Hey Kevin and Annmarie! Your show is awesome and you both have taught me so very much. I’ve only been watching now for the past few weeks and have also been watching older episodes when I have some free time. Just awesome!
I really like your fitness shows and think it is definitely a good idea to keep at least one or two episodes a month devoted towards fitness, but what I really love are the recipe shows! I can’t wait to save up enough for your new smoothie book!
Product reviews might be another idea. Also, more interviews. I’ve googled so many people from your show and have been inspired by quite a few.
Have An Awesome Evening!

I am wondering about the raw cruciferous veges and thryoid issues. What can one do about this? How do we get our hormones back in line? I am low in thyroid, DHEA and progesterone. What raw things, minerals, supplements etc…can I eat/take?
Thanks!

aloha Kevin, I would love for you to talk about sugar, artificial or otherwise! I’m so tired of talking and no one listening about how bad it is for us! My friends with diabetes insist that they are better off with all the pink, yellow, etc. packets of artificial sweeteners.
Also, Soy, not the fermented (or maybe how those are the ones to eat, miso etc.) but also that soy isn’t as good for us as they say.
Vaccines (spelling), I could go on and on!
Thanks so much, or as they say here in Hawaii, mahalo!

Don’t try to be bigger and/or better. Bigger and better doesn’t always mean important, thorough, and true.

I heard that when sprouts are young they emit poisons to protect themselves from being eaten. I heard that this is why they don’t taste good. Is it safe to eat sprouts? At what age (of the sprout)is it OK?
I read somewhere that our bodies are not meant to have grains and grasses. I get the grain thing. But, the wheatgrass confuses me. I know cows have four stomaches to deal with it but if it is made into a juice is it more tolerable? There are schools built on the belief that wheatgrass has so many benefits.
Are mushrooms really safe? I thought we weren’t supposed to eat them because they are fungus.

I want to see people who have lived on 811 for years without health issues. I don’t tell many people about my diet because I get tired of the SAD flack.

Hello, I am very interested in what the two of you eat in a given day. The skin of you and your wife looks amazing!. Do you put stuff on your face or is that from the foods you eat? Love the show. Never miss a day! Thanks for everything!

Kevin,
I would like to see the proof that bad genetics can be turned around and converted to a healthy physical scenario, whatever that may be….i.e. male pattern baldness or other things that can be inherited genetically. I would like to see this gone into depth with what is known today about whole diet therapy and the benefits thereof.
thanks,
Greg

Hi Kevin,
I’d really like to know how the ph diet information fits into raw or part raw eating.
Thanks,

Great question. I was ontemplating that myself today, in fact. The biggest thing is I’d like to convince people of is this: “You are what you eat, drink, think and feel” And also “That natural way,WORKS”
9:01 pm on July 14th, 2009
I would love some solid proof to prove to my family that eating a good raw diet you get all the things you need (protein, calcium, and the whole array of things). They are always telling me your not getting what your body needs and everyone raw tells me yes it’s in the leafy greens and dark greens, so I tell them that but I don’t know how to prove it to them, and I don’t actually know for a fact myself. Also proof that children (at least the age of 12 and up) could be totally raw as well and be fine. I want to show them that things can be reversed and stopped right in their tracks. Sorry to ramble but this one really got me fired up.
Much Gratitude,
Karen

Thanks for the great show as always. I would like to prove that eating a raw food diet can cure/help arthritis. It may take a group of people commit to a study/experiment.

I would like to see many examples of raw vegans who have been able to put on muscle and keep it on!!! I’m not talking about weight, I am talking about real raw vegan athletes and bodybuilders who are not skinny or skinny fat and also who don’t woof down gobs of nuts or that yucky brown rice and pea protein powder! Bring it on!

I would like to be able to convince my family that eating healthy and not eating junk WILL make them feel better and avoid disease in the future.

I’d like to ask- do we really need superfoods and all these extras that don’t naturally grow where we live, or can we thrive and live awesome on just the organic, vegan, raw foods that are naturally near us?

I want people to know how harmful animal product is to the body and the enviornment and that u could eat greens for building muscle not for ex. meat n such,

Hi, Kevin and Annmarie,
I don’t want to prove anything! I prefer to live by example.
What I would like to see is more herbal knowledge. I would like to see herbs in their natural form and in their natural environment. I would also like to know which ones grow in my yard and what they look like.
I would like to see examples of how to use them – some can be included in your daily diet such as wild purslane and wood sorrell, while others, such as catsfoot, are great medicinals.
I also believe that all the information that you provide needs to be stated and re-stated, because it’s a lot to remember. Also, people are more successful if they make a lot of little changes over time as opposed to stuffing their heads with a bunch of fodder and plunging in all at once.
So those are my thoughts. I wish you as much success in the upcoming year as you have had in this one.
Namaste.

I agree with Tonya regarding cruciferous vegetables and thyroid. It kind of makes me mad that research says these veggies are hard on the thyroid. I think I find it upsetting because something does not seem “natural” about that, and so many of leafy greens and veggies are classified as cruciferous.
9:13 pm on July 14th, 2009
I would love to know more about the acid/alkaline balance!
9:17 pm on July 14th, 2009
Great question – I’d love to show that artificial sweeteners really do increase cravings for sweet foods!
9:18 pm on July 14th, 2009
Hi Annemarie and Kevin. Your shows are great. I also wanted to comment on how wonderful your skin looks.
I have a question about how can one tighten loose skin? I exercise 5 times a week. Eat mostly raw. My weight is about 108 and I am 5feet 2.5 inches. I do not take hormones. I am in my 50’s.
Thank you.
9:18 pm on July 14th, 2009
I would like information to share with my friends and family about what they absolutely, even if they never convert to a raw diet, should quit eating for their health and why; with proof, of course.
9:19 pm on July 14th, 2009
This is a great idea! I would like some chatting about alkaline water. I have friends that sell these machines and talk about their benefits…but I can’t see any results from them. Is there anyway to get some experts on and your own research about the possible benefits or no benefits to alkaline water. Natural Spring water is obviously awesome, so talking about that would be nice, too.
Thanks!
Heidy

I’d like to prove that kids and adults don’t have to have dairy and the numerous effects it has with allergies and other diseases. I’d also like to show that you don’t have to go mega crazy on vitamins. A raw food diet and superfoods will take place of a lot of vitamins.
The other one is there are other choices than always getting a vaccine especially for the flu.

Acne and everything related to that topic. I’ve been vegan for almost 10 years, raw vegan for a few months now.Acne was one of the main reasons why I went raw….I wanted that glow that everyone is talking about. But I don’t see any improvements at all….:( What am I doing wrong ?

I would like to know if there is any truly unprocessed raw agave nectar. I know a couple of reputable sites that claim to sell unprocessed and truly raw agave like Alissa Cohen and Raw Fusion. So Kevin, is there really an unprocessed and truly raw agave nectar?

It’s funny I have lived 65 years without trying to prove anything. Playing sports I was average and we played a lot of sand lot sports which was fun. finish school without playing organized any thing. went into the service just before nan got hot and had that lucky guy on my shoulder because in 1967 came out of the service so for some reason I don’t feel I need to prove anything. Why change a good thing. Buy I like listening to and some time follow you that like too!!!

Hello, Kevin and Annmarie!
I would like for folks to understand that they don’t have to eat animal products to get enough protein. And I personally can’t eat nuts, seeds or cruciferous veggies and sometimes am concerned about getting enough protein myself. However, I do eat plenty of greens and sea vegetables. Some numbers would be helpful. I love your shows and the work that you are doing, thank you so much. Love your energy and smiling faces. One of your biggest fans, Roberta

I want to know how to tell which wild edibles are edible. I want to see them up close so I will be able to identify them and use them myself. I want to know how they taste and how to make them taste better–what other foods mix with them to make them desirable. I want them to be accepted by my family as edible foods!

I read an article where Victoria Botenko compared the oxidation between a potato that was juiced with a twin-gear juicer and a potato blended in a Vita-Mix. In the experiment the juiced potato turned brown right away and the potato blended stayed white for a few days. I was wondering if she would get the same results if she had used a nut mylk bag to strain the juice of the blended potato and actually compared the two juices. Would the strained blended potato juice turn dark right away also?

Interesting quesiton of the day, “What do you want to prove?” Didn’t you have a segment on research and that for everything that can be proved to be this, can also be proved to be not-this?
And to look at who is funding the study?
I am interested in recent, longitudinal studies, but also realize the traps of research and how information can be manipulated.
Thanks. love the show!

Hi Kevin,
I know they have statistics on rates of disease in vegetarians versus the average person, but it would be interesting to see data on vegans or raw foodists also!

I’ve been high raw for 2½ years and lost 60 lbs in the first 6 months. I’m still about 10 – 15 lbs overweight but it doesn’t seem to want to move. I’m convinced this is because we eat conventional produce. If I’m right, how do I prove to my husband that the additional expense of organic food is healthier for us? And will the reduction in toxins actually shift the remaining weight?
Thank you for all the incredible work you do. Adore your shows and do try to share them whenever I can!!!
Love

Hi Kevin,
You two are doing awesome – way awesome
GOOD QUESTION OF THE DAY!
Ive been into raw foods and research and blood and MUCH MUCH more for 31 years and yes I have something you would want to hear – but I cannot write it here. We should talk directly about this one.
I’m away from my office on a special project till Sat. July 25 – You can reach me anytime after that up until July 31 (my private email is above) If you email me, I’ll send you my private phone number and we can talk.
Most sincerely,
Dr Betsy

Aloha Kevin,
I have some confusion going on about just eating raw foods, that it will not heal you only keep you at the same level, I have heard that in order to heal from disease, chronic or otherwise you need to not only eat raw foods but it must be sprouted and fermented foods which is called LIVING foods, otherwise you cannot get to the cellular level for your body to heal from disease.
Also all raw foods in packages, jars, bags there is no life or energy left? Right?
Thank you!!
Warm Aloha’s,
Cynthia

This sounds like a great idea, Kevin!
Diabetes Type 1, is my concern. I have searched and searched to find how a raw food diet or any diet can reverse the pancreas being able to produce insulin, to no avail. I believe that diet can have major impact on reversing everything else, but no proof on actual healing of Type 1’s. Dr. Cousens at the Tree of Life has done this, supposedly, but I want to see others who have done it on their own and not with spending excessive amounts of money on going to a retreat like his. Proof, proof, proof,…. why is it that there are not tests/studies done on this. If there were, this would have a major effect on showing others (non-believers) that we are not just blowing smoke! Somehow, someone needs to promote and produce this kind of material. No convincing would we have to do!

Document what really happens in the dairy industry, even with the so called “organic” dairy products. Let people see through video footage what they’re really drinking!
Same thing for “organic” or “free range” beef or chicken. Let people see that the labels organic and free range are being used to market and manipulate the consumer.
I too am interested in wild edibles and would love visuals or to hear an expert on your show. I know some those weeds in my garden must be edible!

The difference in vitamins and enzymes between organic and non organic fruits and vegetables. I am specifically interested in knowing the difference between organic frozen blueberries and non organic fresh blueberries.
I would also like to prove that we can get
enough protein and calcium from fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds.

There are SO MANY books/e-books, and websites, and philosophies on living a raw lifestyle! And the majority of them go into such lengthy detail that a person becomes overwhelmed and confused in the process. Is it not possible to produce a simplified guide that would incorporate the concerns expressed by others above, enabling a person to transition into raw foods with the knowledge and confidence that their body will become healthy and vibrant?! Another major concern is detoxifying safely without debilitating reactions. We NEED someone with expertise to provide this for us!
Blessings to you,
Karen

Hey Kevin and Annmarie,
First of all, I would like to commend you for the great job you do in getting information out to the public. Your shows not only provide useful information which can positively impact the quality of our life, but you do so in a way that makes it simple… and Fun! The one question that comes to mind first is do you believe that people would benefit from a mutli-vitamin/mineral supplement when following a primarily raw diet. Also, are supplements in a whole food form better than standard synthetic. Thank you both for your efforts!
10:51 pm on July 14th, 2009
nothing to prove or bust here, just taking it all in and testing it out for myself…
but I did want to say that I really think that its impt to keep doing interviews with people who have had success with and, as you said, really “get it” about raw foods.
I say this because I watched your show and was interested for a long time but thought, “this is too extreme, I cant do it” But then you had a link to Wendi Dee and it really changed my mind– she was eating what I thought was really healthy and wasnt. That was my story too. So it struck a chord in me and guess what, not Im doing what I thought was impossible..
Just keep doing incredible shows like you are, add more personal testimonies and interviews, LOVE the recipe episodes (or any with AnnMarie in them- she’s cute as a button and the chemistry between you two is beautiful and fun!) Little by little, we can change the health of the world, one show at a time, but we have to feel like we are in relationship with real people who are struggling with similar concerns….like full time jobs, kids to raise, lower income, and resistant families…..
Thanks for all you do…sorry this is so long, just want to help you get the message out there so more people can start feeling better…
10:52 pm on July 14th, 2009
I really enjoyed your product review/recommendation shows, like when you talked about best books, websites, supplements, etc. Can you do more of those shows from time to time?
10:55 pm on July 14th, 2009
We’re all on the same path and come across many health challenges every day, related to food and other things. I think, rather than imposing an artificial structure on the show, with segments specifically designed to “pass on,” it’s better to keep on dealing with what comes up in your lives and in your viewers’ question. I strongly agree with Donna who says that things have to be stated and restated. Teachers know that information must be recycled for students to learn it. The more understanding your viewers have, the better they can pass it along.
10:59 pm on July 14th, 2009
Debra took the words right out of my mouth. I think they best way to prove is with pictures and videos, real proof. Go into the dairy plants, check out the farm raised fish (which are actually pumped with growth hormones), show the list of chemicals and additives which are used in meat, fish, dairy, poultry, as well as non organice produce.
Would also love a segment on wild edibles.
Most of all, what’s the difference b/t pure water and filtered water. How about spring water? What’s wrong with tap water? The whole water thing is a mystery to me.
love the show

I’m with those that don’t feel the need to prove anything. Example is the best policy.
I would like something on menopausal HOT flashes. There is nothing definitive about them in the allopathic literature. Chinese medicine doesn’t offer much either. I haven’t heard any raw food perspective on symptoms related to menopause. This issue is a huge problem.
Thanks for the information you offer.

i would like to see info that can counter the argument that “it runs in my family, can’t do anything to stop it.”

Thanks to the both of you for your ever better show! I would like to have proven on here that hormones will be in perfect balance when all eight laws of health are followed.

I would really, really like a way to prove to my friend Sharon that green smoothies do not make you fat and that all carbs are not created equal. She keeps saying that a carb is a carb is a carb and that my green smoothies are not good for me because of it… I know that you can make a much more convincing case than I can.
Thank you for all that you do.

another question I have been wondering…how much protein to we really actually need–I have heard it is not that much…
11:28 pm on July 14th, 2009
Thank YOU, Kevin, for all these wonderful shows you do. I can’t believe you’ve done so many. Your enthusiasm really pays off for all of us. I would like to meet more people through interviews. The ones you’ve introduced us to have been really outstanding and I have been exposed to a lot of stuff.

The fact that my children do not eat dairy, have not been vaccinated, do not eat meat and when they hang out with other children on antibiotics for a crazy, bronchial choughing cold…and my kids only get a bit of runny nose for a few days and thats it,,,Hello family; maybe clue in that what we are doing is a GOOD THING. So tired of the flack from family. The kids have “monkey shakes” with raw cacao, handful of kale, banana, brown rice milk, water, goji berries, chia, hemp hearts and LOVE IT! along with daily veggies with mama made hummus, guacamole and tons of other stuff is good rather than crappy pizza with cheese, pasta with sauce and potatoes and meat & gravy…can you tell i am frustrated?
I would like to prove that!!
Thanks Ann Marie and Kevin

I would like to know if post menopausal woman on a raw food diet are able to successfully deal with the “ageing changes” to the point of not needing BIOIDENTICAL HORMONE THERAPY.
BTW, I have unsubscribed from various “health related” newletters, updates, etc…but your shows…I JUST LOVE THEM! I like your style…I feel like you are sitting right across from me and we’re having a “health chat”….friend-to-friend. I also love the down-to-earth and sweet relationship you and Annmarie project in your shows. Very refreshing. Also, thanks for sharing your friends and family with us. As always, thanks for all you do.

Thank you for what you do! You are changing the health of the world.
What can we prove about food combining? Some say it matters and others say it doesn’t if you are raw. I personally have found based on my own self test experiments that it does affect me when I improperly combine food and I am totally raw. Just wondering….

I like your style. People need to relaize that there are not cure alls for everything. Life deals you problems and you need to learn to accept what happens sometimes. You will not beat all diseases nor will you live forever, accept it and enjoy what you can control.
I also personally find that my body repsonds well to a higher fat diet. I have a high metabolism rate so assume that that is why. Find out for yourself what your body reacts to. As Kevin has mentioned many times do your own research.

Is there anyone out there experimenting with actual age reversal in a non-medical environment?
12:21 am on July 15th, 2009
The belief that we need dairy for calcium, meat for protein, and fake sweetners for diabetes…people have been so indoctrinated that they have difficulty believing me. ALSO, that there IS a difference between organic foods and mainstream nutrient deficient chemical laden foods…the dangers of the chemicals in our food (not to mention GMO’s) needs to be seriously addressed on a large scale.
Keep up the great work!

It seems lie raw food is just full of dogma which actually does more harm than good. The more picky raw fooders become the more foods they cancel out until they left with just something like wheat grass juice. Also doing this creates excess fear which may harm the body. I think people just need to release themselves from their orthorexic (obsession with eating healthy) chains. Eat as many raw foods as possible. Eat a variety of wholesome foods and don’t stress out if you have bowl of cooked oats or a hot cup of tea. I am ranting about this because I was in this position and I have suffered both mentally and physically. Its not just about eating 100% raw. It is about being truly healthy. Eat, live, and be happy! Kevin I would love to see more videos about harvesting wild foods. I think that it is really important to get people out in nature and gather their own wild foods. I personally know that it is fun and exciting. Think about it. You are getting exercise and acquiring the best food at the same time! Now that is awesome. Trust me when you find your very first medicinal mushroom out in nature rather than in a bottle it truly brings a smile to your face.Plus you get the experience of preparing it your self. Thank Kev and Annemarie! everyone that tunes into this site is truly blest. Lots of love and positive vibes comin right at ya!

Kevin and Annmarie,
You guys are so great – congratulations on a whole year of success! And thank you for everything you’ve told and shown us – I’m still making my way through the archives on study breaks.
Rather than proving or refuting something, I’d like to hear more about the adrenals (workhorses that today’s world tend to abuse). How can people (like me) recover from adrenal fatigue or burnout? Are there specific strategies for regulating cortisol levels?
Thanks again!

I would like to watch the evolution of an athlete from eating “healthy” (as viewed from a sad point of view – in other words they think they are eating healthy) to an 80-10-10 raw vegan athlete. It would be intersting to watch their body shape change, performance improvement, personal bests skyrocket, etc. you might even be able to get dr doug involved in this. it would be truly amazing to say well such and such went from eating “healthy” to 811 and these are their results. blood…, body fat…, pb…, resulting in an increase of performance….etc and all recorded and shown to the world by you 2 and your team. thank you.

I would like to know for sure that sprouts do not have anything negative in them that harms our health. I have heard that sprouts have some toxins in them that are meant to keep them from being destroyed out in nature from other predators. I love sprouting, but after reading this in some raw book, I am now skeptical of the efficacy of growing and eating my own sprouts. Thanks for any light you can shed on this issue!!! Love, love, love your shows!!!!!

Hi Kevin and Annemarie,
I think this is a great idea for a next step and maybe the issue is the word “prove”. I do believe that there is great value in having a bit of controversial (among friends and family) validation in an easy to serve format. Video is a great medium for that—especially for those who are resistant and less likely to spend the time reading. I think of it as influential sharing of very important information.
I am interested in a demonstration of what happens to nutrients in produce over time—Safeway Vs. farmers market. Produce picked before peek of ripeness and artificially ripened vs. picked the day before market. I would like to effectively spread this word so that more people would head out to the market instead of in to the supermarket so we can increase health and sustainability.
Also, someone mentioned “a day in the life” of what you to eat, etc. I am totally interested in this—especially after your recent episode where you addressed the fat in the recipes you showcase. What does one of your more typical daily green smoothies look like? Do you strive for taste most of the time or just go straight for potency? How many smoothies do YOU “eat” a day? How long do you “chew” on each “bite.” ETC…
Thanks!
Susan

Hi Kevin and AnneMarie:
Have loved your shows for quite some time now and share your videos with my Pilates studio clients on my website. I have a simple question to ask: How can I clean my fruits and veggies properly? I don’t feel right using the “detergents” that are promoted and rinsing under water doesn’t seem adequate enough. Whether I buy organic or not – they need to be cleaned properly before I ingest them. Thanks for your help.

Are fruits good for people with cancer?
My naturopath and integrative doctor both say that I need to eat lots of fruit as the benefits are immense, especially fruit with high anti oxidants. They also say that the sugar from fruit is absorbed differently and doesn’t feed the insulin receptors on the cancer cells.
But I have heard Dr Clement speak who says that eating fruit is no better than eating spoonfuls of sugar, as the body doesn’t distinguish between sugars.
Who is right?

Hi Kevin;
I have a bunch of question i need answered, I’ll
only ask two for now.
1st Is there a way to get rid of cellulite?
2nd I keep hearing that chocolate is toxic, a stimulant, and something about my adrenal gland.
What will happen if i keep eating my chocolate smoothie and my raw cacao.
If you can prove how bad it is maybe I’ll give it up.
love you guy’s

I would love to see you talk more about children’s health and nutrtition. I have read a few clips from Shazzie’s book about the supplements she uses for her daughter (including animal based Krill oil). It would be great to hear your view on this and other important kid’s health issues. Thanks!

One more request, can you bust the cacao myth or not??? I just saw the Paul Nison and Matt Monarch debate, and would love to hear your two cents on this!!

I am with Alyse and Ashley and the other folks who want to maintain/build our athletic performance while being veg/an.
How about the idea of having resident experts? People who share your philosophy and can do specialised joint presentations (rather than interviews) on certain areas. You know, like the Cheeke man for muscle gain, etc.
The show is awesome as is, of course, so I’m just tossing that out there…

Kevin,
Great idea, to have in-depth analysis of controversial ideas, to help sort out truth from fiction.
I would like to help create a deeper understanding of how fruit is turned into fat in our bodies.
I would like people to understand that eating too much fruit will cause the liver to convert the excess sugar into fat. Even if you are following an 80-10-10 diet, if you’re eating a lot of sweet fruit, much of the sugar in that fruit will end up being converted into fat.
If there is too much fruit sugar, this conversion process can cause the liver to get congested and fatty.
I would like to see some research conducted to determine how many grams of fruit sugar can be handled at one time before it is turned into fat. Fruit sugar is about half glucose and half fructose. The glucose portion can be burned by our cells, but the fructose has to be converted. The liver can convert some fructose into glucose, but beyond that, the fructose is converted into fat.
So, people who eat a lot of sweet fruit may think they are not eating much fat, but there is still a lot of fat in their blood.
Perhaps you could ask Doug Graham and other advocates of high fruit intake for their thoughts on this issue.
It seems to me that I am better off eating modest amounts of fat (about 30 percent of calories) instead of stressing my liver with too much fruit sugar, and winding up with a lot of fat in the blood.
Also, I believe the kind of fat that the liver makes from sugar tends to be stored in the body, while fats that you eat such as coconut oil tend to be burned for their calories. Therefore, someone wishing to lose weight would be better off eating moderate amounts of fat. I believe this is why low fat diets usually don’t work. People lose weight by reducing their total carbohydrate intake, and this includes fruit sugar.
Wouldn’t it be interesting to research how much fruit can be eaten before the liver turns it into fat?

hi folks, yes to so many of those great questions. one i did not see mentioned that many still believe in is the blood type diet, where especially the o’s and the b’s say they must eat animals and their products. because i’m an ‘a’, i’m told that’s why it’s so easy for me. if you could gather a bunch of healthy raw vegans with every blood type, especially o’s and b’s, that could dispel a lot of those particular myths. as for me, i’d also love to know about edible wild indigenous plants, and how to accurately identify them. also sea veggies, where they come from, are they all safe or are some harvested from foul and unprotected waters, and how can we tell if our sea veggies are clean, and if they are not, can we make them clean? how? i soak mine in filtered water, but still feel unsure.
also, i live almost 100 miles from most organic greens, and i am tempted to buy the pesticided ones, but simply cannot. showing ‘proof’ that org foods have more nutrition, and also showing how many pesticides actually remain in the foods, would be great.
and of course, there are still so many folks who believe we can’t possibly be getting enough protein…argh!
dr. john mcdougall did a very convincing job explaining that one. he isn’t raw, but he’s the one who taught me about being vegan over 22 years ago, and yes i get enough protein!
another actually pertinent issue is about good old b-12. can anyone actually prove that it is made inside our bodies? it is certainly proven that meat eaters have at least as much deficiency as any vegan, and that would be good to expose.
well, i could go on and on and on, but i think i’ve already done that, so i’ll save the rest for another time. thanks for all you both do. it’s enjoyable and very much appreciated. oh, and fitness fridays were enjoyable, and i’m sad to see them go. i think if you changed them to a different day it could make a difference. friday shows sometimes get lost, no matter what they are.
lots of love, peace, and joyous rainbows

Results end the “debate” over whether this works or not.
Common issues: fatigue, trouble sleeping, aches and pains, “brain fog”, stress, weight, etc.
Thanks.

I enjoy your show and will continue watching it. I also understand your wish to expand and reach more audience, perhaps more potenital clients / customers. BUT it seems to me that you might want to take into consideration that so many people out there simply do not want to be told about a better and healthier life style. They feel patronized, judged, put down by those who wish wholeheartedly to introduce them to better choices. So this approach of spreading the word through the show may sometimes work but sometimes it may backfire. IMO those who seek advice will find your show anyway and those who don’t want to hear about it, well let them be.

I would like to see you talk more about cleansing would assists in the digestion of all foods, including raw. I am doing a series of gallbladder/liver cleanses, releasing many gallstones and cholesterol crystals. According to Andreas Moritz, we all have undigested fat and protein congestion stored in our bodies.
I have been studying health and nutrition for decades and this info has been the most valuable for my body. Check out his book- THE AMAZING LIVER AND GALLBLADDER FLUSH plus go to his website—www.ener-chi.com

check out the ying/yang factor of foods. To much ying ( leafy greens and fruit ) without yang ( grains and root vegies )will throw you off balance for sure, that is of course the opinion of macrobiotic eating and the ayurvedic theory.I am by far not an expert on any food system but I do know as a body worker you always need balance, especially if you live in cold climates. Love to hear your take on it. Good work guys, love to have you both at my breakfast table every morning I even cancelled the newspaper, who needs all the bad news anyway, create your own reality.

dear Kevin,Ann Marie and support team,
Many thanks for 350 highly informative shows
and these are viral anyway and already getting
the word out,as they continue i think you might want to consider getting a renegade health wikipaedia with all health topics referenced to a videoclip.ebook or download
paid or otherwise.
I would like clearer info relating to testing between diet types and energy levels.I am not 100% raw but working on it but my point is that some people
claim that meat-electrically tests better for
the human body over fruit and veg so I think this muddies the water and needs to be put to
bed once and for all.
electrical nutrition is it a scam?

Awesome ideas, Kevin. Thanks for all you two do!
I want to prove why two of the 4 food groups are not sustainable:
Why meat is not beneficial to eat on a regular basis; both why the body doesn’t want it and why it’s a leading source of environmental destruction. AND that it isn’t actually that difficult to get high quality protein by eating a vegetarian diet.
Why milk is NOT a good beverage of choice, and why dairy is something that should be used sparingly.
I want to get the word out about how pharmaceuticals can be replaced by more effective natural treatments, and how prescription drugs kill so many people! On that note, a good addition to that show may be some tips for people to try to include their doctors (if open minded) in alternative approaches.
I liked Debra’s suggestion for wild edibles, too.
Any ideas you have for inexpensive, super healthy meals is good too!
Also, as a practitioner and teacher of Anusara yoga, I’d love to see (or participate in) a show on alignment focused, therapeutic, uplifting yoga that anyone can do. Coming from an approach of precise alignment is important, as optimal alignment creates and allows for optimal circulation and healing. By coupling exquisite alignment with a heart oriented and fun philosophy it makes yoga much more enjoyable – it becomes an expression of your own creativity!
Contact me if you’d like more info on what aspects of yoga I think would be beneficial for the most people.
Huge support and blessings to you! Love what you do!

A few fragmentary answers to some ?? here: I haven’t seen anything convincing about ‘curing’ Type 1 diabetes; the Simply Raw film and a study by an LA MD show you can reverse Type 2, but reversing Type 1 requires careful confirmation first that it IS Type 1, then equally careful monitoring.
Harm in sprouts, that fear may be from the canavanine in alfalfa sprouts, only a problem after 9 cups-300g with 400mg canavanine. Many seeds begin with toxins that are released during sprouting, so the sprout is less toxic than the seed. Commercial sprouts may be contaminated, too, but that’s true of nearly all commercial products anyway. Welcome to capitalism.
As to fructose in fruits (or manufactured stuff), my rule of thumb is, no more than 16g fructose from any food [including half of any sucrose in it], and 4-5 serves of fruit a day.
Finally, Kevin, I’d like to see at least 1 show on the tendency of US rawfoodists to duplicate SAD in raw diets, through overuse of pre-chewed, processed-powdered-dried food items and exotics from thousands of miles away. Your stress (mostly) on eating FOOD is a good counter-strategy. Enough for now.

If you read Dr. Robert O. Young’s books, The PH Miracle, The PH Miracle for Diabetes and others, he says that mushrooms, vinegar, all sugars, regardless of it state, natural or synthetic are bad for you. The only fruits we shoud be eating is avacados, lemons, limes, grapefruits, tomatoes, and bell peppers, because these are all alkaline. Our bodies are alkaline by design but acidic by function. All sugars are acidic to the body. Mushrooms are a fungus and are acidic to the body.
He also states that salt in its natual form is good for you and not the table salt. Even if you have high blood pressure salt is needed.
Acid causes water retention and elevates blood pressure and pulse rate. All of your body fluids are salted with sodium chloride. Salt is the catalyst for the transportation of energy. You cannot have a thought without salt. Salt is required to keep the body alkaline and preserves it from dietary and metabolic acid. If you are sick or tired you are deficient in salt. If you have sugar cravings you are deficient in salt. If you have low energy you are deficient in salt. If you have hormonal imbalance you are deficient in salt. If you have high blood pressure or if you are fluid retentive then give up your acidic lifestyle and diet not the salt. I recommend at least 12 to 14 grams of unprocessed salt every day based upon a man or woman weighing 70 kilos or 154 pounds. Salt is life. You cannot live without oxygen and you cannot live without salt!
Thank you Kevin and AnnMarie for all that you do! God Bless!

If I steam vegtables so they are still a little hard does this kill the enzymes?
12:31 pm on July 15th, 2009
I’m totally with Katrina on the topics of meat/dairy/pharmaceuticals (& yoga).
I’ve noticed several people want the where-do-you-get-your-protein issue addressed, which is great, but I’d love to see it discussed from the perspective of how we, as a society, have been duped into believing that we need a protein/animal product centered diet in order to thrive. Shouldn’t the real question be “where do you get your phytonutrients, anti-oxidants & fiber?”.
I think if people could really begin to understand this, then the idea of a raw or high-raw diet would start to seem so much less radical.
As a suggestion, I would love to see someone like Dr. Joel Fuhrman (or Dr. Rick Dina…) interviewed on this topic. As a successful medical doctor, former Olympic athlete & someone who’s not militant about forgoing all meat or eating all raw – I think “mainstream” people would tend to be comfortable with him & find him credible and trustworthy (an expert, right?). I have no ties or affiliations with him, just a thought…
Also, I’ve noticed a lot of people are afraid of raw food because of fear of toxins, and also because they’ve heard over & over again that cooking increases digestability & availability of nutrients. I think a lot of people believe their bodies will actually be starved of nutrients from eating lots of raw food. So I’d love to see that addessed, too!
Along with the issue of pharmaceuticals!…
Thanks so much – I’ve never posted before, but watch your show & love what you guys do!!

Hi Kevin,
I’d love to see episodes with proof that a high raw diet can enable people to get off of prescription drugs for cholesterol issues, diabetes, GERD, ADHD (and all of the new “diseases” that big pharma likes to invent) etc. Testimonials from people and cutting edge holistic doctors that could be emailed to friends/family members to get them motivated to find a holistic doctor to wean themselves off of drugs.

First off Kev your SKIN looks great!!!!!
We watched the full length video with Dr. Raymond Francis on the Inner Circle. We absolutely loved the way he took a subject sooo complex and simplified it. We have heard all different levels of this information, and sometimes hearing it from an outside source ONE MORE TIME, everything clicks.
“Health Myth Busters”!!! (round up the legal staff!
) THis is a GREAT idea to pass info on to our friends and family. It is always easier to listen to an outsider, than to hear it from your “mother” or “the wife” or especially your kid.
We love the idea~ We think that sticking with the basics is best. It all started in elementary school. THE FOOD PYRAMID. The 4 Basic Food Groups, we learned them with our ABC’s. If you can give a debunking explanation, that would be a great start to some of our stubborn loved ones. A lot are afraid to miss out on Dairy and Meat and wheat! HELP!

hi kevin and annmarie! i hope you are enjoying the seattle area – it so pretty up there! the pacific northwest is my favorite part of the country!
as far as proving – i would like something substantial to back up the claims that raw vegan can provide enough protein, calcium, etc. – i think another comment was geared toward this as well. my family and friends harass me often about getting enough nutrients, specifically protein (i don’t do soy, i am allergic and don’t think it is good for us anyway, in most forms), and i don’t have a good answer. i say hemp, quinoa, blah blah blah – but that isn’t doing the trick. they don’t believe me. they don’t feel like i can intake enough nutrients to be healthy and they are seriously worried about my health because of it.
that being said, i have a lot of health issues. i have a connective tissue disorder called ehlers-danlos syndrome. i finally got sick of not getting results from the doctors and them sticking me on horrible medicines at 27, that i said enough is enough. i also have postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and bipolar disorder. i have a new lifestyle now, and am eating to help myself. after all the reading i have done and all the research, i am convinced this is a better way – but it scares the living daylights out of my family – ‘you are sick enough – and now you just want to eat these things?!’ — i have been vegan for 4 years, veg for 8 before that, and now i am doing just whole foods for the most part – some cooked still, but a ton of raw. your site has helped me with recipe ideas and more – i am just also hoping to gain a sense of understanding, and perhaps something to show my family to keep them at bay.
thank you so much for all you do. feel free to post a comment or add advice on my blog if interested.

Here are some things I’d like to get proved or clarified. Thanks!
How much of an impact does food packaging have on our health?
In my twenties I found that certain foods I prepared at home caused me to have night sweats. Honestly, I’m not sure if it was the food or the packaging that did it. However, once I stopped eating those meals, the night sweats went away. The perplexing thing is that the same food from a good restaurant or in another form did not have the same effect on me. Example: Tofu. The organic kind in the plastic packages gave me the symptoms, yet soymilk or restaurant tofu dishes did not. Just wondering if the packaging has that much of an effect.
Can the appropriate diet for someone be determined by thier DNA? Seems, it is easy to get one’s DNA tested these days, so I’m wondering about the applications of such individualized information.
Have heard that menopausal hot flashes are non-existent for women who are on a completely raw vegan diet. Are hot flashes optional for middle-aged women? Can they be completly avoided by diet alone?

Warm Blessings and Gratitude for all you share! I would love to see the Living movement shift continually towards self-empowerment and simple, live whole foods. We are abundantly provided for!

Today I was just informed of the website http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/ where you can enter any food item and look at its nutritional profile; cooked or raw.
Q: what do you think of the validity of this information?
It’s not so much the nutrient values themselves that I am curious about, seeing as how they rely upon the soil quality, but the comparisons between raw and cooked. Basically, do you think there is any value in visiting this site?
Thanks Kevin!

Oh, the new approach sounds exiting!
I have TONS of questions!!
But for now: ABOUT OXIDATION:
My approach is I make a green smothie (actually a Ann Wigmore energy soup thing), with some fermented veggies in it, and just let it sit in room temperature (with a cloes lid).
I figured “the heck with oxidation – i go for fermentation”. I cant make new smothies all the time, and fermenting is supposed to be healthy (and I think my gut needs a lot of fermented food to heal), and it is kind of contrary to oxidation (that says do NOT let it sit.)
Comments on this approach? Will fermentation ‘win’ over oxidation healthvice?

Is fruit and fat together really bad? I know about digestion times, but what if it’s say banana blended with nut milk? They both digest quick.
Do seaweeds really inhibit b12 absorption?
Is salt bad? even the good stuff? Tired of people saying it’s either poison or a necessity… which one!?

Kev: I have so many of my friends are eaing soy product like crazy. I am not convinced that soy is that good for us irrespective what is proclaimed by the American Heart Association! Does soy product actually LOWER cholesterol levels? Since soy plants produce an estrogen-like plant hormone, wouldn’t eating a lot of soy products RAISE one’s risk of estrogen linked cancers such as breast cancer? Another topic I would like for you to share with others is the coding system reflected on the little stickers which are place on each piece of fruit/veggies purchased from the store. The numbering system can tell one a lot also! such as whether the peach was grown organically, or in a greenhouse or even if it is USA grown!

Rivka,
You should read the Cornicopia report on soy and soy products:

It will surprise you.

Hey Kevin and Anne Marie,
I LOVE YOUR SHOW, you guys and Mike Adams are my primary source of information.
YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!
Now, here is my question: What is your opinion on the best time to eat our last meal of the day? (Paul Nison has a book coming out about this issue, maybe you should get him on the show).
Healthy blessings,
Daniela.

I would like you to prove to others that we are not meant drink or eat dairy products . Prove that milk sucks pass that one on.

That’s a very interesting question, what do we want to prove? It is important to remind ourselves that there’s so much we don’t know. Finding a common point of agreement between us and say, family members or others is good. I’m reading ‘Space, time & medicine’ by Larry Dossey, he talks in a lay language about how quantum physics have completely changed the way we view the world in terms of the most accurate scientific description we have for it, and these new mathematically proven, scientific discoveries are finally getting to what a lot of mystical/religious/whaddeveruwannacallit traditions say, that essentially the notion of objectivity and separateness is an illusion, and the book talks about how assimilating these new views affects our health. I also just read in Gabriel Cousens’ ‘Conscious Eating’ about how if you have enough mental energies, even junk food can be nutritious (in spite of this he advices to eat food that has good energy to begin with). So what I’m getting at is it would be nice to remind ourselves of the larger picture of a non-mechanistic view and how it relates to health. It may be tricky depending on who you’re talking to, but nowadays we have some branches of science talking about it, and of course eastern and western spiritual traditions, so whichever way you see it, occasionally having a little reminder of oneness can get our intuition up and going and lead to the ‘right thing’. By the way your show has inspired me to keep up the daily green smoothies and this was definitely written under the influence of the high I get from them!

I would like you to investigate/expose the truths behind food processing – what happens to our food in the growing, processing, shipping, packaging etc. process that would surprise us and is never on the label. For example, you have already talked about how most almonds are irradiated, even when labeled organic and the dangers of irradiated food. This is a food truth that is not on the almond label but should be!
Thank you.

May your question could be, “where can I see the reports by experts who have proven that raw and unprocessed is better than denatured and follows the S.A.D. protocols.”
Often when someone sets out to prove something, they place themselves in an adversarily position, rather than a welcoming, inspiring and peaceful position.
We could actually “prove” that raw fooders are bunch of cry baby, complaining, moaning groaning no-nothings and only parrot what the last person who spoke says.
Or we can prove that people’s lives, their very beings, have changed, as a result of a raw food, wholesome life; that it has made them more accepting, more compassionate, more of a partner with every living creature on Planet Earth. And they have a youthful outlook that belies their years.
Find THOSE people and let them speak of changed lives. I’m talking about the Angela Stokes-Monarchs of the world. Seeing is believing. Her spiritual, loving attitude speaks volumes and she doesn’t have to yell at us to prove it.

Just a word for the peri-menopausal and menopausal women out there: A skilled Ayurvedic practitioner can help you. My fellow goddesses have eliminated the use of hormone therapy and other traditional methods of controlling the uncomfortable symptoms of menopause by understanding their “dosha”, how foods activate pitta (or heat), and by using other Ayurvedic tools like herbs, yoga, pranayama, and massage to bring the body into balance during this amazing transition time in a woman’s life.
A common misconception about ayurveda is that raw foods are not recommended. Ayurveda is much more complex than that simple doctrine. It’s an ancient science which takes into consideration individual constitutions, the seasons, the environment, and other influences in life in order to stimulate and maintain prana (life force). To truly understand the subtlies of ayurveda much study is needed, so seek out someone who has studied in India or at one of the Ayurvedic Colleges in the states. Vasant Lad’s books are a place to start your personal study.

This isn’t exactly an answer to the question you asked, but it seems like a good time to say it…
I’d like to see a simple change to the website … a single page with a list of the past episodes. Yes, there is a search box for the archives, but what if I don’t know what I’m looking for? What if I just want to browse through the topics you have done and pick out the ones that look interesting to me?
Incidentally, the search box can be hacked by typing the pound symbol (#) since every episode has a pound symbol in its title. But it still takes a very long time to browse through everything this way because you only get 5 results at a time … 82 pages of results that have to load one at a time! How about one page, divided chronologically by months, with one show title per line? I think it would make the valuable content here so much more accessible!
My two cents. Thanks for all you do.

I would like to show one very selfish and lazy advantage to eating rawfoods: How I don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen cooking and washing pots! It could be interesting and funny to show our friends they no longer have to be kitchen slaves.
Health benefits don’t seem to be high priorities for many people. But laziness benefits could get more attention; they did for me!

1) I would like to know more about super foods side-effects. I was so excited to discover Maca and goji berries until my Chinese friend told me that in China they never eat goji berries often and they cook them in the soups or there are side effects (like irritated skin, pimples…). Then my little research resulted in some worrying info like:”maca does contain glucosinolates, which can cause goiters when high consumption is combined with a diet low in iodine. Darker colored maca roots (red, purple, black) contain significant amounts of natural iodine, a 10-gram serving of dried maca generally containing 52 µg of iodine.[1] Though this is common in other foods with high levels of glucosinolate, it is uncertain if maca consumption can cause or worsen a goiter.” – from wikipedia
So I would love some of the raw food gurus to comment on these issues as we start incorporating these foods into our diet via smoothies, shakes etc.
2) What is the way to avoid GM foods when organic versions are not available? I’ve read that corn, soy, squash, papaya are the top GM crops. So how can we educate ourselves to spot GM on the market (even green local market, as many times the farmers don’t say the produce is organic or it’s so called minimally treated). The only way to drive GMO from the food system is by not supporting it by not buying it and they will go out of business automatically. So we need more info on this. BTW, can u suggest any brand of organic wheat germ?
Thank you very much.

Hello,
I have a comment in regards to the oxidation comparison Victoria Boutenko did with the potatoes. My understanding of the research about blended veggies being more oxidized than juiced that Dr. Clement and Dr. Cousens comment on is that the blended food is more oxidized when measured immediately than the juice when measured immediately. It does not seem to have to do with which one browns first after sitting around. My advice is to do both! Blending and juicing! Also, when working to heal health challenges I do not recommend substituting blending for juicing. Green juices are amazing!!

Sorry my last question didn’t really pertain to your question of the day, but I’d still be interested in knowing.
How about milk. I was telling a friend that your average store bought milk was not good for you, (along with pretty much everything else he ate) and he naturally asked why since mainstream advertising certainly gives a different impression. I was not able to come up with a very good answer as to exactly why.

I would like to know if the wheatgrass juiced blended in the Vita-mix is as potent as that extracted from a wheatgrass juicer. I notice that when I blend the grass in the Vita-mix and squeeze it through a bag that the grass is paler than when it comes out of my juicer, even after the second run. If the healing properties are all still intact, I would prefer to blend and strain the juice. Is there any science that refers to this: that is, has anyone analyzed the nutrients in the wheatgrass juice after it is extracted by these two methods?

Love your show!! I learn much from it. My problem is changing old habits to healthy habits. By working on one thing at a time till it becomes routine seems to work for me.
I would like to learn more about herbs in the garden. I have cut out almost all coffee, tea with caffeine, soda etc. and replaced them with water and herbal tea.
Lemon balm, Lemon Verbeana, Mints, and Rosemary grow well in my garden. What other herbs would be good for tea?
Every morning I pinch off a fresh sprig and make tea. For winter, can I freeze the herb? How do I dry them? Will they mold if not dried completely?

Hi!
I love your show and have been a regular viewer for many months! I am sad to hear that you might not be coming to Toronto, Canada but understand when on the road plans change all the time. I recently purchased an EMF detector from your site and have had some surprising results. I live in a condo and found alot EMFs coming through the wall of my bedroom (right next to my head where I sleep!) They are coming from a wireless router in the suite next door. My laptop tells me it’s a 2.4GHz. My parents have a 3.8Ghz router and when I tested theirs, the sound from the EMF device was louder and the pulses were closer together. Could you find out if either of these frequencies are harmful if a person is to sleep with their head close to them over an extended period of time (eg. years)? My parents bedroom is also next to their home office so they are getting the EMFs while they sleep as well. Thank-you!

Hi Kevin and Annmarie. This is a great idea. I have spent the last two weeks in training for my new career and I have been defending my lack of meat eating the entire time. It really wears me out after awhile and then you stop bringing raw to people’s attention. Never mind that I feel a thousand times better when I don’t eat grains and meat!
So I want to be able to tell people about how much protein they really need. People who eat the SAD way seem to think they need meat or “protein” with every meal. And let’s say the answer is only 3 grams of protein a day that’s needed, how does that equate to raw food. How much spinach or nuts would that be?
Thanks!!

I got into raw food for many reasons, one of which was to help the allergies I’d had most of my 50+ years. After one year I still had them but after reading “The Cure”, I found the books by Dr. Batmanghelidj about water, and was cured immediately just by drinking more water. I’m shocked that even doctors aren’t aware of the benefits of increasing water intake. There are other things involved in good health besides diet and exercise, I practice meditation on the Bible, prayer, forgiveness and gratitude, but I really wouldn’t want to see religious debates be put forward. I’d like to hear more about water and salt balance. Thank you for the time you share.

Kevin, you know how our cell phones emit EMTs? (you did a show about that awhile back and used a gizmo to test different appliances and etc.) What about the phone “shields” and “dots” that you put on your phone which are supposed to neutralize or protect us from them? Do they really work, or are they just a scam?

Sonia, Sylvia, Annabelle: I’ve been on an organic live vegan diet most of the time for about a decade (when I say most of the time, I will eat good, vegan cooked food now and then, usually for a social occasion). In November of 2008, I injured my left knee very badly in an accident, from which I’m still healing (physical therapy, exercise). One side effect of the accident was that the trauma knocked me into menopause. Apart from no longer having periods (which I don’t miss at all), I am entirely free of menopausal symptoms. Yes, you read that correctly: NO hot flashes, NO night sweats, NO brain fog, NO mood swings, NO vaginal dryness, NO loss of libido, NOTHING. The only difference between before and after the accidental onset of menopause is that I no longer menstruate. I always make sure to eat adequate seaweed because my family tends to be low thyroid (except for me; love my sea vegetables), and I do eat red maca (more minerals than the other) and vanilla beans to maintain hormone balance, and take tryptophan an hour before bed to maintain adequate serotonin levels. At age 55, I’m in far better health, with more energy and vitality, than most people half my age. Despite the family thyroid history, I do eat crucifers, and love them. Other than fruit, which I eat in moderation (diabetes rampant in my family, so no refined sugars & moderate portions of fruit), no sweets except on VERY special occasions, & even when I accept them (a slice of cake at a friend’s wedding or birthday), I rarely take more than a bite or two.
Natalya: Spinach and a very few other dark leafy greens are a source of oxalic acid (which blocks absorption of the very high calcium content of spinach) WHEN THEY’RE COOKED!! Raw is the only way to go for spinach (for me, all greens taste better/react better raw).
Brenda: Read “There Is A Cure For Diabetes” by Gabriel Cousens, M.D. and David Rainoshek. Much of what you’re seeking in the way of “proof” is in the book!
Annmarie and Kevin, and all the readers/watchers, I wish you health and peace.

hey you beautiful couple you….
hope all is well in Seattle!!!
I lived in Tacoma Seattle for about five years growing up – beautiful area…
okay …you know, i think a lot of us want and need to know what to eat – and for what, and what not to eat – and why…
for example, and me personally…
what can i eat to reduce uric acids in my blood stream….I am suffering from inflammation not just to my joints but to internal organs as well….OUCH!!!!
i have phased out dairy, i have phased out all meat but sea food… i am trying to go 100% raw/organic…but is slow going…one day i will be phasing out sea food as well!
but really,i think a lot of us are curious about holistic healing to our bodies just by eating the right things….and that is what you guys have been doing already….keep up the awesome presentations, i love to pass it on!!!
and you guys look great – your skin is so smooth and glowing and your teeth are so bright and white! what is your secret… is it just solely your diet???
peace and love to you both….
and than you, thank you, thank you!!!

Hi Kevin,
I have told people, family, friends over and over how important greens are and how easy with smoothies it is to get them in. I bought 11 of victoria’s books Green for Life and passed them out. You can lead a horse to water, Hello, they still don’t get it!!! Even sharing the benifits I recieve from smoothieing! If you can show how easy & simple it is with whatever you have on hand and the results, Maybe then they will listen???!!! (I have showed too!)
Thanks,

I have a 14 year old daughter and 17 year old son. Since they were born I fed them organic healthy foods. Now they tell me to look at all their friends that grew up on soda and french fries. Look how strong they are. They are not sickly. In addition my son is smoking cigarettes. I am crushed. It seems no one their age is into the wholesome lifestyle. Do you have any ideas on how to make this cool for the younger mind. I told my kids, look at these guys are Italian,(I think) they are young and look how cool, awesome and happy they are…not to mention healthy! We need a way to capture the teens.
I don’t delete your emails. I always find someone to mail them to. Certainly, I will run out of room soon. Thank you.

Congrats on 350 plus shows!!!!
Kevin & Annmarie your shows are FANTASTIC!
I am excited about the future shows.
I would love to prove that you can consume great amounts of proteins with a plant based diet and that one can actually be protein deficient while eating denatured cooked meat.
I would love to prove that first pressed coconut oil is one of the best oils to cook with.
I would love to prove that young Thai Coconut water was actually used to transfuse into patients when there was not enough blood products during war time. Just how good coconut water and young thai coconuts are for you!
I would love to calculate the amount of antioxidant activity in a blended smoothie that has natural vitamin c, a three mushroom combination, and various super foods. Is that possiable?
I would like to prove how long the vitamin c levels last in the body with camu camu berry and with Amula (Amalaki).
I would like to prove how grounding yourself while you sleep and while your at your computer will decrease the effects of free radicals on your body. Can we measure such!
I would like to prove how much energy is in a piece of fruit on the tree, just picked, and at various times afterwards, and how much is in the fruit if we would purchase it @ the farmers market and in a grocery store.
I would like to prove the amounts of anti fungal, anti bacterial, anti oxidant, activity in a 3 cubic cm square of dried chaga mushroom along with define the things that give it the ability to regulate the immune system.
OK I will leave it at that for now.

I really love your show – great job!!! I’m in my 20s and I’m concerned about varicose veins issue. My mom has this problem and it has already started to show off on my legs too. I’m raw vegan for the last couple of months but used to be vegetarian for a year or two (on and off). I love sport: running, jogging, stretching, climbing – probably this type of exercising is not a good idea for those who has weak veins. Any info about it? I would really appreciate! Thnx.

I’d like to bust the myth that our minds can learn what is good & right for our bodies to eat, except thru the mind heeding the signals from the body itself. The human mind, particularly of westerners & of the westernized, tends to prescribe this & that for the body, ostensibly in the body’s best interests. But only the body knows what is best, & when & how much, so cultivating heedfulness is crucial to fine tuning (‘attunement’ as a mother to a preverbal baby, sine we’re dealing with a non-verbal body).
As a Taiji instructor who also has sat a good number of Buddhist meditation retreats I realize developing such sensitivity is much easier after going raw, but doing that alone may not be enough for most of us. It certainly wasn’t for me. After all, us raw converts are flexible enough to make that change, so let’s take it further, shall we. & such methods work whether you begin with hopes of needed remedial effects or only for self-cultivation, to go further. Isn’t that hat thriving is all about, eh
8:35 pm on July 26th, 2009
OK, I saw a news report on studies concluding that nutrition dwindles between the time of harvest & the point of purchase, then when we get around to eating it, significantly enough to get into sprouting, fermenting & growing our own, as we can.
Then I hope we can’t prove that most commercial organic growing is just monocrop insanity without the pesticides, cuz companion planting & spacing the same kind of plant enough to fit a few other types between helps nourish & protect, with the diversity of decay giving better nourishment than decay of he same kind of plant; plus not lining all your ducks in a row, so to speak, keeps the pests confused/offtrack. Then there’s a symbiotic relationship between microbes, mushrooms & plants, so there’s more to consider in growing organic than merely omitting chemicals.
Then is organic certification merely less pesticides & does it even require some form of spraying, just to keep their toxic foot in your door?
