Hey everyone,
Wanted to give you a quick update about J5!
Last night at about 10:00 PM PST, we found him in an alleyway a few blocks from where we’re staying. He came running to us like nothing had happened. 
We want to thank each and every one of you for your kind words, ideas and support. Many of you went far beyond what you needed to do by contacting local vets and shelters, calling family members in the area and making great suggestions. It allowed us to keep looking and to continue to have faith that cats do actually come back (or at least you may have to search a bit – dark is better!).
Anyway, above is the live video that we recorded right after we found him if you want to watch!
Thanks again for helping us return him to safety.

Oh WOW I’m so glad you guys found him! It’s been a busy week for me and I hadn’t seen that he was missing until last night but I’m so glad you found him!
One time we had our cat with us when we went from Minnesota to Mass. (she snuck into the camper and we didn’t know it until we got to Mass). One night while we went into the city for the afternoon she snuck out of our window as well. When we came back my dad went in first and said “Ashes is missing” and I instantly started sobbing my eyes out. Then 2 seconds later she came running up the stairs. The silly little adventurous kitty went out into the woods outside of Boston and had her own mini-vacation for the day. I was so grateful she came back and I’m grateful that you two found Jonny 5!!
If you can afford to get him chipped that would be a worthy investment. I hope he doesn’t run out on you guys again.

Thrilled to hear that you found the other part of your family…Jonny 5!!! Wonderful news!
Brings up a question though. The last schedule that I can find, said that you would be in Mt. Shasta on the 15th and in Corning on the 17th.
Do you have your new schedule? Did you head North today? Is something still scheduled for Mt. Shasta? When? Where? Just don’t want to miss seeing you guys! Have fun on your trip north! We’re having beautiful weather up here!

So very happy to hear you found J5. He is precious as he reminds me of my little one of 21 years!! The secret is to keep them indoors and serve them as they give us so much. I would take my little Mollie outside only for short outing with me in sight every moment in our yard. They love to explore and have adventures, but it is unsafe out in the world of cars and dogs and other cats. So glad he is home safely. I know it was a stressful day to have lost him. You were very fortunate to of found him.

Wow! what a Relief! my little dog went missing for 13 1/2 hours and believe me it leaves a big hole in your heart and a tear-duct cleanse.

OH MY GOD I am sooo relieved I sent massive prayers and positive vibes your way! it really weighed soooo heavy on my heart and mind – I am a HUGE animal lover and know the hurt and worry of the loss of a pet and am thrilled that you have a happy ending and I am more excited that Johnny 5 will get to continue being spoiled with you guys! lots of love to you both and the little furball’s way!

Oh Happy Day! What a relief to have Jonny 5 back. Have you ever watched the corny, old movie “That Darn Cat?” It’s dated, but fun . . . a cat who runs away, but is really out solving a crime. So . . . you never know what Jonny 5 was up to out there!!

Dianne and I (Austin TX) are so glad Johnny 5 is ok. We were so concerned about his health and safety during his adventure outside his normal surroundings. We see this event as a great educational opportunity: “Can you keep yourself healthy and safe outside of your normal surroundings?”
You both showed us your cat is such a priority by putting everything else on hold. Another health subject could be: “Are you willing to put health as your highest priority and, are you willing to put everything else on hold?”

here in Germany exist a organisation that can track lost animals if you have bought a collar with an tiny sender in it. I do not know if this exists in US also. And it is probably also regional only. Just wanted to throw in this idea. Hope he didn’t get a taste of outdoor walking now!!!!!!

good to hear jonny 5 is home. we lived in a caravan with cats and we found the male liked to go for walks with us daily. if he got his walk he stayed close to home the rest of the time. we have another male now and he also comes for a walk when i walk the dog. funnily the females don’t walk as often or not at all. So maybe Jonny 5 would benefit from a walk each day. Cheers kath

Glad you’ve found your baby!!!! We have one that is always trying to sneak out into the woods out back. Once when a friend left he slipped out with her. We didn’t even know that he was outside until a day had gone by. We thought Smokey had just been messing around in the house as he sometimes does and we had been very busy!! My daughter almost lost it. She kept saying I can hear him but she didn’t find him until another day had past. It was one of the coldest, snowiest days and she found him trying to keep warm under a neighbor’s deck up the hill from us. So we know the feeling…Welcome Home JONNY 5!!!! love to all, Linda
