kevin’s fresh and energetic introduction. I find myself smiling brightly by the time you both show up on the video. It works…

Loved your New Year’s Resolution list. I have adopted two heads of greens a day, more time in the Sun and near the ocean this year. Always growing into my passion and keeping stuff down to a minimum.

We now have 5 goats – 2 females and 3 males. They are apart of the family, as we are vegans.

For now there are olive trees on the property and a mountain spring. A greenhouse is in the plan for 2010. The soil in Chile is rockladen. So in 2010, I will be learning to live my life closer to the land.

Nothing wrong with the intro you’ve got! I enjoy listening to it because it’s so distinctive.

I can cross one of those resolutions off my list right now with the following: I really appreciate you and your show! Your moderate, level-headed, yet enthusiastic approach to raw/healthful eating is very encouraging. Thanks for getting this information out there!

My goal for the new year is to finish my acceptance into the Peace Corps.

  44. Laura
    10:03 pm on December 31st, 2009

More than anything, I want to know, love and serve God more. That is what my goal is at every moment. It is more a desire than a goal.

I really appreciate the Renegade Health Show.

I appreciate every day, the gift of life, given to me by my Creator.

Happy New Year to you and all those you love.

May your goals become a reality, if they are also God’s will for you.

  45. Kym Hutcheon
    10:18 pm on December 31st, 2009

Personally, I love the intro… though it could be a couple of decibels lower in relation to your voices.

My goals for this year… gotta couple of days? But I had a quick browse of The Happiness Project site, introduced by Kat above, and maybe that can help me with my main challenge: staying on trajectory.

One idea for reducing: I have a couple of designated clearing areas and when something catches my attention as being unnecessary, I place it there to make a decision as to whether to toss it or keep it.

Clearing debris can be really overwhelming but when something catches my attention, I put it, for example, in the spot in the kitchen and then figure out what to do with it while I’m waiting for the water to boil, etc.

It definitely helps me to keep up a flow of easy-to-process, incremental steps. Now, if I can just figure out how to apply the idea to other life stuff.

  46. Jill
    11:39 pm on December 31st, 2009

I say keep the intro if you guys want, hearing something else might tend to make the show less familiar as I have just gotten started watching it. Its been awesome to follow you guys so far!

My goals are to get to a healthy weight for my height, go back to school (community college) to finish my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology (especially to learn from, understand and PASS, for my fiance and I to pick a place to move to that is warm and to do what we set out to do business-wise and just generally have even a better year than we did in 2009! Happy New Year everyone!

Just an added note for your viewers who might want to take your advice and get a puppy (if that is what they want)…to not buy a puppy since puppies in pet stores come from puppy mills (commercial breeding facilities where dogs live a nightmare of a life…being bred over and over, never leaving a rabbit hutch type cage, not getting medical care or quality food and often exposed to the elements in the freezing winter or 100 plus degree summer)… Please advise anyone wanting a furry companion to visit their local shelter or contact a rescue group. One of the things about living a better life to is make it a better life for the planet and others too…. I think that one of the best ways to start in that direction is to care for animals…
Thank you for all you do…. your program has made my life better….

CONGRATS on Best of Raw Awards!!!
    Great Job!
Keep the theme song. It brings our family together to watch your show. My oldest son has
a special “dance” he does each time he hears the music. Please, Please don’t change it!
Goal…one of many is to get back to a more tolerable climate. Our family has not done well with the Frigid temps of Colorado. This has an impact on so much that we do. Great place to visit. Glad to have experienced it myself but time to move on to the next adventure.
    LOVE the show!

Energy on both you guys looks attractive and great enough to inspire me to go raw! Agree with your wife, the idea of changing to a more slow easy going intro music is right on it…a combination of both…what is on now and something more, less captivating.
You guys are wonderful and have the right spirit…you are changing lives.

    K & AM –
Happy New Decade to you both.

Ive been watching your shows for over 2 years – close to the beginning I think, back when you had Fitness Friday’s and talked more about research reports & what they mean. . . Waaay before you took your message on the road. Then you taught us all about the big world out there. And shared experiences that mayn of us will not be able to have ourselves.

I have learned so much and am still happy to be learning right along with you both.

Two heads of greens seems a lot when you don’t have a juicer, and can’t afford a Vitamix.
I really haven’t aquired a taste for the bitterness I experience with Kale, either.
Maybe I’m buying the wrong kind of Kale?
Maybe it’s not ripe, or too ripe?
    How can I be sure?
Please show receipes on how to get both heads of greens into my daily diet.

Please keep the raw cooking shows, but
SOME cooked foods would be O.K. on a VERY LIMITED basis – like maybe once a month.

Thank you for all you do!

    I appreciate you both!
Keep the lead in music AND closing music! (It gives me time to digest what you’ve said!)
I’ve ended every statement with an exclamation point, so I can’t back off now!

    Happy New Year!

I depend on the goofy loud intro…but if “you” need to change it, so be it…by the way while you guys are on tour can you stop at some little “po – dunk” towns along the interstate, like North Platte, NE?? Us folks in rural areas could really use your support, motivation and expertise! More than Happy New Year! Nancy

I already have replaced 1 or 2 meals a day with my green smoothie or energy soup (usually both during the day). This year’s resolution is to make fresh juice (with greens as well as fruit) at least once per week. I would drink this on a morning that I don’t start the day with coconut water.

I have been able to keep my resolutions for the past 2 years because I made them attainable. The year before last was to be more consistent with getting to the gym and last year’s was to incorporate 20-30 minutes of stretching at the end of my workouts at the gym.

    Hi Guys!
My goal is to organize more fitness fundraising events via facebook to raise money for all sorts of different causes! I did one before Christmas (I was motivated with x-mas spirit) and then though – hey I can do this whenever and always! It doesn’t just have to be a Christmas thing and with facebook it’s soooo easy to organize events! Also I want to be more focused on being a great mom to my 3 little ones!
Regarding the song I have thought in the past that it’s a little….hmmmmmm how do I say this without hurting your feelings???? Loud and yes hard! Perhaps Over The Rainbow would be nice!!! Tee hee!
Happy 2010 everyone – love to all!

Hey, just found your site and am looking forward to going back through your posts. I am making a goal to get back to healthy eating for me and my children no matter how hard it is. (I say this as I just spent an hour with a crying almost 5 year old who didn’t want to try her vegan sloppy joe) I have let myself get really unhealthy as I fed my junk food husband and gave in to quick fix eating for my kids. NO MORE!

And for Steve who wrote about how to get the greens without a vitamix – I just have a basic $25 blender and it liquifies greens without any problem as long as I do the greens first then add fruit.

    Blessings!
    Amy

    Hi Kevin and Annmarie,

Happy New Year to you! I like the song. Hey I try to do the 2 heads of greens in my smoothies. Usually I have to do that baby spinach in the container. About how much is two heads of spinach?

    Thanks and God Bless you,

    Marie

    Greetings from chilly Saskatchewan (-20F),

Love the goals and the best day ever dreaming. One I personally resinated with was writing down the question “What can I do today that is healthier then I did yesterday?” I truly believe if we want different answers, we have to ask different questions. I wrote it down immediately and posted it on my inspiration wall next to you and Annmarie’s reserved picture and noteable quote spot (still have to print out a good picture). I’ll send you a picture when the wall is substantial enough to show off lol. I have reserved an entire wall in my bedroom and another one around my office / computer room as living inspirational masterpieces. Cutout pics of dreams, inspirational quotes from motivational speakers and spiritual leaders, goals, visual stimulants, beautifully designed organic food labels and other cool pictures to inspire me to be the change I wish to see in the world.

Funny you mention cleaning and organizing. For Christmas this year I made my mom a homemade card with the words ORGANIZE pasted inside it. I’m currently going from room to room in the house organizing and cleaning. Because I’ve seen the amazingly positive benefits of what great organization and cleanliness did for my life, I wanted to give that feeling to my parents. My mom is a bit of a pack rat and can never bring herself to throw out anything that “might” be of some use later. All of my grade 3 school work is still kicking around here somewhere lol.

    Goals

So far I have recorded 154 goals in my journal so I’ll save you all the time and I’ll just write down a couple that might interest you Kevin.

In no particular order of significance:

#14 To personally talk with Kevin Gianni
#119 To join the inner circle

About the last goal, I’m trying to complete it as I speak but when I click on the 30 day test drive I get “An error occurred and we were unable to complete your request.” Not to worry, I’m sure it’ll work its self out.

For my goal to personally talk with you Kevin, I have come up with 2 possible ways. 1) Hope you end up here in Canada sometime in the new year and make an effort to meet up with you or, in my opinion, the most direct and straight forward solution. Ask you call me when you have a spare 5 min. 306-862-6331. You can only say no right?

To Kevin, Annmarie, and the renegade health gang; I wish you all THE BEST YEAR EVER!

    Much Love and Support,

    Jordan Lidster

PS Congrats Kevin and Annmarie on taking the best v-blog show of 2009 on the best of raw awards. You earned it.

I like the song, but it’s hard to be objective since I’ve heard it almost 10 times a week for a year or so! It kinda works, who created it and how?

If you are in the Bay Area, not only is the foraging invitation still open, but if you want to throw the football aroud for some exericse, that would be awesome. Like your guy, Roethlisberger, who doesn’t get best QB playing kudos often enough in my opinion.

This year we (my husband and I) have resolved to make a change a month to get us closer to high raw. For January we resolve to replace dessert with raw desserts. We each have a strong sweet tooth and know that raw desserts are a satisfying way to cut back on the junk that is in traditional sweets. My husband has started a blog to document our experiments with raw desserts. Check it out and leave use some ideas to try at http://www.rawmuffin.blogspot.com. We appreciate you, Kevin and Annemarie, and your viewers who share their insights and comments. We posted the question, What can I do today that is healthier than what I did yesterday?, on our refrigerator. Thanks again.

Happy New Year Kevin and AMG!

Financial goals: Buy a vitamix and a treadmill this year.

Personal goals: To find balance. That will be the tough one for sure. Not sure how I will do it, but have to think about it everyday.

Helping others goal: I’ve inspired most everyone in my office this year start in a step contest to encourage everyone to get more exercise. The buy in is $20 and the person with the most steps at the end of the month gets all the money. Maybe everyone will develop better habits.

My resolution is to be more healthful.

As for the music, I try to hit mute before the music. It doesn’t appeal to me. I can’t listen during my lunch hour at work

One of my goals is to drink a quart of greens for breakfast. I had been working up to this now for a few weeks and was able to start that this year! So far so good :)

I’m with Annmarie on the song. Too much and to long.

I decided to do my first 14 day detox to start off this year. It is a lot harder than I thought. I have had cold symptoms, headaches .. but I know it will pay off if I stick with it!

Happy New year I hope all the best for you guys. I always turn down the speakers until the intro is over, Sorry Kev just to noisy for me.
As for the question of the day, I am going to try to get motivated again, I am bored, bored, bored, with eating period. I need something new. Green smoothies are great but get boring.I do like Annmaries cooking shows but I still get bored easy. I have been doing raw for long time now but feel myself slipping. HELP!!!

    Kevin/Ann Marie,
What do you consider a head of greens? I love smoothies, but was wondering how many constituted a “head”.

    Thanks

Love these goals. I need to do the “what is my passion exercise”. One of my goals is to buy a dehydrator, a good one. Another one is to reorganize my kitchen and stock it with healthy ingredients.

I love this post!! My two main goals are to exercise more (especially cardio) and make more money.

Goal 1: Do one cardio exercise a week. Either dance class, riding bike, or hiking.

Goal 2: Write down ways to earn money and decide which of those I’m most excited about.

I personally like the song. I’ve been incorporating 1 head of lettuce into my smoothies per day. Wow you want me to put 2 in my smoothies? Okay done! Any lettuce in particular you recommend?

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi! I love the intro song – mostly because I have a 22 month old little girl who likes the intro music – it makes her dance and smile. She runs into the room when she hears it and we sit in my computer chair together – we do this at her naptime – that’s when I can catch up on your shows. She likes the intro music and will often dance a tiny bit to it, then eventually falls asleep on me while I watch the rest of the show (don’t worry – I always tell her what she missed, hee hee hee). :) :) :)

I think I will do more ice skating, I used to skate alot for fun but haven’t had much time in the past 2 years, so I would like to make time for it again. Happy New Year! XOXO

Thanks for sharing all your great ideas for the New 2010 Year! I bought myself a Montel Health Master for Christmas. I love it! It makes doing the smoothie and green drinks so much easier than trying to use a blender. So I m trying to do more fruit, veggies and raw into my daily life. Also do the right thing with the right water for my body everyday! you can also clean with the water and many other things stop buying the harmful chemicals. I really like your list of goals for 2010 especially since I have most of them covered already. There are a couple I am going to add to my goals for 2010 and they are to post the question “What can I do today that is healthier than I did yesterday?” on my fridge at home and on my desk at work, and to organize/de-clutter starting with my bedroom closet and my filing gradually working up to my storage room. My most important goal for 2010 is to get involved in a good Church and develop a closer relationship with Jesus. My other goals are to work on healing Mind, Body & Soul, and to be able to run again by the end of 2010.

I look forward to another year great shows with the Renegade Health Show. Thank you, Kevin and Ann Marie for all the work you put into providing such interesting and informative shows.
