I feel like I don’t even have to introduce Mike Litman…
Why?
Because he’s been such an influence on how I’ve grown my mindset over the past 5-6 years.
But of course, for those of you who don’t know who he is, he deserves a bit of drum roll type intro on the show.
I got his “Greatness Held Hostage” CD maybe 5 years ago and it literally changed the way I thought about everything.
Mike has interviewed a list of who’s who in the entrepreneurial world, he’s connected with many influential people, he’s a motivator and he’s created an amazing coaching team in the past… he’s got a few things up his sleeve as well (which is the reason for our meeting today).
So basically, he’s a pretty cool guy… and what’s even better yet, he and his brother Brian (who together run their coaching business) have an adventurous spirit.
We took ‘em to Quintessence and gave the shots of Island Fire (raw noni) from Elements for Life…
Take a look to see what they thought… (Mike also gives a tidbit of greatness as well for you all!)
Your question of the day: Who can be your mentor? Who can you reach out to to help you grow?

kevin,
Today i had a stressfull appt. at the cardiologist. I was so nervous about a possible problem and during one of tests, my heart felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. I took your advice, concentrated on my own mantra, and i totally calmed down. Guess what, good news! My appt. was really really good. Thanks for your show on stress.

hey kevin-
happy belated birthday!!!!!
you’re a pretty good mentor yourself! thanks for teaching me about audio blogging at the east end food coop in pittsburgh when you and annmarie were passing through!
so, i just had an interesting encounter around food, and even though it’s sort of silly, here goes as a birthday thought for you…
terri
mosquito enlightenment:
december 7th, 21-degrees and falling fast in frigid pittsburgh, when…
cleaning up after dinner and to my amazement a mosquito lands on a tiny piece of chinese cabbage at the edge of the salad bowl.
(seems like there’ve been more summer bugs around this winter than ever – global warming, i assume. but a mosquito???)
my first reflex was to swat it, but then i looked more closely…
at how thin he was. how delicate his legs were.
how his stinger was gently poking the chinese cabbage for hydration or minerals or a connection to the earth – or all three…
and then it hit me that we were one!
maybe i called it wrong, but it sure seemed like this exquisite creature had no intention of sucking anyone’s blood!
he was way over that.
no more protein for this guy…
he was lightening-up and getting ready to cross to the other side — where the bloodsuckers are all reformed and eat greens.
and so i left him there to graze and rest his feet on leaves.
when i went back to check on him-
uh-oh! he was gone!
hope he didn’t eat the last supper and get a second wind going!
happy birthday,
t.

I love the Island Fire, and it is perfect to warm you up during the cold New England weather. I was laughing because as I turned on the video I had a glass of water with some Island fire in it next to me.
Question, in being effective as a digextive tonic do you think it would be most beneficial to take in the morning, with meals or in the evening simply in water. Thoughts??
As to mentors, in my search for healthier living I would have to say you and AnnMarie, Glen and others I’ve met through the Cafe, my naturopath and some very informative people I have chatted with at farmers market. Lol, I don’t have 1-2 I think of as specific mentors but definitely have been helped by you all

Ruh-roh ~ can anyone else get the Noni link to work?
Fun show Kevin – nice to meet the brothers too. Look forward to listening to their audio.
Thanks Kevin and Annmarie!

Hi Kevin and AnneMarie,
I was so excited to see in you Quintessance today (obviously) haha. I think you guys are my mentors. I am thinking that after 1 1/2 years of being 100% raw in different ways, high fat, low fat, high fruit, no fruit etc. etc, I think Doug Graham is my mentor now as I feel THE BEST when I follow his diet. So I think I have finally found my way.

Hi Kevin & Annmarie!
Well there have so many mentors in the Raw Food Community and it seems as though all of you (that includes both of you!) already reach out to the rest of us to help us grow. SO this is a tuff one.
I would pick Renee Loux Underkoffler as she exemplifies the qualities and knowledge that I would like to have and share with the world as well.
Have the Very Best Week EVER!

Along the lines of what Mike was saying, I can’t really speak to any one particular mentor but surrounding myself with successful people, and with people who have the same goals that I have has really helped me to stick with my goals and remain present.
I do also find great inspiration in what you do, Kevin!
WOO!! Congratulations on 200 episodes!! I’m looking forward to your big announcement!

After drinking a shot of Island Fire, I always get a feeling of well being. It makes me feel really good.

Woohoo!! 200 episodes of the Renegade Health Show. No wonder I feel so healthy.
Time goes by so fast when we’re having fun.
I would definitely have to say that you, Kevin, and Annmarie are my mentors in the health world. I listen to talks and read a lot of books by different health professionals, but you 2 are the ones I keep coming back to on a daily basis and who keep me motivated. I always know I can find the truth here and gain support through your leadership and the blogs.
Congratulations for doing such an awesome job on getting the word out. You’ve hit on an excellent concept of adding the personal touch by being visible and I would keep coming back time and time again. I only hope we can continue to enjoy finding our way through the mounds and mounds of health information with you as our coach. I can’t wait to see what you have in store for us in the New Year..

(Message originally sent on Sunday, but wound up going to customer support – oops!)
Hi Kevin,
I just wanted to wish you a magnificent birthday, and to agree with
you that signs do exist. Sometimes I have ignored the signs – that
powerful, spiritual energy that will guide you on the right path. I
admit that on a few occasions I defiantly rebelled against the signs
- to my dismay. Currently, I am riding a great wave of signs and
their power.
One of the greatest signs smacked me right in the face two years ago when I opened my mind to health and fitness, and in walked your bride. But I also have to give you a lot of credit to where I am
today (sorry, Annmarie!), because if you guys had never met and
became the Live Awesome/Renegade Health team – you had never seen the sign that she was the woman for you – we may have never met.
So, in a swirl of cosmic dust, I wish you a lifetime of signs and a
spiritual surfboard to ride the flow. With your upcoming road trip, I
think you are well on your way.
Happy 30th!
Kurt

Funny Kevin
Firstly, apoloigies for the off-topic comment but how else to acknowledge you directly?!
And Happy Birthday again – your existence and presence soo makes a diffference!
Thanks for sharing, always
And about the number 10. You may have had such feedback/responses… Mine is the number 4 and 44 especially. Said to be ‘the door’… again, number plates, cloak tickets, street signs, hotel rooms stayed in, house numbers lived at, especially telephone numbers ending in! And I was totally enjoying the phenomenon, just like you say, a signal that we’re on the right path. And if that feels good, then why not follow that philosophy. But I thought I’d do a little experiment, just for one car trip home. I closed my internal door to ’44′ and kept an eye out for 22. And, sorry to burst a bubble, but lo-and-behold, I stopped seeing 44 on every second number plate and saw 22 in its place. Hmm… I” was seriously beginning to believe it was a conspiracy-like phenomenon.. Why on eart are there sooo many telephone numbers and number plates ending in 44?? And indeed, initially I did only correlate the sightings with a time in my life when I felt everything was on track and running smooth, on the ‘right’ path
Anyhoo, like I said, if it works for ya, then why not use it as a compass
But the connotations could be followed far and wide and deep
Hey, also wanted to acknowledge you again (amongst your thousands of subscribers/inspires), for your commitment and presence to making a difference. That you make as much as possible, accessible to as many as possible, is a beautiful thing and shines in the shadows of many others who occur to be losing sight of that initial objective, and to me, occur as being caught up in the making of a dollar. Absolutely – make money from doing what you love – I’m soo ALL for that!
However when one’s voice and words seem inauthentic, I feel we not only lose interest in their sharing, but unfortunately in what they are saying beneath their ego, which of course could be more valuable than any amount of money. So, to you! And Anne-Marie, for keeping it REAL
)
And I’m off for my first live blood analysis tomorrow, directly inspired by your little vid
Thanks for you Kevin

Re: live blood analysis!
Wow! Got the juice! And now I know too much… hahaha
A terrific (in the authentic sense of the word) insight into the world of my existence. This behind-the-scenes exploration truly reveals the impact of everything we do to ourself! One can no longer plead ignorance after this experience…
Awesome, invaluable tool for gaining clarity and direction into the path of one’s ultimate health, which can be quite overwhelming in today’s society. Thanks again for sharing your clarity and commitment. You are inspiration
Blessings,
Sufiyo

Happy Belated Birthday and Congrats on episode 200.
I tried to go to the audio link Mike mentioned and it didn’t work. Took me to a page ‘totalcoach.com’ but it was blank. Not sure why. Could you help me out.
Thanks in advance and have a great day.

The person that comes to mind first is Karen Knowler. I have never met her, but what she writes has sure helped me deal with emotional eating over the last couple of years. She always offers great insight and interesting exercises to do.
BTW, happy belated birthday!

I prefer Mona-vie – Who has heard of it? Acai berries from Brazil. They have a great marketing plan. Let me show you the plan.
