I'm a bit late on this.
Glad you see you address this.
I'm against vaccines period.

When I read the article on Natural News, this is what went through my mind:
I'd love to see a 'study' done with people eating HIGH RAW, no refined sugar and taking care of themselves in all the other great ways like fitness, meditation, etc.
How many people would 'be saved' in that one?

Good show Kev.
Thanks.

No way Jose!! Why toxify a perfectly good vehicle?? Our preventative choice is the wholesome goodness of the pure balanced gifts of mother earth and our attunement with our cosmic family.

Every year I've gotten the flu shot, I have NOT gotten the flu, When I have not had the flu shot, I've been sick 1 out of 7 times.

A healthy immune system is a great thing, but disease is a terrible thing to dismiss because of the healing powers of carrots and sunshine.

How very American of us to assume that those who do get sick just weren't healthy enough and it's their own fault. It's fine to question the effectiveness of vaccines... but please, don't try to spread the idea that if you are "healthy" enough you can become impervious to disease. That is a very very dangerous thing.

SO many responses! This is a complex issue, and it seems a grave disservice to public safety when people take sides as if it was black-or-white.

I watched "Vaccine Nation". I agree that kids get way too many vaccinations, too close together, at too young of an age. Thimerosol should be eliminated completely. Sick kids should not get a vaccine. Parents should have a choice.

But some of the film's generalizations are way off target. Jonas Salk refused to patent his polio vaccine because he thought it wrong to do anything that would restrict its benefits. To characterize the history of vaccination as something sinister and always profit-driven is a lie.

Jenner's son and the kid who he first tried the smallpox vaccine on may have both died from Tuberculosis at ages 20 and 21, but that doesn't in any way mean the smallpox (viral) vaccine causes tuberculosis (bacterial). If you look at the historic record for that place and time, you'll find a lot of other 20 and 21 year olds who did NOT get the vaccine but died of tuberculosis anyway - it was a big problem then! The documentary says "there is a known association" - but the only known association is that the discovery of the smallpox vaccine from cowpox led to the discovery of the tuberculosis vaccine from bovine tuberculosis.

If you're right about something, why lie to make it look "more right"? It just makes that cause look naive or reactionary.

The anti-vaccine lobby loses credibility when people make unsubstantiated statements as if they were true, and then demand "proof" from the pro-vaccine people.

YES, we need to keep our immune systems strong thru proper nutrition, etc.

But isn't it just possible that some vaccines are a good thing at certain times? If you were working around animals with rabies, would you really decline a rabies vaccination?

I also think we need aggressive research that identifies genetic and other markers to determine which kids have autoimmune disease predisposition, so they can be spared vaccines that might trigger it.

We need to raise health awareness in this country, CLEARLY. We need to get the true facts about vaccines, and mandate that parents-to-be read up on it so they CAN make truly informed decisions, rather than bowing to pressure from either side.

But we can't demand good double-blind research on vaccines on the one hand, while disregarding the fact that double-blind research with homeopathics so far find it no better than a placebo. (Sorry, kids, I was hoping those NIH-funded studies would come out on the side of homeopathics, too, but they simply don't, and no, it wasn't "fixed" by the drug companies!)

That said, I'm a healthcare worker who had a flu shot this year and last, but I'm still on the fence about H1N1. Definitely will continue my green smoothie breakfasts, though!

Keep it real...

BRAVO Kevin!!! I have a background in healthcare -- nursing, naturopathic medicine, and traditional chinese medicine (TCM). Even in my years studying allopathic medicine (nursing), my "mainstream" microbiology professor lectured on how absolutely worthless getting the flu vaccine actually is from just a basic scientific understanding. And, from my years working with patients and in the naturopathic and TCM fields, it is well known that these vaccines (as well as others) are not only generally useless, but can be a very very serious toxic health hazard! THANK YOU for putting this info out there Kevin!!! BlisSings to you and Annemarie (& J5, too) for all you do!!!

No flu shot for me! My company is sending a nurse to our location to give free flu shots - I have to support it as the manager, but I also let people know that I won't be getting one. I recently had a cold that went around my building. Although it lasted the typical cold length - it didn't escalate to anything else as I used herbs, grapefruit seed extract, and healthy high raw food to nurture myself. Others were at the doctor and on antibiotics right away. Sometimes, it's extremely hard to be the only "naturally" orientated person at my company - but I refuse to compromise my health or my ideals.

The point to the vaccine is to prevent the flu, not really prevent death. Why did you focus on death and not prevention of flu?
