It’s an important question to ask…
“Why can’t pregnant woman take the nasal swine flu vaccine?”
I think pre- and post-natal nutrition and exposure limits are where we should be looking for most of our health guidelines.
I also answer questions about inoculation and vaccine effectiveness as well as my own running training protocol.
Take a look…
Your question of the day: What do you have still that is leather?

Thank you so much. You said exactly what I’ve been thinking. Why aren’t there more studies and research on the flu shot. Everyone just takes it. I work in a hospital and they frown on you if you don’t get the flu shot. And Why are they mandating it in New York!!!! That’s scary. What will they mandate next. It’s all so sketchy! All vaccines are not researched as much as they should be. And Yes if pregnant woman can’t take it why can we????????

Shoes that were bought several years ago.The last pair of walking shoes I bought are vegan. A lot of vegan shoes online are quite expensive. I have small feet, size five and so it can be quite a challenge to find vegan or any shoes in my size in stores. I did manage to find a pair at a great price online. Here is the link: http://www.shoebuy.com/grasshoppers-stretch-plus-lace/203421/448778. Super comfortable.
Happy week-end everyone.

so i may be in the minority here, but yes, i do still have leather. i am not exactly on a mission to eliminate it from my wardrobe, but i am no fashionista who uses boots for one season and throws them away.
I consider myself a naturalist, and just like in my food choices (i’d rather eat raw fruit and veggies than synthetic vitamins). i think leather is breathable, durable, natural. i also have wool and cashmere. the leather i choose to have are shoes i know will last decades – still have a pair of boots from 1992. i cant bring myself to buy man-made synthetics – doesnt feel right for me…including synthetic thermals from Patagonia (i’d rather buy silk).
i feel like, if “consumed” in a conscious way, having dead animal products is ok. especially if the synthetics are poorly made and break easier – just more waste. leather probably biodegrades quicker anyway.
Kevin – 2 things for you:
1- THANK YOU for sharing your training meal plan. i dont know if it felt weird to share that you eat cooked food for dinner, but i think its a great choice and you are healthier than a lot of 100%-ers out there.
2- I would LOVE you to do a segment, or a series, on HOW and WHEN to take supplements. while i dont eat “vitamins”, i do have a shelf of life-enhancing supplements that i am unsure of how to combine. example:
-MSM
-algae – DHA (i am a nursing mom)
-evening primrose oil (balancing hormones and combating winter dryness)
-probiotics
-digestive enzymes
-Marine Phytoplankton
-New Chapter organics healing mushroom immune builder
not including the smoothie ingredients: maca, tocos, shilajit, vitamineral green, etc…

70 doses of 16 vaccines that doctors now give our children between the day of birth and age 18..New study demonstrates significant harm from just ONE mercury-containing vaccine
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A new study, just published in the journal Neurotoxicology, found that primates that received just ONE vaccination containing Thiomersal, the mercury-preservative found in many vaccines including the new AH1N1 (swine flu) shot, had significant neurological impairment when compared with those who received a saline solution injection or no injection at all. Please note that the amount of Thiomersal was adjusted for weight and that these primates received only 2mcg – the new Swine Flu vaccine contains 24.5mcg or 49 times the FDA allowable daily limit for an adult
I’m sure my shoes are leather…
Speaking of chia, I finally got brave and made some chia gel this morning (after having bought the chia a few months ago). I mixed it in the soak water from some goji berries that I bought a couple days ago and rehydrated overnight last night. First time for goji berries, too, so I was realy wondering if I was going to be able to EAT this stuff, lol. To make the challenge even stiffer, I poured the mixture over my fruit salad to which I had added some walnuts and carob chips. Turned out pretty good, and kept me going until just now (supper).
Have a great weekend!
First of all it takes all of us collectively do our small part to make a difference in the poplulation. We have collective done our small part on helping create global warming by driving big cars that contribute to the effects of global warming. We all need to think when we make a chose and that will affect the next 7 generations. We have collectively decided cutting down the rain forest is ok and many do nothing to stop, so bottom line by inaction we have collective chosen this to happen. WE have collective decided that have many layer of packaging is ok, so collective we keep the cycle going. WE collective have chosen to not to recycle(only 12% of plastics get recyled) and most end up in the oceans. If WE had collectively chosen to keep our families to two children, but collectively WE as a world have chosen to increase the population. It takes a collective effort from people individually to make a difference. HOPE you decide to collectively make a difference in all your decisions and think about the impact it will have on your children and grandchildren and the next 7 generation. Not just immediate needs and wants.
A have a couple very old leather coats. I keep them because they work well in the winter weather. Haven’t bought any new leather in many, many years.
I have a question that I haven’t found the answer to anywhere. What is the best way to clean nut milk bags?
My shoes are also suede/leather. I bought them about 15 years ago as a reward when I lost some weight. They are on their last legs though and I will be more vegan aware when I finally do replace them. I believe that it is being irresponsible to our planet to just replace a product that still has some life left in it. Our landfills are getting overtaxed as it is with perfectly good products that someone just wanted a replacement for. I’ll get off my soapbox now
As for exercise, I do work out 3-6 times a week. This last month I took it easy and reduced to 3 times because I was undergoing a cleanse. My body didn’t seem to want more vigorous activity. However, now I’m raring to get back into it. I alternate cardiovascular with weight lifting and I use a DVD program to guide me.
Thank you for this show! These were all topics that I had had on my mind recently. Just this morning I took some elderberry syrup and saw the bottle said “not to be used during pregnancy”. That gave me pause for thought. Very interesting thoughts you had on this matter.
I for one absolutely miss Fitness Fridays. I have a bunch of them saved as favorites and have incorporated a lot of your fitness ideas into my routine. I have a chronic heart/nervous system disorder, but I am very fortunate to have a cardiologist who agreed to work with me strictly with diet and exercise instead of drugs. He wanted me to see a trainer to come up with an appropriate fitness routine, which I did. I told her of your routines and she approved of me using them. Thank you for the archives so others who had not seen them at the time have access to them.
I so wanted to get Vibram five fingers but I could not get me toes to cooperate. Does Annemarie wear them also? The retailer I was shopping at says that they just don’t work for all people. I was so disappointed. They seem like the most ideal foot covering but it defeats the purpose if ones toes can’t fit in properly.
As for the ? of the day – I have leather shoes that I’ve had for many years but my most recent shoe purchases have not been leather. I agree with Luann’s comment on this.
Again, thank you for this and all the shows you post!
Most of my stuff is fake leather, except for a few items passed down to me after my mother and father died and that I purchased many years ago. My real leather boots/coats have out lasted the fake leather/suede stuff. As a rule, I do not purchase anything made of leather now.
The name escapes me now, but they are hoodies, no zippers pocket in front for your hands, made from hemp, now those babies with a long sleeved t-shirt under, keep you warmer than my leather! Even on the back of a motorcycle! My friends call them my “Hippie Hoodies”, they’re called something else though.
Anyone remember?
A few old shoes and belts r made from leather but I have not bought anything leather in over 15 years. Bought a nice pair of leather free sneakers from mooshoes. A good point about pregnant women in fact I work in a elementary school and speak with many expecting teachers and parents and often give them some handouts on health related issues but I do not like wasting paper and there are so many resources online so I am in the process of starting up a non commercial web site for pregnant women. I would like to eventually expand it to young children,adults and seniors because your right we all should be eating more raw fruits and veggies and exercising; One area that I do not hear you talking about which is extremely important is our mental health. STress is the most important factor in maintaining good health. I meditate an hour in the morning and night; Just did a 10 day silent meditation (Vipassana) retreat which was amazing.
Kevin,
I think we already have had enough studies with vaccines. The problem is that scientists are paid off and their pay is tied in to their promotion. We already know they are not good and cause the infection they proclaim to stop. What we need is the promotion of things that are not vaccines that work like colloidal silver, Vit-D and Vit C, systemic enzymes, and raw foods.
I have a purse, a coat, and some shoes that are leather. I have had them for a long long time. It would be a waste of the cow that bestowed them upon me to simply trash the leather. I want to honor this cow by not throwing it away just to say “look mom, I am animal conscious now”….but then would I be Earth conscious??? I kept them in good condition all this time. I’m not buying any more leather, but to trash it would be not honorable to mother Earth. We need to look at our total lifecycle waste with everything we buy. The leather I have had has been a good investment in this sense. I am also one to keep a car for a long long time. My car is nearly 10 years old and running smoothly. Take care of your things and you have less waste overall. Honor everything and everyone that comes into your life..as well as yourself. That is the rule I follow.
I did give out all of my leather stuff about 6 years ago & only sought out non-leather goods, i.e. shoes, handbags & wallets, then my daughter introduced me to vintage shopping. I just love Cowboy style boots, and yes there was a pair that I thought fit me just right. After a lot of hemming & hawwing I bought them for $35, a bargin. It’s probably karmic, but the first time I really wore them I got a big fat blister, which I’m still healing from. Now I’m feeling guilting for ignoring my ideals for what I thought was a good bargin. Next time I’ll stick to my ideals…..NO MORE SKINS!!!!
Once I became more aware it actually bothered me to sit in my leather couches so we sold them and I bought non-leather furniture. I do have leather seats in my car, it comes standard in the car I drive, I would prefer the new microfiber so hopeufully that will be available when we turn in our car.
I actually lost weight when I cut down on exercise, I could not lose weight no matter how much I worked out, even running 2 1/2 hours a day. When I cut back to yoga, pilates and low impact aerobics I lost 5 pounds very quickly. I find that heavy weights and high impact aerobics cause my body fat to skyrocket, I have no idea why that is. It also causes me to retain water.
From Paul Nieson’s newsletter today I read about contents of swine flu vaccines:
“Below are the contents of the H1N1 vaccine that the World Health Organization (and soon too the US Government, via Executive Order or treaty) will be mandating that we all take? The contents might surprise you.
* aluminum hydroxide* aluminum phosphate* ammonium sulfate* amphotericin B
* animal tissues: pig blood, horse blood, rabbit brain, dog kidney, monkey kidney,
* chick embryo, chicken egg, duck egg* calf (bovine) serum* betapropiolactone
* fetal bovine serum* formaldehyde* formalin* gelatin* glycerol*squalene
* human diploid cells (originating from human aborted fetal tissue)
* hydrolized gelatin* mercury thimerosol (thimerosal, Merthiolate(r))
* monosodium glutamate (MSG)* neomycin* neomycin sulfate* phenol red indicator
* phenoxyethanol (antifreeze)* potassium diphosphate* potassium monophosphate
* polymyxin B* polysorbate 20* polysorbate 80
* porcine (pig) pancreatic hydrolysate of casein* residual MRC5 proteins* sorbitol
* tri(n)butylphosphate,
* VERO cells, a continuous line of monkey kidney cells, and
* washed sheep red blood”
I think that if everybody new about this content they would never want to inject it in their bodies, especially of pregnant women’s.
It’s not sutable for vegans, because it has animal tissue in it with the blood (The Bible prohibits eating blood) and it’s not suitable for any human being, because there is human tissue in it from aborted fetuces. We are not cannibals.It’s very clear, that all that connected to depopulation issue, political matter, not health saving matter. Squalene also makes people infertile, according to the information from Health Freedom Organisation website.
I ride motorcycles – fast – so wear leather jackets, pants, gloves and boots. No other natural or man made fibre is going to keep my skin on my body if it meets the bitumen.
For those wanting to avoid the flu vaccine – my mother was not allowed to have it due to egg and sulphur allergies even though she needed flu protection due to bad lungs.
The swine flu wasn’t nearly as bad as expected/predicted down here in Australia. They kept scare mongering on the news by broadcasting how many had died but strangely enough they didn’t broadcast how many had died from the common flu.
Thanks for mentioning the Viran Five Fingers. I was hoping they would have conductive soles to simulate barefoot grounding to the earth, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Regarding the H1N1 vaccine, you raise a great question – wish you had the answer – what is different about the nasal vs injection? Logically it seems the injection into the shared blood would pose the highest risk to unborn.
I have a few concerns that you didn’t raise:
1. It not clear that these nano particles are in the vaccines or nasal spray. But nano “buckyballs” scare the hell out of me:
Found info on CDC site. One is left to presume that the “weakened live virus” in the nasal spray could somehow affect the baby. But the site does not explain how.
Are there flu vaccines that pregnant women should not get?
The seasonal and 2009 H1N1 flu vaccines can by given by shot or by nasal spray. Pregnant women should get the “flu shot”—a vaccine made with killed flu virus. This one is given with a needle, usually in the arm. The other type of flu vaccine—a nasal spray—is not approved for pregnant women. This vaccine is made with live, weakened flu virus. Nasal spray flu vaccine should be used only in healthy people 2-49 years of age who are not pregnant. The nasal spray vaccine is safe for women after they have delivered, even if they are nursing.
I’m gonna be controversial here for just a second, I have a leather wallet leather shoes, leather belt, leather lounge suite, and leather seats in my car, it is so much more practical it LASTS!!! you can’t stain it it doesn’t matter if you spill stuff on it. My parents have had Rv’s most of my life some with leather seats some not, again the leather was so much more practical if you ever eat on the go like we did it doesn’t matter if something is spilled or whatever once a chocolate bar was left on a seat and fell open and melted all over it but it was no big deal all we needed to do was get a wet cloth and wipe it off, i can’t imagine the drama that would have been if it was cloth, and i know you wouldn’t use stain protection because of all the nasty chemicals, I don’t feel guilty about killing animals for food or their skin. I respect a lot of what you have to say here but i tried going fully vegetarian and was constantly hungry no matter how much i ate, now fruit and vegetables make up about 60-70% of my diet, with lean meats and whole grains making up the rest. everyone to their own. Oh and back to leather maybe i missed somthing but i don’t see what your problem with it is?
Fruit makes me spacey too…Can you say more about this on your show please Kevin.
How much fruit do you have? does the GI load of the fruit make any difference? Is it the fructose that is the problem? Are tropical fruits less problematic? Does combining fruit with greens or flax in a smoothie mitigate things?
i dont want to eat lots of fats either.
I eat sprouted buckwheat and sprouted legumes to avoid overdoing fats or fruits. I think I will have to start doing some cooked foods for dinner too.
10:04 am on October 17th, 2009
Hi Kevin!
Just had to chime in with my fruit experiences…
I find fruit makes me crazy, too, BUT ONLY when I don’t eat enough greens. When I eat enough greens, then I feel WONDERFUL eating lots of fruit and even better than when I eat low or moderate amounts of fruit. What is enough greens for? Well, for me it’s 1.5 lbs of greens or more a day…I know that is a lot, and it ends up being 2 green smoothies with 1/2 lb of greens each + 1 green juice with 1/2 lb of greens a day. I was wondering if it’s possible that you’re simply not eating enough greens to balance out the fruit, since too much potassium in fruit that is unbalanced by sodium and other minerals can interfere with efficient electrical and nerve communication among neurons (just look up brain cells/neurons and signal transduction; your brain requires a certain balance of minerals for effective signal transduction)? I’ve actually had this exact thing happen to me, but was able to fix it by eating a lot more greens. In particular, I feel worse on an all-raw high fruit diet with less than 3/4 lb of greens a day than I do on a healthy cooked food diet with less than 3/4 lb of greens a day (this sounds identical to what you are describing!). However, I feel amazing and the best on an all-raw high fruit diet with 1.5+ lbs of greens a day, and feel way better on this diet than on a cooked or high-raw diet. Isn’t that so interesting that whether I feel good or bad on all-fruit depends so strongly on the amount of greens I eat?!?! Part of your situation sounds so similar to mine, as it sounds like you are eating less 3/4 lb of greens a day (maybe too little for you?) and find that high fruit makes you crazy. Have you ever tried eating more like 1.5-2 lbs of greens a day with high fruit? I would be curious to see if that not only fixes the problem for you, but also makes you feel excellent on a high fruit diet. Also, I was wondering if you’d be willing to measure how many ounces/pounds of greens you each a day for a one week period and report to us on the Renegade Health TV show? The reason I ask is that question (“exactly how much greens should I eat per day?”) is one of the top questions a raw food newbie has, and I’ve seen virtually all of your shows, and I can’t remember you ever answering this question with exact numbers; I think you’ve always given a more vague reponse. Anyhow, I just thought that since you have so much valuable advice, it would be so awesome to do a show on your thoughts on exactly how much greens to eat a day (that is, not in handfuls or bunches, which are too vague to be helpful, but in weight like ounces or pounds). Anyways, thanks for listening and tolerating my rambling…just through this might be interesting “food for thought”. THANKS SO MUCH!!
Best Wishes,
Courtney
P.S. What I mean is that high fruit makes me feel spacey only when I don’t eat enough greens (like 1.5 lbs or more a day). Interestingly, I find that even just eating some salt with high fruit usually gets rid of the spaciness. Anyways, I feel the amount of greens is such an important topic that it would be awesome if you not only tell how how many ounces of greens you personally eat per day, but how many ounces of greens a day we should eat as a minimum and as ideal amounts (either on a weight or percentage of calories basis).
Thanks so much!
Tandi were you doing the high impact for over an hour?–that can cause cortisol levels to rise and the exercise stress on the body can cause weight/fat gain. High impact is best under an hour with some simple carb immediately following and then a recovery meal within an hour or 2, I think. I’ve noticed that usually when fitness instructors start gaining weight/fat it’s due to overexercise or exercise stress. Maybe that’s why the low impact helped?
I would love to see more fitness Fridays too
I do have few leather items, and especially shoes because I can’t stand rubber or plastic. Vegan shoes are too expensive for now…And to be honest, I didn’t want to pretend and move to vegan products before I really feel what it means, feel for the animals. Otherwise I’ll just be deluding myself (I’m oh-so compassionate now), and buy the first nice leather shoes that come along…If I don’t feel it and it doesn’t come naturally then I don’t see the point.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for bringing back Fitness Fridays. I’ve been very upset about some of the comments you’ve made recently that nobody watched the Fitness videos. Although I don’t exercise as much as I’d like to, Fitness Fridays were always my favorite shows and motivated me to exercise more and try new things. I still use the body weight exercises you demonstrated from those early shows and I’d love to see you bring back more shows like that. Fitness is just as important as diet so whether people like it or not I think it’s something you have to address on a regular basis.
Another good clip. thankyou – I dont feel the nasal spray is a good choice? cause nasal spray is still full of not very nice stuff and goes instantly to the brain? In the east they will often give an antidote through nose so it gets into system really quick (so I was told) so I feel sprayingi it up the nose is not a good choice. ?
We have the info, enough info to say NO.
For post #18, I forgot to mention that it may work better if fruits(or other carb sources like potatoes) are consumed before greens.
Fats are probably better to eat later since they slow digestion.
Does anyone know if it’s just a myth that a person should have an 8:1 zinc to copper ratio?
It is almost impossible to achieve an 8:1 ratio on a low fat raw vegan diet without supplements. Pumpkin seeds, hulled sesame seeds, and quinoa have a close ratio.
The best non-vegan source is perhaps eating an oyster a day (about 55% RDA).
When I tracked a meal from the 811 diet on nutritiondata.com, the ratio was about 2:1 and the RDA for zinc was around 80% and copper was over 200%.
I had some signs of possible zinc deficiency when I limited my seed/nut intake to 1 oz. a day and increased my carb intake. Symptoms include excess hunger, hypoglycemia, slow healing cracked fingers, and spaciness. They hunger was gone when I ate a cup of pumpkin seeds in a day.
I can only wear Crocs! I have sensative feet. I NEED the cushiony soles of he croc shoes. They are a God sent for me. I would have loved to be very fashionable and wear some cute leather ankle boots, but I can’t.
My car does have leather seats, but I bought it in 2001. Its a wonderful car and plan to hold onto it FOREVER.
I do use a leather wallet that I got years ago, along with a leather bag and jacket. I have a very warm shearling coat that I got in the early 90′s. I haven’t worn it very much cause it makes me very warm. Its still in like new condition. I hear this winter in the NE is going to be colder and snowier, so I do plan to wear it if I have to.
As a retired nurse I only got a flu shot once in my life at least ten years ago.
I don’t plan on getting a H1N1 flu vaccine as I think this whole thing was INVENTED to make the drug companies and government rich.
Since being retired 6 years now, I stay away from doctors as much as possible. I did’t have my annual checkup and blood work drawn this past week for the simple reason that I wanted to see how my High Raw life style has changed and hopefully improved my cholesterol level.
I also liked fittness friday and especially AnnMarie’s lesson on stretches/exercising to help lower back pain. I do them often and they REALLY work.
P.S. I LOVE recipe Wednesday!!!!!! Keep them coming. I use alot of them.
I still have leather shoes, belts, a wallet, a second-hand coat, and I think that’s all. Unless I buy shoes on the internet it’s difficult to get ones I can wear to work that are not leather and buying clothes on the internet is not great because about 50% of the time things don’t fit right anyway. I have been wanting a hemp wallet so that will be next when the current one wears out.
good point with the whole pregnant women thing – if something is bad for a pregnant woman it would be bad for the rest. like alcohol..
leather? im very cautious when i buy shoes etc and always steer away from leather – it is not in any way a sustainable product.
I do have a bracelet that is made of leather tho, its more of a sentimental value thing cause my mum wore it when she was young – it has a peace sign on it – but, i never wear it..
Yes I do have some leather and Nike stuff, but I dont feel that we should throw them away just to fit in with a certain group.
I do think its great to be more environmentally conscious when we integrate new products into our lives.
That is cool that you had that wallet for so long. I like the new one though. Pretty nice.
On the subject of Fitness Friday. Dont go off of what you think may be most popular, because people definitely need fitness to be a part of the health regime. Just cuz the numbers arent high, doesnt mean you shouldn’t do it. Plus it looks like many people miss it!!
And it is a good reminder for those who are slacking in that area…
I like the wallet.
Funny how that personal part of you has moved away from you right now in your life. I find it interesting when things like that happen. Its like a piece of the old you has moved away… Beautiful. Making room for the “new” you.
Have some leather stuff jackets, purses, shoes. Have had for a long time though and dont plan on making leather purchases in the future.
You’re right, Kevin, if it isn’t good for a pregnant woman, it isn’t good for us all as well.The list of ingredients and side effects says it all.
I have leather shoes, leaving-room furniture, belts, wallet, coat, things I bought long ago and they last longer than synthetic items. I cannot just throw them away especially now. I’ll cherish them as long as I can.
Thanks and lots of blessings!
Hi Kevin, I hear Pregnant Woman can’t take the Nasal Swine Flu Vaccine because it has a live/active strain and the Swine Flu Vaccine shot does not. I did read your E-book Raw High but I cheated, I printed it out lol.
I know there isn’t a lot of studies on this but what do you think of MMS (Miracle Mineral Solution)
Thanks Eric
Great video, funny how “most” women change there whole lifestyle when pregnant(that is when I first got on my organic trail).I still have leather….the last wallet and purse I purchased is hemp. the last jacket “faux” leather. I am not feeling the need to get rid of my leather though.(^_^)
Great show! My car seats are leather. I bought it used so it wasn’t by choic but they are way more durable than cloth or plastic. I’ve had leather couches in the past and sold them years later for close to the original purchase price since they were brand new looking despite having had dogs and a baby all over them. Now I have cloth chairs that are wearing out quickly. Not good for the environment if I have to throw them out or use chemicals to clean them. Water isn’t cutting it.
I have an old leather backpack/purse that looks like it will last another 20 years. Cost a small fortune at the time but a good investment. I see how quickly my daughter’s plastic purses wear out. What a waste of plastic and landfill.
Except for my runners my shoes are leather. My feet need shoes that stretch since one foot is a bit bigger than the other. I can’t wear synthetics although I think I can do the Vibrams and will try them out next spring. I get my shoes reheeled or resoled. Leather virtually never wears out.
I wish I could just have bare feet and not wear shoes at all but it’s a bit impracticle in our climate.
My wallet is plastic and quickly wearing out. I’ll look into the hemp ones when the time comes. Hemp is super-durable and very sustainable and of course it would compost. Better choice.
One more point about leather: watch where you buy it from. If it comes from China, it might be coming from dogs or cats, not from animals that are destined to die for food anyway (not condoning it, just stating facts). In Canada it’s legal to sell dog leather–not that they label it as such. I’m not buying more leather products myself. I hope someone comes out with some decent non-leather furniture though!
Hey Kev,
What grains do you steam? I remember Annmarie syaing that she can’t do brown rice because it makes her sleepy. How long do you steam them and what do you use, what speciifc appliance-brnad and so forth? If you cook your veggies is steaming the only way you do it? Do you ever bake your potatoes or sweet potatoes? Thanks!
Most of my shoes are leather, and the seats in my car, due to durability and kids, are leather as well! I don’t feel good about the leather seats though or the leather shoes, however, I have not purchased any leather since I made the the lifestyle change to vegan. I am so much more conscious of the things I purchase now! I did buy a pair of shoes last month for a social event that were all synthetic, and my feet hurt so bad for the next week that I had a terrible time walking on them, it felt as if I had damaged my feet terribly! I would hate to purchase leather again, so I’m not sure what I will do next time around!
I have lots of leather stuff…wallet, couch, shoes, etc., and they are over 10 years old…my wallet looks tired. Each time I sit on my couch, I say “thank you” to those cows whose skins they are. I plan that my next car will not have leather.
Like Kevin had, I have an old wallet that is about 15 years old, it is still in good shape and I don’t want to make waste for nothing so I will keep it until it is no good anymore then replace it with a hemp one. I also have a few old belts from the 80s in a drawer in the spare room. I don’t want to waste them so I’ll keep them as well, I’m sure one day we’ll find a use for them.
All the best,
Debbie : )
I have a leather couch but am so ready to get rid of it when we can afford something new! Thanks for talking about Vibram. I have seen them, but did not know what they were called. I am going to check them out. They should TOTALLY give you a free pair!!
Kevin-
What specifically happens to you when you eat sweet fruit? What do you mean exactly when you say it makes you crazy???
I’ve been reading about the effects of all sugars in the body, so curious what happens with you.
Thanks.
i feel like, if “consumed” in a conscious way, having dead animal products is ok. especially if the synthetics are poorly made and break easier – just more waste. leather probably biodegrades quicker anyway.
Tks for sharing.
