Kevin Gianni is a health author, activist and blogger. He started seriously researching personal and preventative natural health therapies in 2002 when he was struck with the reality that cancer ran deep in his family and if he didn’t change the way he was living — he might go down that same path. Since then, he’s written and edited 6 books on the subject of natural health, diet and fitness. During this time, he’s constantly been humbled by what experts claim they know and what actually is true. This has led him to experiment with many diets and protocols — including vegan, raw food, fasting, medical treatments and more — to find out what is myth and what really works in the real world.

Kevin has also traveled around the world searching for the best protocols, foods, medicines and clinics around and bringing them to the readers of his blog — which is one of the most widely read natural health blogs in the world with hundreds of thousands of visitors a month from over 150 countries around the world.

    Hello Kevin and Annmarie,

for my lips, I love to use Shea butter. I have some pure shea I can use now, but I find that anything organic that has shea as an ingredient usually helps.

Over the last year I have switched from using any commercial brands to only a local one lip balm for daily use and in that time have had MAJOR improvements!! I always have on in my coat now(or some pocket it won’t melt in).

I first got mine at farmers market in Fairfield, but then realized the guy I buy be products from also sells it since she uses his prodcuts..which is even better.

Little family place in CT, but after years of skin and lip issues I LOVE their stuff now!!

PS – hope to see you both at Glen’s’ when you are back in CT in May!!

  5. jodie says:

Kevin, you still look like a cute Ewok. That burn must have been bad to still be visible.

We haven’t seen Johnny 5’s butt cross the camera since you found him. Is he hiding? We love seeing him – his on camera action is so funny.

  11. John says:

I use Burt’s Bees Balm or Eco-Lips most of the time year-round. Eco-Lips is made just 25 miles from where I live so I like to support them and they make a fantastic product also! I like the consistency of the Burt’s a little better though, it’s more dense.

Greens is one of my favorite restaurants. If you’re still in San Fran and you get a chance, try Millennium, vegan though not raw!

Favorite lip balm is not raw, but is vegan — My Sexy Lips, Naturally Naked.

I’m working on shifting my personal care products to raw and/or homemade

  17. Hi Kevin and Ann Marie,

I love your site and your youtube videos. I have posted many on my blog. Thank you for this video I am currently researching opening and organic restaurant. Also since I discovered coconut oil and distilled water I haven’t had much problems with under my lip *knock on wood*. Thank you once again.

  18. Calendula salve workes very well it helps to spead up the bodie’s natural ability in the formation and growth of new tissue cells. Also as a prevenative measure, Nu Age Labratorie’s biochemic tissue salt Calcium Flouride helps your lips in that it prevents them from becoming chapped and cracking. Hope that helps.

  19. joy says:

I like the aloe vera lip balm by Cococare. I buy it in dozens!!!

  20. carolina says:

  21. Hello Everyone – First of all, thanks to Kevin and Annemarie for mentioning our Lip Balm. Lots of great stuff out there – so I just wanted to provide some information that this community would love! We are the only U.S. manufacturer of this type of Avocado Oil. We cold press it, leave it unfiltered and unrefined. This is all done from our 40 acre certified organic avocado grove where we also live.

Our main business is the gourmet, edible oil, but we also take the same oil and make quite a few body products. Using this natural oil makes it very skin nourishing – and the way it’s processed it retains all the nutrients. Avocado oil is full of healthy properties as well as being one of the most balanced oils on the market.

ALL our body products are hand made from carefully selected natural ingredients – everything is formulated to create the highest quality, natural product available.

The beeswax in our lip balms are made from bees wax from the bee boxes that are placed in our grove for polinating the tress.

We can’t compete with some of the big brands in terms of exposure, but if you read our labels its pretty clear our products are pure, simple and full of healing ingredients. We don’t use animal fats or oils high in Omega 6 in any of our products.

Our products are always the natural color of the oil “green” – no preservatives.

From our grove to your home…….
