I Know lots of people are posting all sorts of ooos and aaas and for the life of me i can’t figure out what the hell is wrong with these people. I have enjoyed the last few shows about as much as being forced in to watching someone’s vacation videos or a slide show etc. I appreciate that you are excited about your RV and you have my congrats. But, give it a rest already. You have gone from healthy living issues to narcissism. Is there a RAW solution for that?

As for naming your new family “member,” a whole flow of ideas came to mind and they all begin with “The”…
“The (Lean, Clean) Green Machine” (has a familiar ring, eh–maybe too familiar)

My initials are VEG so of course my nickname in the Navy was “Veg.” I wrecked a moped while stationed in Hawaii and ended up with severe road rash so it became known as the “vegomatic.” (it slices it dices). Remember the 1960s device? It was one of the pioneer vegetable processors “accepted” by the American public. Hopefully your message will be widely accepted one day. You also have an automatic transmission vehicle that runs on vegetable oil, so my choice is:
The Vegomatic (VEG for short)
(could also be spelled veggimatic, vegimatic, vegamatic etc.)
P.S. Whatever name you decide, you should christen it with vegetable oil instead of wine. Just be sure to have your pump hose handy to suck that oil into your “fuel” tank if you actually break the bottle!

I went for a long walk today in the unusually warm sunshine– for January– here in the Midwest. I always do some of my best problem solving while going for a walk. I thought I had a winner in
“Olive Oyl” (because you are running on veg oil)
but when I came home to post I saw that Karen had already posted that one. I give my vote to “Olive” whose full name happens to be
“Olive Oyl Greenhouse” she runs on veg oil and is green and she is your home for now.

Kevin and Annmarie – I have given this a lot of thought today and I don’t think you necessarily need to name the RV and much as you need to advertise yourselves…I think that you should have that cute picture of yourselves that comes up at the beginning of the show painted on the side of the RV and then underneath write…the Ramblin’ Renegades…Changing the health of the world one mile at a time…check us out at http://www.RenegadeHealth.com. That way if one of us sees you we can have a special honk or something and then you will know that we are followers of the show. Then you can give the RV a pet name if you insist. I like the name, “Raw Horizons” Did you know the February issue of Veg News magazine has a Global Event Calendar listing international vegetarian events? Since you are touring, the first event listed for 2009 is January 22-25 the “Guelph Organic Conference in Guelph, ON at guelphorganicconf.ca
Next listed is an event called “Mogo Workshop” in Portland, Or on Feb 7, Then listed is a “Natural Products Expo” in Anaheim,Ca, March 6-8.
I hope you come to Pasadena Ca because this convention city needs more raw food hype. Maybe you could carry a banner behind the floats next Rose Parade? Or decorate your RV up and enter it in the smaller Do Dah parade here? What you can picture doing in your mind’s eye, you can achieve. So I hope you visit all the major cities of America when they hold their green conventions and be presenters with a booth. It’s a bit time consuming but does get the word out to people who might now otherwise know about what you’re doing.

Have you ever watched the movie, “RV” ? If you haven’t you MUST watch it! It came out a few years after we took our 6 week, 10,000 mile trip around the country, and after seeing this movie, we wish we could have named our RV “Lola”. (Lola is the name of their GPS that often gets them into trouble.) This movie is a must for anyone planning on taking a roadtrip in an RV (although it’s, perhaps, even funnier after the trip)! It has Robin Williams in it, so it’s a guaranteed laugh.
Ok, so my answer isn’t quite raw-food related, but believe me, living in an RV for several weeks or more is quite an experience, and I guarantee that after your trip, if you rewatch that movie, you’ll sympathize and think back to all your crazy times living in an RV.

Don’t have a name, like a lot of the ones suggested, can you narrow it down to maybe ten and then have us vote?
Also, is this used vegetable oil we are talking about? I teach at a school and am thinking it would be a great trade-off to stop at schools, show the RV and give a schpeel about raw foods in exchange for the school’s used vegetable oil. If you don’t have time for schpeels, you could drop off a dvd. Schools are EVERYWHERE and fry EVERYTHING! You could do the whole trip without paying for fuel, seriously. What a great example.
Plus elementary schools especially eat these kinds of visits/guests up. We’re in Atlanta and my students would LOVE to know they are saving oil for you. They could follow your progress for a great geography lesson, you could post occasional shows for kids. I grew sprouts in my classroom for a while and the kids loved them, ate them right out of the dirt. I am working with a local grower to do a sprout festival with the students, so if you were coming here we could time the festival with your visit. I have a great video of them and sprouts if you need inspiration…
Does anyone know resources to look at for my school to use our cooking oil to run the athletic buses…is that a possibility?!

The name of the RV should be simple and easy to say and vegan and green movement oriented. I think these are good:
* green-mobile
* veg-mobile
* grease-mobile (my favorite because it is humorous, self-effacing and focused)
On the side of the green-mobile you need to communicate succinctly what you are all about while promoting viewership of your blog:
“Renegade Health TV … ON THE ROAD!
Coming to your town soon ….”
plus your tag line: “Together we can change the world …”
In addition you need a phone contact number and your url on the side of the RV.
