Normally, I’m in favor of all things like natural, particularly when it comes to things like natural bodyweight exercises. However, I’m just not buying this whole organic thing. Two points:

    1) Can you point to any study done where they’ve taken an organically grown apple, a regular apple, washed both off, and found any difference between the two?

    2) Isn’t it true that Organically grown food takes up far more space to grow because it is so inefficient? This means less forests and nature (and golf courses) for everyone, doesn’t it?

I’m curious on your thoughts are on this, as well as any of your readers. :)

Wow. That definitely makes it hit home Kevin! Its a little scary!

I had a period of eating 100% organic foods, almost 2 years. Then I moved and was not able to get 100% organic. I noticed a significant decline in health and vitality. I didnt feel well.

Its worth the money. With that said, I still havent gotten back to eating 100% organic!

We are always doing our very best even when we’re truly not.

Thank God our best keeps getting better day by day!

Kevin & AnneMarie, I thought you might be interested in this free website (or at least some of your viewers might). I do not have a television and find reading the headlines keeps me up to date without all the extra terror or aggravation that you get from hearing or seeing the news.

yourglobalgrid.com is my son’s (& his friend’s) website. You can click on the world news map and get the headlines from multiple sources. You can slow the headlines down by clicking on stop towards the top of the screen and then click on the forward symbol when you want to go to the next headline. You can click on the name of the article and it will link you to the complete article. You can x that page out, and then be back on your global grid . com and continue reading the headlines.

I appreciate all the inspirational work you do and all that you give to others. Thanks for what you do.

    Sincerely,
    Shirley Copeland
P.S. I was putting the markers on the map by hand, but that is a tedious job. My son Danny now has automatic feeds from several different reporting agencies. (Am I glad of that!) The only problem Danny says, is that with the automatic feed, occasionally the story marker is not at the correct location on the global grid. I don’t think anyone would mind that.

Good job, Kevin! This video may seem to be overdoing it a bit, but it makes you think. We tend to not take seriously enough the negative consequences of ingesting substances meant for only one purpose: to kill. They may not be in large enough quantities to kill us immediately, since they are dose-dependent and we are larger than the insects, but they load our bodies with toxins that affect our liver, kidneys, skin, immune system, nervous system, brain, etc.

Unfortunately, with economic difficulties and organic produce prices in some areas at least twice the cost of conventional, it is very difficult. Some of us are struggling to put ANY food on our tables, much less organic. One thing we can do: grow and sprout as much as possible at home in sprouting jars, plastic trays, flower pots, planters, etc., even if we live in apartments or mobile homes with no real yards. We do what we can.

You and Annmarie are fun to watch, make us think, and are encouraging. Keep up the good work!

Ha ha – I can see why this generates some negative feedback! But it really is a powerful demonstration… I think it’ll definitely get me thinking twice before I non-organic produce in my basket! Thanks, Kev :)

Your show was a great example about how toxic pesticides are. I think it is foolish and unnecessary to spray any chemicals on crops since the pests could be controlled by a polyculture farm, rather than a monoculture farm; use of beneficial insects; balanced soil; companion plants; and crops rotations.

I love this show! I learned alot from it. Thanks Kevin for opening up my eyes to the difference between grocery and organic foods. I am grateful to you guys for information like this.

Love it! It is a very simple, powerful, easy-to-understand message. Congratulations for coming up with a way to drive the message home that doesn’t even require words: just one image of a person spraying raid on an apple.

I love it! If it’s okay with you guys, I’d love to put a link to this on my next “eating for our children” newsletter. I’ll also be showing it to the grandparents, in-laws and anyone else that has thought us crazy for all of these years for eating organic!
    peace.

The demo was ok and sort of in your face for someone who doesn’t eat organic. (I do). I am wondering, how you disposed of the food that you sprayed and I hope no animal got into it.

You never answered the question, “How does one know that the produce marked ‘organic’ is truly organic?”

I think that was the most important question you pointed out and then you didn’t even talk about that.

Loved the video!! I drive about 35 miles one way to my “local” grocery store which now carries lots of organics. I buy everything organic that I possibly can and get lots of comments from the check out clerks, mostly about cost. Most people say things like, “I’d love to eat organic but it’s just too expensive.” O.k., my bananas are like .10 cents more than conventionally grown…not much right? I know organics seem more expensive up front but not if you consider them a form of health insurance. How much more per month do I actually spend on organics?…maybe $50.00 to $75.00 total on the difference, MAYBE. Most folks spend way more than that on fancy coco-mocha-venti-frip-frap-a-chinos and ghastly fast foods for their kids. I do kindly tell people that it’s just a priority for me. I’d rather spend $1.00 more on a beautiful bunch of organic kale than have the stuff that’s had poison sprayed on it. This winter I’ve grown broccoli, cauliflower, and greens in my small front flower beds. Total cost to me -about $10.00 for 10 heads of broc. and 8 heads of cauliflower. I know not everyone lives in an area to grow their own veggies but it is a super way to save money, connect with the food you put in your mouth, and know for sure that it hasn’t been sprayed. Whew! This is such a rant for me. Sorry everyone, it’s just that I heard the “organics are too expensive” stuff for many years when I owned my health food store. Yet the same people would spend all kinds of money on supplements and then drive away to pick up Mickey D’s for there “hyperactive” kids. IMHO, eating organics comes down to priorities and people’s inability to look at the whole picture…eating better quality food = better health, better quality of life, less meds, more energy etc. Whewee, I’m going to have to go make a non-sprayed kale salad and relax after my long post. Hope Ann Marie and Kevin are having a great time!

Deep down we know our food is laced with chemicals if it is not certified organics.
However, this really brings it to the front of our minds.
I think we all need to remember this show when we are shopping for our food.
    Knowledge is power.

First, I don’t think anyone would argue that they DON’T want organic food. It’s the price that bothers them, and distance.
Second, comming from someone who grew up on a farm, a farmer does not work and run a farm for FREE!!! You’re asking the farmer to spend more on growing food (no fertilizer:longer it takes plant to grow, no pesticide:more plant loss to insects) AND sell it to you cheaper. Don’t even get me started on government regulations and Market Boards!!
When organic/local farmers have all the buyers, the price will go down. The price of non-organic food is not realistic. Here in Canada, regular farms routinely hire poor people from Mexico as cheap labour. They wouldn’t be able to stay in business if they had to pay a decent wage.
People need to educate themselves on the real cost of planting/growing/harvesting and shipping food.

How do we REALLY know “ORGANIC” food doesn’t have ANY pestisides??
“ORGANIC” might just be a money making LABEL?

Do we take their(growers & sellers) word as truth?

Organics might also be sprayed and we don’t see the men in WHITE SUITS & goggles.

Thanks for the demonstration, I truly enjoy your show and appreciate your dedications to pass on the word.

    Hi Kevin,
a bit of a simple arguement proposed, a bit like which transport should we use Bicycles or Cars? Or if you are in pain should you use Paracetamol or Heroin/Morphine? The Organics vs Conventionally farmed food is abit bigger than that, bigger than is it a good thing or a bad thing. l notice in your posts l have seen you driving in a car. Hey don`t get me wrong l prefer Organic food, but Kev man don`t demean yourself by over simplifying the debate. Cheers from downunder.

I am trying my best to purchase more organic foods.
    Chemicals scare me.
Now I just need to convince the grocers in my area to stock more organic.

Thank you kevin, I love this video! Thanks for showing this so vividly, for people who don’t understand why they need to eat organic. Your video makes it quite obvious. I appreciate all the work you do, thank you very much.

I just have to comment on the first comment by Dave. I really don’t understand how people can miss the point. If a crop has been sprayed thousands of times then that entire fruit contains the pesticide, not just the outside. Why do you think the government requires crops to be chemical free for a certain number of years in order to carry the USDA seal of Organic!?!
