Hi Kevin and Annmarie,

Kevin, you seem like such a sweety. I have just recently tuned into your show after I downloaded your ebook (from Lucas at Yoga Body). Thank you for sharing your views, resources and knowledge with us.

I enjoyed this video, much more open minded and reasonable than Dr Young. I’ve been following his stuff with interest for about a year but after seeing him interviewed on your show, I am completely off him. He comes across rude, judgemental, alarmist and over generalising.

Anyway my experience with health is that you have to trust your own body. You can read a lot of things and start to believe they are true and then force yourself to follow the advice of other people, even though your body is screaming out for something different.

I was a vegan and it did not work for me. Prior to that I was vegetarian for over 10 years. I had no energy and became very ill. I was lacking in protein because I had been told over and over again by the vegetarian movement that you do not need to worry about protein. Ever since I changed my diet and made protein a priority, I feel 100 times better and rarely get sick. I developed hypoglycemia while I was vegan (low blood sugar problems) and protein alleviates this condition.

I have eliminated all sugars from my diet (including honey and agave - which in terms of calories and effect on your blood sugar levels - are exactly the same as processed sugar as far as your body is concerned), I eat protein at every meal and snack (I try and eat vegetable protein but I find it does not stabilise my blood sugars the way animal protein does. I eat stacks of eggs (at least two per day)), I also eat a green smoothie most days which consists of ½ a head of greens and low GI fruits. I limit fruits because they are too high in sugars. I eat probably one a day.

So now I eat as many fresh whole foods as possible but I also eat as much protein as possible (and few grains). I find this works for me. If I try and just eat vegan foods, I feel very ill (my blood sugar just fluctuates too much).

If you’d told me a few years ago I would go back to eating meat I would not have believed you! But my health is about 100 times better since I quit veganism. I've also lost weight and have more energy to exercise. I eat mostly fish and chicken, eggs and raw milk for protein.

Do what works for you!

Oh I also tested my pH for the first time this morning and it was 9 (alkaline). Not sure what that means as I haven’t eaten any greens the past couple of days (holiday season) and I ate a lot of eggs yesterday.

Note to Joan: Set up an email filter so the emails go into a folder and bypass your inbox.

Note to Kristen: I sympathise with you. When I was vegan and following all the advice to the letter and feeling like death warmed up, I felt so frustrated when all my meat eating friends were so much healthier than me! Try increasing your protein intake! Eat a free range organic egg and then see how you feel afterwards. I’ll never forget my first egg after being vegan for a few years. I felt full for the first time in years! See what your body feels like though for yourself. I also agree with Michael T. Vitamin D is a major factor in your immune system. Also hand washing is important (wash your hands throughout the day after you touch anything anyone else has touched).

PS Climate change stresses me out.

Money. Always money. How does one feed their family right and still afford other things - like a house? Money = stress.

#59 was pretty stressful. Cancel, cancel and let the energy drain out of my palms into the floor! Stay grounded thru the bottom chakra, rise through the crown chakra.
Whew! and Love,

To Linda re Fibromyalgia,
Try toaking Healthforce Nutritionals Nopal Cactus....at least 3000 mg/day with food.
Helped me out!!!
And stay alkalinized. Pomegranates are quite acidic. ?3 heads greens?

What used to stress me out was not having a support system of like-minded people, but the world is changing! This website is fantastic, and healthy lifestyles are becoming so chic! Take Alicia Silverstone's new book and website The Kind Diet and The Kind Life, respectfully. There is a mainstream market who is buying in fast! Also, a fantastic book called 'Skinny Bitch' promotes real vegan food and some raw, with a powerful anti-crap food message. I recommend these books to the smart folks in my life, and they are agreeing with the message!
I have been vegetarian and then vegan for over 12 years, and at one time my friends and family thought I was some crazy hippie child, and now they come to me excited to share their new similar beliefs!
I'm also delighted to see the The China Study IS making an impact in the world. I read it last year, was astounded by what I read, then stood back in bewilderment as the world seemed to reject the book! I googled it at the time and could not find any commentary from the public, and even posted a Yahoo Ask to see if anyone had read or heard about the book. No one! So I am so happy and relieved to hear you guys talk about it.

Stress? What stress? I'm a Cub fan! There's always next year, so what's to stress about? LOL! Actually, what stresses me out is lies - even the lies I tell myself. Those are the worst. ;)

Negative energy.

QUESTION: I'm convinced I have candida. How did you test yourself for candida? Is kombucha ok to consume if you're fighting candida? Is it too sugary? I know I am supposed to avoid grains, but what if they're sprouted? How long did it take you to beat candida?

candida, candida, candida!

Great Show !

I get stressed out when I have more challenges than I have time & or money to deal with. During those times I have felt alone thinking that the buck stops here so what is my next plan or option....that stresses me out as I go about a 100 miles an hour & I do become tired.

In stillness or during venting to a caring ear I reconfirm that I am not alone. I have much gratitude for all that is in my life.

My friends, family, sources or information & new options that are constantly revealed uplift & carry me forward with creativity & new opportunities that bless me with new hopes & dreams.

Love, Light, & Peace,
Cheryl Holt
