There’s been some buzz about vitamin C and cacao lately…
I wanted to address this issue as well as some other important questions like what is the best antioxidant supplement and are the greens that you get in a plastic tub OK to to eat.
There’s also a pretty funny blooper at the end of today’s episode that gets me laughing every time I watch. (Don’t worry, I’m OK!
)
Take a look…

Dear Kev, Glad you told us that you’re ok, as a Grandma, of course I would worry~!!! OUCH!:)
My question of the day might be:
How often do you wash your hair? I have friends who say it’s bad to wash our hair more than once a week. Golly, I wash about every other day and am happy with that.
Also, thanks for Annmarie’s facial cream and oil, just received and used today – AWESOME, AWESOME AWESOME!!! My skin feels soft and glowy:)
Lots of Love/hugs,
Mary in Long Beach, CA:)

Sorry can’t help you with season change, here is South Florida we’re hitting record highs-95!!!
Have no clue of what a good question of the day is to ask! lol
OUCH to the blooper!!! you alright there!

I recently started using baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to brush my teeth, is this o.k.? Love your show!

Question of the day:
I hope this hasn’t already been answered in a past show…Can you recommend any laboratories that can test your blood by mail for levels of minerals, cholesterol etc, (i.e. without having to go through a physician?)
8:34 pm on October 9th, 2009
Ah, I feel your pain! Ever since I moved to California from Maryland over 10 yrs ago I still miss the season changes. There are a few spots here and there in the Bay Area that have color-changing trees, so I’m grateful for that. Luckily we have some of those trees in my neighborhood.
Question of the Day: “What makes preparing food fun for you?”
My answer: Preparing food with my partner is the best! It’s so much less overwhelming and you get to hang out with your favorite person.
8:36 pm on October 9th, 2009
I love you, Kev! Thanks for taking such good care of us.
Whenever I don’t have a good question, I like to ask, “Why?”
Have a great weekend!

Question of the day: To what extent do you like the fall season change?
Also I made that Ceviche dish which was really awesome and my family liked it. I influenced one of my friends who is not very healthy to LOVE kelp noodle, and my other friend who isn’t in good shape to have an ab workout schedule-I have an ab workout schedule, even though I am in very good shape because it is important to running and basketball. I am glad that I could influence others’ health in positive ways, and SUPER glad to watch your influential videos. Thanks so much!!!

Hi Kevin,
Good show today! I really appreciate the non-dogmatic approach you offer to health and nutrition. I’ve definitely been prone to that neurotic, “Oh no! I’m not doing _____ enough” feeling, so it’s good to hear you convey the reality check.
You might’ve already addressed this, but I am interested in discussing adrenal repair. How have you dealt with run-down adrenals in the past, if you’ve ever experienced that kind of thing?
Thanks!
Ellen

Ouch!
It’s beautiful here in MN right now, Kev… but cold! Tomorrow’s high in the 30s, snow in the forecast.
So… I’d like to know what everyone else eat (and do) to keep warm in the winter.

What are some good non-fruit sources of raw complex carbs for people with cancer? Too many of my calories are coming from fat.
Also, if you had cancer, what would your diet look like?
Thanks.

Question of the day: Do you have any food cravings? If so, what? Sorry about your little accident – can’t believe you didn’t cuss!
8:58 pm on October 9th, 2009
Debra – you can look online at directlabs.com or call them at (800) 908-0000. They offer most lab tests without going through a physician and they send you full written report of the results.
Kevin – hope you’re okay! Can’t send any photos of leaves changing colors in our neighborhood – we’re at the beach – there are no seasonal trees around here.
Have a great week-end!

“Do you believe in eating in the “seasons?”

I heard that the young baby coconuts are dipped in some crazy chemicals before we get them at the store. What chemicals are they and how does it affect the coconut? I imagine that when we cut it open some of that might get into the water….
BTW, In Upstate NY–Lots of fall colors…it’s full fledged fall season, would love to send you a pic. <3 Roxana

Ouch lol! well my question is what are some good natural skin care options for dry skin? I especially have this trouble spot on my forehead that is very itchy and flaky. I will wash my face my body wash when I’m taking a shower (Dove Nutrium is what I use currently) and it’ll be okay…the flakes will be gone and it will be smooth (albeit red from where I washed) but the next day it comes back! This just started so I have no idea what could be wrong. Maybe some sort of skin issue?
Thanks Kevin!
As a first time viewer and newcomer to the website, etc. I’d have to say this is very interesting and has a great format!

Hi Kevin and Annmarie,
We are in the northwest of Colorado and the colors of the aspen changed colors last week. Beautiful, sorry no pictures to share.
I guess I would like to know what is bad about raw cacao as you mention it a couple of times.
More questions about superfoods that people eat?
What do people enjoy to do for fun? Weekend fun?
Just some ideas,
Enjoy the nice season of Arizona. Some of my family lives there and they are so thankful for the heat break. Nice time of year there.

Dear Kevin and Annmarie,
We always watch your show, and have never posted (3 kids under 7, overworked and underslept), but not for lack of wanting to! My guess is that a lot of your fans are in the same boat, feeling grateful and connected with you, but not having the chance to express that as often as we felt it. We were surprised to hear you say, “Are you guys still out there?” We thought (it’s silly, I know) that you’d just *know* we were out here in droves, appreciative, awed, and inspired by you guys. I know, we should tell you sometimes too. You both are full of bright vivid energy, doing such important work–we just wanted to give you our thanks and kudos for everything you’ve been doing. After years of medical school and hematology-oncology research at Harvard–if I had a fraction of the positive impact on people’s health that you guys do daily, I would be thrilled.
Your question of the day is a great way to spark a forum of sharing and discussion on topics. We’d love to know what suggestions people have for building more of a community of raw, healthy-eating kids, where eating healthily can become more of a norm, to challenge the preexisting norms for kid food. Kids are pretty social beings, and most of their social events are pretty far from raw occasions (often featuring pizza, cake, ice cream, chicken nuggets, etc). Yet it’s hard for them to feel different or left out as well–not to mention some of them are pretty picky at an early age. It’s probably a long road to change this, but any suggestions would be welcome!
Another question of the day we’re interested in: I was raw vegan till I became pregnant, when I needed (I felt) meat, among other much heavier foods than I’d been eaten before. Would love to know and share the experiences of others in this regard, especially if there appears to be a physiological (or hormonal) basis for this.
Thanks again, Kevin and Annmarie, for everything you guys do.
Sandy and Michael

Greetings from down under. Thanks for all the info and the non judgemental approach! Hope you didnt hurt yourself too badly! I have a question. As summer is approaching I have a mulberry tree that is laden with fruit, what can I do with it all? I can only eat so much fruit, and my friends are helping, but there will be a lot more soon as the ripening speeds up.I share with the birds too, but dont want to just let the fruit drop to the ground.
9:39 pm on October 9th, 2009
Ouch! Did that hurt…? no sorry that is not my question of the day. I have to say first I cannot wait to see your show. I bring my two boys to bed and then I have time for you and Annmarie, thanks for all the information you provide, I learned so much the last two years. O.k let’s get to my question. Me and my family are going on a Motorhome trip in Europe next year and we are knee deep in the preparation. My question for Annmarie is what would you suggest to take in kitchen equipment/tools and maybe even supplements. As you might know the European versions of RV’s are much smaller than what you have. Any good suggestions.
Greetings from Bermuda. Tamara

I live in Hawaii but I am from Denver. I just returned from there and saw all the beautiful colors, then it snowed twice while I was in Colorado Springs and it was so cold! Long story short, I miss the colors not the cold! brrrrr
I love when you show all your bloopers! Did you hit something with your head? Glad your okay!
Question: Natural skin care for the over 50 crowd, I also have adult acne and even putting lotion on my hands and then if I touch my face, lookout, more acne! What can I do? Any ideas? I perspire alot too so there goes any makeup! what to do?
thanks

My question of the day would be: what is a good/best natural anti-inflammatory? What would you use, Kev?
9:50 pm on October 9th, 2009
my question would be “what do certain food cravings indicate and how can you give your body what it is asking for in a healthy way”.
I’ve heard Victoria Butanko say that she was told to drink a liter per day of sesame milk to provide her body the calcium she needed when she had sugar cravings, and after 2 weeks her cravings went away.
Thanks!

1. What kind of soap do you use and why?
2. Do you have raw friends or are you a loner ?
Have a nice week-end.

My question is what are good transitional foods for young kids?
How can we educate our schools in what good nutrition is truly about without having big corporations sponsoring them?

You could ask, What is your number one favorite raw food or superfood that has provided you the most benefits?
Another question that could be asked is, what is the best way to reduce cravings for unhealthy cooked foods?

Ha, I thought you were peeking in my fridge, I made a pot o’ greens and there they sit in my fridge not really old, but… But you shouldda checked my freezer, I picked bags and bags of mulberries and black raspberries that are dying to become smoothies. My question is this, I make my greens with lots of different greens, what do you like best for Greens? I use collards, rutabagas, beets, turnips, plan to use my Brussel Sprouts greens and broccoli, when they’ve quit producing. I grow all my stuff organically, had an aswesome garden this year.
I hear you can use raddish greens, but I heard too late.

Someone already asked so thanks for getting the idea in my head…I think you should talk about what you use to wash your hair and how often and what type of soap you use. We want to put on our skin things that are just as good as what we put in ourselves. Wishing you two the best.
Much Love,
Karen

My question…..”What do you do to get through cravings for sugar, salt and crunchie things? (And I don’t mean veggies or fruits!!)Thanks! Love your show and trying to spread the word on green smoothies….When I tell people about my breakfast smoothies they look at me like I have two heads:)! IT’s ok…they will come around! IT has totally changed how I feel in the morning and on through to lunch. Ciao!

supplement: a high quality multi-mineral formula (food based is first choice or amino acid chelated minerals as a second choice…focus on magnesium, potassium, trace minerals, and some calcium (but food based and not as much as is typically recommended). Why? Minerals are used in a huge number of the body’s chemistry including endocrine system (hormones), enzyme system, digestive systems to name a few.

I don’t have a picture of today’s fall scene in Winnipeg, Canada, but even if I did you wouldn’t believe it anyway: the leaves are still all green and on their branches, and SNOW is covering bows and grasses everywhere! (I roll my eyes)
Question: What do you particularly appreciate about the weather/ecosystem in which you live?
For example, I like mine for the yummy apples and berries, a ton of wild edible plants, and the veggies it produces in the summer and the winter, too cold for poisonous bugs and reptiles to move into our region!
Thanks for your show!

Hi Kevin and Annemarie,
Do you guys have any information on having hypothyroidism and being on the raw diet? My friend would dearly love to keep going more raw but evidently greens are a problem for her. The evidence seems to support her having warm foods. Any way she can still go raw and perhaps beat the hypothyroidism?
Thanks!

Kev. & Annmarie! I live in Spokane,WA and it is so beautiful! The leaves are just turning but soon the streets will be filled with leaves in Brownes Addition which is where I live, close to downtown, there is a Art Museum and lots of college students like myself! They bring in big sweeper trucks to sweep the streets in about a month! I will have to take pictures for you!
My question of the day is, “What tips/ supplements if any would you recommend to busy college students?”
Between work and school I find myself short on time, hmm all the time!
Oh && I just did my first college newspaper article on GREEN SMOOTHIES! I am bringing the knowledge of raw foods everywhere I go! I really have you two to thank so much tho! You have helped me so much through my journey!

Okay Kevin…
The sound affects got me chuckling while sending out wishes of wellness. How generous that you let us laugh with you!
I am a native CA, who lived bi-coastally for 12 yrs from the DC area (Chevy Chase, MD & Old Town Alexandria, VA). Saw my first snowfall at 38 in Maryland and it was a Noreaster. I was the only one who showed up for work and was stuck there for 3 days. I fell in love with the Fall…so understand. After living east – I decided all of our trees in San Diego were brown not green. Your appreciation of fall has deepened. When you return — you’ll think of Sedona and you will think of San Diego fondly, I’m sure.
I want to share with you another sign of my success – a stunningly healthy looking tongue clear of white cheese. Nice and luscious red color. BIG THANKS TO RENEGADE HEALTH AND THE COMMUNITY. Tuning in M-F is a new habit that I love. Kev, you’ve been a great support as I’ve transitioned to HIGH RAW. Not only has my blood pressure and heart rate gone down to great levels, I have a new shiny tongue.
As will Jill — I too have one of those patches that are flaky, itchy and slightly inflammed after the flakes are remove. Naturally, the years ago, when I had this patch checked out by a dermatologist he didn’t care to diagnose it. I asked a serious of questions about potential causes and could it be related to diet, etc. HE told it could be one of two things and the antidote is the same a topical ointment named: Clobetasol Propionate USP, 0.05%. That was my second and last attempt at working with a dermatologist.
It would seem to me that dermatologist would be fascinated by the largest body organ. It is a protective barrier and organ of elimination. There seems to be no regard for the obvious power of this organ and how cooperate and be in good relationship with this incredible membrane.
My intuition says there must be a correlation to what is going on externally with what’s going internally. It is pretty clear that my sensitive skin is hormonal. I get monthly flare ups. Things are getting better since I eliminated dairy. My tongue, lips, and skin around the mouth, chin and nose is becoming more vital. Yeah!
I have been tuning into my liver and spleen on various levels. This is yielding results as well.
My question for you: Is there a dermatologist in the raw community who honors the body and uses medication as a last resort? If yes, can you interview this person?
QOTD: Apples are abundant now. How many varieties of organic apples have you eaten so far this season?

Thank you so much for all your work!
Hugs and Love to you and Annmarie!

Hi Kevin,
this more of a notice. In your show #286 Rick is mentioning that coconut oil liquefies much above body temperature. Depend of the purity coconut oil has the point of solidification around 75F. I do not say coconut is good or bad for consuming, the opinions are spit as usual, I only wanted to bring to your attention that statement.
The metabolism of coconut oil is still in debate. I spoke to chemists who are convinced that coconut and palm oil are poisons. And I also haired chemists who eat it with the tablespoon.
A good reference is Bruce Fife “Coconut Oil Miracle”.
Thank you for reading my coment.

I’ve been hoping you would open up your feedback to any question that might arise, whether or not it might be in response to a specific “question of the day,” because often something pops up out of the blue that people wonder about. For instance, is the gelatinous substance in the chia seed soaking water the entire content of the seeds or is it just the fats or proteins? It doesn’t seem oily enough to be the fats. Also, do you have any current information about the Codex Alimentarius and the USDA plans to irradiate foods? I know Mike Adams has written about the irradiation plans in the past. Thanks for the great public service you do!

My question is along the same lines as Sandy Lee’s regarding pregnancy. While I was focussing on eating as much raw vegan as possible I couldn’t get pregnant. Then my diet slipped for 3weeks I gained a bit of weight and fell pregnant. I am now nearly 3 months into my pregnancy and the very thought of a green smoothie is quite repulsive. I crave dairy foods which I am usually allergic to but seem to be getting away with (organic not raw). And the constant nausea has me hankering for heavy fatty foods. What’s going on? Someone told me that some have a natural subconscious aversion to veges because of the soil microbe risk of old?? Hmmm…would love to know what you guys think. Thanks for all the wisdom.
1:15 am on October 10th, 2009
Kev, I hope you got enough responses from us, the audience this time! I’d like to say to Kay…go to toothsoap.com to get more info. They advise not to use baking soda and h. peroxide on a daily basis; recommend soap instead. And to those with kids, you may find either http://www.rawmom.com. or healthinhighheels.com a valuable resource for how to do healthy food for kids. I hope I got the websites correct…am writing it from memory.
It’s definitely fall here in Chicagoland and beautiful leaves are coming down…would send pics if I knew how to! Next year you’ll have to leave the west coast and stay more inland so you can enjoy it. I’ve always loved the fall.
Question you could ask: what time do you go to bed and get up in the morning?

oops: http://www.healthinhighheels.com is hopefully correct.

Hi Kevin!
Absolutely love your show — I watch it all the time.
My question is this:
I grow my own sprouts (mung, sesame, lentils, etc.) and greens (sunflower, radish, buckwheat, clover, etc.)… and fruit flies love them! Is there any health hazards with having fruit flies on food? For example, are they laying eggs in there? Defecating? I always rince my sprouts and greens before eating them, but I am wondering now if that’s enough.
I have a few health conditions (such as candida), so I wouldn’t want to be doing anything that might make my immune system work harder, and make things worse.
Cheers!
Julie

Sandy and Michael, my kid and I do a weekly podcast called Sweet Peas Podcast where we deal with tons of kid issues: how to deal with peers, what to eat, how to eat within a family, etc. Check it out on http://www.ritefoodandcompany.com and click on the Sweet Peas Podcast logo! I also am a contributing writer to RawMom.com. You can find all my articles there (click on the “Blog” tab and look for “Lisa Marie’s Thoughts”) or on my website (go to the Happenings page).
Kevin and Annmarie, yes, I’d like to hear you talk about dealing with cravings, too. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard this addressed on your show. Great topic.
My question of the day would be: How are people preparing for their raw Thanksgivings, Yule, and other seasonal holidays? And I mean that emotionally and recipe-wise!

I just bought a very good portable far infrared sauna. I have a friend who has seen some amazing results because of using one. Have you looked into this or ever used one?

Present!
I often don’t post because at #57, who cares? But I check in every day to you and Dan McDonald (youtube/liferegenerator) for my daily fix of encouragement and repetition. I still need to hear the message each day to stay the course.
I need a raw apple pie recipe. The ones I’ve tried just don’t cut it for my SAD husband.
Hair: I tried less washing of hair and felt greasy.
Question: what do you feed your cat? or dog?
8:46 am on October 10th, 2009
For the guys with itchy skin, I have to say in spite all the promises of raw foodists about all your health problems going away from high blood pressure to skin problems well, my skin looks really healthy, my face have never been so clear but, I do have that itchy skin in my upper arms and also in my right leg like little isolated scaly patches I don’t know what is it, my father in law who is a doctor wants me to put some skin medication too, but after hearing the call with susan on wednesday I’m going to try the triple strenght chamomile tea sprayed on my lesions and see if they get better, also, after some days having milk thistle suplementation my upper arms feels better (because you can’t actually see the itchy skin patch, it only itches).
For the question of the day, since the holidays are next, is there a way to stop consumerism?
8:56 am on October 10th, 2009
But don’t get me wrong, I love raw foods, I havent been sick in years!

Great show Kev, BUT I really missed Annmarie. And To Debera’s ? I always get my lab test done at ZRT Laboratory check online for them. My question is what is your take on these multi marketing water machines. (Kangen,KYK..)
And I would also like more info on the adreanals.

..as usual trailing along here…but always showing up! Question regarding infrared saunas – conflicting information – some say that the best saunas are the ones made with simulated wood vs ones made from cedar (inside and out) because when heated, cedar and other natural woods put off toxins. Any opinions? Also to share my experience with Greenstar Juicer – junk – and extremely poor customer service. The sproutman has integrity but the rest of their gang seems to have lost touch with reality.
11:05 am on October 10th, 2009
To those with the scaly skin patches. I know people who have gotten rid of them by going on a parasite killing program. You can use herbs-black walnut hull tincture, wormwood and fresh ground cloves. My son also was able to control the large boil type acne (not just surface clogged pores) with a zapper that uses a 9 volt battery attached to copper tube hand holds. I got this info from Dr. Hulda Clark’s book ‘The Cure for All Cancers’, but I’m not sure if it’s still available as they put her in jail and a lot of the sources listed in her book have dried up.

I would also like to have answers to some questions people posted:
-how to deal with weak adrenals
- correlation between food cravings and minerals we are lacking. I found when I crave warm foods, especially oats or rice in milk it’s weak spleen. Now I still eat raw but warm it up a bit and it works
- how you’ve dealt with food or sugar cravings
- what you eat to keep warm in the winter
- what do you do when you’re stressed, and it’s not food
- some successful stories in bringing a raw dish to a party and everyone liked it (esp. kids)
and also, sometimes you could say if anyone has more to say on the topic you’ve discussed, plus question of the day. Because sometimes what you talk about is very interesting, and people have lots of tips and advices to give but then I feel like we’re ignoring your question of the day…
Have a great weekend, and I”ll go try to take some pictures of the fall here in London!

On portable infrared sauna- I’ve been using mine for the past 6 months. I find it’s excellent for cleaning the body from toxins.
Few things to pay attention to however:
- it’s imperative to drink lots of water,
- supplement minerals because they will leach out of body through sweat, and finally
- do not use it if you have amalgam fillings. I realized after a few months of using it my brain would become like ’stonned’ and I would fall asleep very quickly like someone knocked me on the head. And then afterwards lots of brain fog. Now I know it was mercury being released, and sauna made it move around my body. I wish they warned me of that when I was buying it.
I started using it again now that I had my fillings removed and it feels great. I don’t fall asleep and feel energized afterwards.

We’re in AZ for awhile too, and I am so missing the fall change in MI. Enjoy the sun though!

Hi Kev, great post as usual. I live in london I can give you cold weather pics anytime you want..ok over exaggeration but winters here are long:( will you be growing a winter afro? the hairs looking quite thick there:)
A question I would like to ask, Grains! Can we really eat them raw or should they be cooked to some degree? like steaming or low temperature cooking. Whats the best option im reading stuff about the Essenes and ancient civilisations on making breads and Gladiator barley poriage:)
Thanks.

Hey There…Loved your show as usual!
I purchased the Halloween e-book and Love it!
I have 4 grandchildren so I’m excited to share some of these creative goodies for them
(and me too…who am I kidding).
I live in the Sierra’s in California and it gets really cold here and sometimes something warm would really hit the spot…so my question is…
What do you eat that will warm you to the core?
I would also be interested in learning other creative ways to survive Thanksgiving and Christmas and maintain a raw vegan lifestyle!
More Holiday e-books would be wonderful! Grin

Question: I can’t prepare food fresh daily. I make a few days worth of almond/sesame milk and freeze. I’ll make pesto for several days or other salads/dips. I work full time so I’ll make a green smoothy and bring it to work and drink it many hours later, or I’ll mix up my salad and bring it to work etc. etc. Ultimately, am I losing the nutrients that I am trying to get?

Question of the day!
“What are your favorite nut-free/grain-free gourmet style raw recipes?”
Love your show! Thanku..:)

Interesting.. David Wolfe enthusiastically claims there is vitamin C in cacao, in his superfoods book he says there are 44mg per 100 g of raw cacao. Even if there is negligible vitamin C, sometimes other antioxidants can regenerate it, but who knows, I really want to try the fruit! it sounds like you’ve tried it!
2:16 pm on October 10th, 2009
Love that ending Kevin! Funny but didn’t sound too good on your part. My question of the day would be what percent raw everyone is out there – I think it’d be interesting to see the spread of readers here. Always great content, really appreciate the shows

Now you have a slew of questions to try answering over the next months, how do you organize the questions? Did you have categories, and if so are they changing with the new Qs?
Or if you just listed them and picked ad lib, do you feel the need to order them a bit, with so many overlapping?
Examples: Is there/how much X in Y? You did that with vitamin C and raw cacao, very well by the way.
Are A worth getting/better than B, and if so/not, what makes the difference?
What’s best/are M and N good for problem/ailment Z? And what can cause Z anyway?
[+MD-oriented disclaimer, as per monopoly]
Is F worthwhile activity/better than G or H, and what do they do for you?
2:22 pm on October 10th, 2009
Do you change what/how you eat when the seasons change?
Now that it’s cooler where I am, I have no interest in drinking the green smoothies that I loved in the warmer weather. I am quite raw in the warmer months but can’t bear it when the weather changes.
Also along those lines, if you do eat heavier or cooked foods as the weather changes, do you feel the need for a digestive cleanse?

Examples of question of the day:
1. Where do you get your zinc? Can you get enough zinc on a low fat raw vegan diet?
2. What is your opinion on the 80/10/10 diet?
3. Is quinoa healthy?
4. Is eating steamed(to minimize HCA formation) free range meat about once a week healthy?
5. Are sprouts or leafy greens healthier?
6. What is your favorite leafy green?
7. What do you do to improve mental concentration?
8. What is a healthy diet?
I checked whfoods and nutritiondata.com and in one of 811’s meal plan, the daily zinc intake was close to 45% of the RDA’s.
I seemed to be deficient in zinc because I was never satisfied even with a lot of greens and fruits. When I ate pumpkin seeds, those problems were reversed. Now I don’t have to eat so much.
People say that you will you can get all the nutrients you need from plants and that may be true but the mineral ratios seemed very different.

This episode is what separates you from many of the Health and raw food promoters. Your honesty,
humility and willingness to put your Ego and business behind the best options for people to take in order to obtain or maintain health. Thanks keep up the good work!!
1. Recommending nutrition from whole foods over your supplements
2. Keeping that blooper in there (Laughter is a great medicine;)

Kevin, ask people how often they wash floors in their homes, especially in the kitchens.

Kevin,
Nice hair!
Since you’re in Phoenix ( my home town) why don’t you take a drive up through the canyon (Oak Creek from Sedona and on up to Flag)…there’s West Fork hiking trail that crosses over Oak Creek several times. It’s about 6 miles in and back out.. you’ll see lots of yellows and reds about now.

I would also like to know more about pregnancy and raw foods. Where can one get more information on this topic and what type of experiences people have had. Types of cravings any hormonal issues etc. etc.
Love your shows keep up the good work, we really do appreciate it, even if we only respond every 4 months.
4:06 pm on October 10th, 2009
Wow, you must have been barefooted. Ouch! I really like when people respond to your show because I have learned some really new and neat things from the responses. I also look forward every day to your show – the few times it was late, I worried about you guys. I really don’t know how you do all you do, what with being on the road and all – it must be that enthusiasm of your’s that always shows.

Q: Do you eat raw dairy?
5:05 pm on October 10th, 2009
Hi Kevin~
I think your hair looks the same, so I don’t know what everyone’s talking about with all the hair comments.
Are their any supplements, herbs, or superfoods you do take daily? Have you tweaked your top ten list from 2008?
I received Ann Marie’s face cream mask~~ Loved it!!
Question of the Day:
What type of physician do you use, Western, Eastern, Holistic, Naturopathic, or do you even go to a physician at all and maybe research to heal yourself?? When is the last time you visited a western physician?
8:27 pm on October 10th, 2009
How does the raw food diet work with the Ayurvedic body types, specifically the vata type? My life has changed in so many positive ways since eating raw, but I’m wondering if eating ‘cold’ in the coming winter months will be challenging to my vata body. Any ideas? Thanks
8:59 pm on October 10th, 2009
My QOTD would be “how do you prepare and eat potatoes/yams etc” I’m still new to all this and I’m unclear on how/if they’re eaten in a raw food diet or not. Thanks!

Hi Guys! Glad you tell us where you are currently, when I heard you say “Phoenix” it relieved my worries about the sweat lodge ordeal in Sedona – whew! Many of the questions people ask in the comments I know I’ve seen you address before on other shows so one question I would have is how to research your archives? or am I missing something already there? When I try to put in specific dates or show numbers it doesn’t take me there, sometimes close, and I usually watch where it takes me, but sometimes there are specific things I’m looking for. I sure enjoy reading the comments – sometimes it takes a while to watch then scroll and read! so any question of the day usually leads to many other threads. When I asked about cancer I got TONS of responses and resources and I thank this crowd very much for that! So keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll keep watching and following and asking when we need to – thanks again to this “audience.”

Do you guys have any plans to visit Hawaii?? I would love to see you guys! PLEASE COME TO HAWAII!!
Can children get candida from eating alot of fruit? If so how do you get rid of it??
Thanks in advance!
Warm Aloha’s,

Hi Kev and Annmarie,
Once again, you were honest, and I really appreciate that! I think a great question of the day is:
What do you feed a child that hardly likes anything raw, including smoothies?
Oh here’s another question for you, what do you think about Vit C powder or crystals as supplements?-Particularly when someone is ill, and may not be up to eating very much.
Thanks,
Marie

Hey Guys,
One more possible question of the day is:
What do you do when you are sick?
I’ve been sick for 3 1/4 days with fever, aches, and pain.
Thanks,
M

A few questions, some questions of the day others show topics. I’m pretty new to raw foods and I have found that the comments left are very helpful and informative.
1. What raw food websites/ books have you found informative?
2. Raw food cracker recipies.
3. What juicer/ blenders do you use.
10:30 pm on October 11th, 2009
Enjoy your shows a lot.
QOTD:
If you have had candida, were you able to get rid of it? How?
For those with amalgam fillings, do you stay out of the sauna or just the infrared sauna?
What do you do to avoid getting sunburnt?
What is the best parasite cleanse?
Do you trust muscle testing for revealing nutritional needs?

Can you reverse auto immune disease?

Hi Kevin
I may have some things up for discussion – (unless this has already been done)?
I am battling with Osteoporosis and osteo penia. I am trying to revese it for 1 yr and not much difference yet.
Point is I dont know whether it is the;
Vit D levels,
Manesium levels
Silica levels
or hormone levels.
I find it difficult to get tests done as all my Dr. wants to do is dole out the pharmaceutical pills (and my health has suffered enough with other pills that made me so ill a few yrs ago.)
I am vegan, 3/4 Raw (for the last year)1/2 raw prior to that for a few years now. No Refined sugars either.
I take Natural progesterone cream. I now use 4 adaptegenic harbs to try and cut the hot flushes down – which is nearly working.
I cannto get work now, so cannot afford to get tests done privatly.
Is there any way of knowing/finding out what my magnesium/Silica/Vit D levels are? I an in UK.
Thanks for the info you give you guys are amazing.

Hi Kevin
I would love if you would talk about whether raw vegetables cause parasites. I would imagine there is the possibility. It doesn’t stop me from eating raw, but I would like to know the facts and how to prevent becoming a parasite host.
Thank you for your time.
Peace
June

In what foods can you find glucosamine and msm?
2:36 pm on October 13th, 2009
I would be curious to know how to access archives too – really appreciate the down to earth attitude you guys share. I prefer to keep things simple…from the garden and not a bunch of ingredients you have to hunt for online or at the health food store. Thank you!

Hi Kevin and Annemarie! LUV your show, as always — and, I really get so much from reading everyone’s comments, too!!
Questions/of the day:
1. What do you recommend for someone who has chronic pain and inflammation due to scoliosis and/or fibromyalgia (back, joint, etc.) that has NOT been alleviated by eating a high raw or 100% raw vegan diet?
2. What would you recommend (for the same person above), if the pain and inflammation (ie joints, knees) is so chronic and debilitating that the person is unable to exercise (even mild, such as walking or yoga)?
3. (again for the same/similar person) What would you recommend if they are unable to lose weight (or they even gain weight — have you heard of this happening?) eating a raw vegan diet, even after cutting out all fruit sugars, agave, and other higher glycemic raw sweets?
As many others have mentioned, I would also love to hear more information about nutrition needs being satisfied during pregnancy, as well as for rapidly growing young children (AFTER they have weaned) on a raw food vegan diet (there is a lot of scary conflicting info out there about whether eating 100% vegan is really safe long-term and during these rapid growth times for moms and kids).
And, I would also like to hear more specific info on infrared saunas — specifically, what types (both the heaters and wood materials) are best as well as a comparison of free-standing infrared saunas to other portable mat type infrared saunas (such as the Bio-mat sold on Donna Gates’ site)… I’ve heard that some people even sleep on these. How effective are they for relieving pain, detoxing mercury, etc? How safe are they (EMF exposure) especially for sleeping on? And, on the topic of EMF… What is your opinion on the barefoot technologies products? What type of lower output cell phone (if any) and/or specialized ear phone do you recommend?
Thanks, again, for all that you do! Love and BlisSings to the 3 of you!!! xoxox

squalene in swine flu vaccines causes people to become fertile. So if you want to have grandchildren do not give your children this vaccine.

as vitamin c is destroyed by being exposed to the air, hence oxidation why would we believe there might be any left after it has been dried.
i sun dry tomatoes but i do it becuase i have a glut and anyway the concentration of a dried tomato and or dried tomato powder makes some dishes taste more delicious
howe3ver i have always dried them knowing i am sacrificing the vit c
am i incorrect

Another good question of the day may be:
-Is tea healthy?
-How do you get your vitamin D or omega-3?
-Is coffee healthy?
-When was the last time you ate meat?
-How often do you eat meat?
-What is your favorite diet?
-Which diet works best for you?
-Which fad diets/”lifestyles” have you tried?
-How much nuts/seeds/greens/fruits do you consume a day?
