My 8 year old son enjoyed watching the video, too. He also enjoys jumping on our mini trampoline.

Our favorite exercise to do together is to take the dog for a walk/jog by the creek. It’s so much fun that it doesn’t even seem like exercise.

I used to do the airplane thing with my son when he was a baby. One day he had diarrhea in his diaper and it slopped down my pantlegs! Ew, gross! A memory for a lifetime….

I think one of the best exercises with kids is bike riding. I did a lot of babysitting when I was a teen and that seemed to be all the kids wanted to do. A close second would be swimming.

I have a three year old, so we try to find exercises for her that are age appropriate. My daughter’s favorite exercise would be to run across our living room floor, imitating a different animal. So, she will do sqat jumps imitating a frog or on all fours as a dog. When I play with her, I run out of breath very easily. It gets your heart rate way up because it’s a fun way to incoperate some strength exercises combined with some cardio. She also loves playing hide and seek. She is currently in a gymnastics class, and she has so much fun running full speed. It’s great to get your kids up and going. It’s also very fulfilling as a parent seeing your child active and having so much fun while doing it!

We have a two year old that loves to dance, do yoga and play hide-n-seek. Playing with her is a lot of fun and laughing ’till you’re out of breath is GREAT exercise! Children are the best thing ever, just wait and see! =)

I don’t have kids but I like to play with kids on the sidewalk (not this time, too dangerous with the ice and snow). A game called, in french, “la marelle”. It’s a board draw on the ground with 2 squares, 1 square, 2 square, one square etc until you reach a block named “the sky”. So you jump 2 legs, then 1 then 2 etc until the sky then you come back the same way.

great exercice and a lot of fun :)

      Happy holliday season to all.

Favorite exercise with my kids… hmmm, I guess watching them play a video wouldn’t count, huh? I’d say taking a long walk outside. Love the fresh air and the opportunity to talk with them.
      You guys are awesome!!

So cute.. Brianna is just like a little Annmarie. :) Thank you Brianna, for the tips on the mini trampoline.. you are a little fitness star.

My favorite exercises with kids are skip rope and the hoola hoop. Of course, they’re always much better at it than I am, but its sooo much fun.

Brianna is so cute, and a great instructor with a little program design help from Annmarie :-)

I always enjoy wrestling with the kids, but Dance Dance Revolution was a hit this Christmas. I think of it as a sophisticated way of doing jumping jacks, and getting all of your family to laugh hysterically at you.

Another fun exercise for kids is the crane wrestling game. All participants stand on one leg, and your goal is to push each other down using your arms. Once your raised leg hits the floor, you’re “out.” It usually boils down to everyone hopping around each other laughing too hard to catch their breath. No one ever realizes they’re exercising.

Merry Christmas guys, and here’s to an AWESOME new year for the Renegade Health Show!

      Cheers,

      John Sifferman

They say that kids are the investment, grandchildren are the interest, and just found out that my newlywed daughter is expecting! The two of you would OBVIOUSLY make such great parents (much less grandparents) so how about it???? Good luck and Godspeed! xo Noga

That was such a cute segment!! How delightful! I have a 10 year old son, and we like to play tennis and do yoga together, and we love nature walks. There are plenty of state parks within driving range. Please get out and support your state parks. Take a plastic bag to pick up refuse along the trail left by winds or people. Mother nature and the planet will thank you!!

      Hi
      Thanks for this :)
my 8 year old daughter and I love to have ‘wake up shake up’ in the morning. We love to play the beans game:
runner beans (poss a British term) – run on the spot.
jumping beans – jump on the spot
      Broad beans – star jumps
french beans – say ‘ooh la la’ in a french accent!
String beans – do them all together!

Have fun and here’s to an awesome 2009:)
      love Shona

kids love doing anything with you because you are spending time together. Our favorite is to take the dog for a walk on the beach. It is always a different adventure. We live a mile away from the ocean and don’t take that walk enough!

I dont have kids but I love playing with my nieces and nephews. We love dancing, jumping on the trampoline, playing Wii fit, or playing catch.
Chinese jump rope is fun too. One thing we love doing with a ball is standing in a squat position while you play catch-whoever straightens their legs first is out!
Thanks for a fun show! :)
