These kale chips are better than Cheetos, Doritos and Cheez-Its combined…
The show today is pretty special and you’ll find out why in just a second. 🙂
This is a perfect recipe to snack on when you’re watching a movie or to bring to a party!
Take a look…

Here’s the recipe:
Raw Food Kale Chips
Annmarie got the idea from Rawbin at rawbinsrawbin.blogspot.com
Ingredients:
2 head Kale, Washed and Torn
¾ cup Tahini
¼ cup Tamari
1/4 cup Cider Vinegar
½ cup Water
2 scallions
1 clove garlic
1 lemon (juice of)
¼ teaspoon Sea Salt
1/4 cup of nutritional yeast
Preparation:
Place kale in a large mixing bowl. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth to get a thick consistency. You may have to add more water. Pour over kale and mix thoroughly with your hands to coat the kale. You want this mixture to be really glued onto the kale.
Place kale onto a Teflex sheet, on top of a mesh dehydrator screen, and dehydrate for 6 hours @ 115 degrees. You’ll need to use two trays. Rotate kale occasionally to dry uniformly.
Live Awesome!
Kevin
Well done Annmarie!
Tell Kevin he can retire ; )

It was great meeting both you and Kevin this past weekend at the BWE3.. What a great time that was!
After reading about the accident you both had on your way to the event I’ll have to answer “YES” to your question, “does Kevin need a vacation”… Absolutely YES!
The kale chips look delicious. Nicely done AnnMarie. Kevin has serious competition 🙂
You did awesome, I can’t wait to try the Kale Chips.

Yes! Balance grasshopper … balance.
Yay! I love it, Annmarie! Great job…
I think you & Kevin should pick one day out of every week where we viewers can have you all to ourselves! 🙂
“It’s Annmarie Wednesday, on The Renegade Health Show!”
Now, for The QOTD (question of the day)…
I’m pretty confident that you and Kevin both deserve a really great vacation!
GOOD JOB, AnnMarie. I am going to try this soon. Keep up the great work. Mrs. Allen
Well done Annmarie! Great show ! You are a natural!
I am definitely going to try those chips they look yummy!
Yes I think both of you deserve a vacation! after all the work you have done lately.
Have a great Thanksgiving!
Josette
Dear Annemarie,
You are Awesome! I love your centered sincerety and quiet power. And yes, I love Kevin’s boisterousness, but I also loved the focused delivery of the receipe, complete with extra tid bits of kale trivia. Thanks. You both deserve time away from electronics. Go enjoy.
debra
You did a great job, I’m proud of you
Everyone needs a vacation sometimes
Annmarie! Awesome show!
Kevin definitely needs a vacation. We will all miss you guys if you’re gone for a week but it’s more important that you guys don’t burn out and get to have some quality time for yourselves!
I hope to see you step to the front more often in future shows. You rock, Annmarie!
WooHoo!!! Great show AnnMarie…you make us gals proud!
And, of course you BOTH deserve a true vacation!
Sending the love!
~Liz
AnnMarie, I enjoyed the show. Yes, it was different without Kevin, but it went very well just the same.
Someone mentioned having a day with just you. That would give Kevin a day off from the show (other than editing). That could be a good thing for him to have one day off a week.
You both deserve a vacation. Go for it!
Viveca
Looks like a fun and tasty recipe! I’ve been looking for veggie snacks and I’ll give this one a try! Thank you!
GREAT job, Annmarie!! Welcome home :-).
…Kale chips will be the snack-o-the-day at my family’s traditional After-Thanksgiving dinner card playing marathon…what a radical change… it has always been pumpkin bread and snickerdoodles 🙂
Yep – Kevin – and YOU – – deserve a wonderful vacation very very soon :-).
Yes take a break! You both deserve it!
Annmarie, you did great! a bit more mellow which is nice. A wonderful recipe, I love kale chips!
Have a lovely, relaxing vacation…
you both deserve to leave the computer at home to rest until you return, refreshed and ready to go.
GOOD JOB,Annmarie!!!!! Yes, I agree that Kevin needs a major vacation. I say that you should do it more often.Just to say it again, you were AWESOME!!-Sydni
great job annmarie!!! i was just trying to find a recipe for this exact thing! looks amazing.
i think both you and kevin should go on a nice vacation! you deserve it!
thanks for the great show..
lisa
Hi Anne Marie,
Loved the show. I love Kevin too, but he can be a little nervy at times when he butts in while you explain a recipe. Today was nice and smooth. I will try those chips. I love kale.
Carola
ANN MARIE!!!!! YOU ROCK!! well done I love the two of you together but ya did good I still very much enjoy your kitchen enthusiasium, and I am definintly going to make those yummy chips soon, I just made the kibbe for a friend of mine and I wasnt sure if I was gonna like them, but they wre sooooo good I ate a double portion, so I am so full right now ,but hey they were that good. Keep up the good work
Annmarie,
BRAVO!!!!! Well Done.
Kevin and You deserve more fun.
Love and Peace.
Great Show. You did real good.
Good job Annmarie, I miss you when your not on. Just want to let you know how much I really appreciate all the effort that you & Kevin put together to make all this happen for all of us here. You are awesome! Thank you!!! You both deserve a vacation.
YAY!! You were fantastic Annmarie! Those Kale chips do look yummy, especially as a good alternative to tempting junk foods.
Kevin does give off the impression that he’s closely related to the Energizer Bunny and that he could go on forever but I think you both definitely deserve a vacation. Especially considering all of the awesome stuff you’ve been up to as of late.
You did a great job Annmarie! And thank you for this kale chip recipe. I’ve been wanting to make some but I hesitated as the recipe I have calls for almond butter. I’m glad yours doesn’t (as I don’t have any right now).
I think it will be fantastic that both of you get to take a ‘real’ vacation in January! Heaven knows you both deserve it – all the work you do.
Thanks again for sharing all that you do with us, I appreciate it and look forward to your show. *Ü*
Yay! Let me cast another vote for Annmarie Wednesdays. That was a wonderful show. I haven’t done kale chips before, but I’m going to try that soon. Do you think it would work with collards?
Kevin definitely should take a real vacation with you, and it should really be longer than a week if you can manage it. Maybe you could go someplace warm with a favorable exchange rate.
Thumbs up Ann Marie! Love to see more of you alone and let your light shine on its own.
No offense Kevin, love you too, just balance 🙂
Sounds heathier than the kale chips I broil in the oven with olive oil and tamari sauce.
Only problem is I just have a cheap stackable dehydrator with one round plastic sheet to put one of the shelves and one temp setting. I could try a small amount out.
Thanks Ann Marie
Carol from Ont ,Can
Love you without Kevin 🙂
“More mellow” is a good way to describe it. I usually have to keep the volume on mute until he’s done yelling.
Keep up the good work Annmarie!
I agree to a job well done. I have two huge kale plants in the garden and I am always looking for things other than salad to do with them. You are soooo cute.
Yes, you both need a vacation just to go and enjoy life and each other without any outside pressures.
Thanks for the recipe…..
Annmarie, you made an incredible show all by yourself! Although I must admit Kevin and you make a great show together, there’s that spark between you that gives it the extra dimension.
Am I wrong or did you give your own version of this recipe? I didn’t see you using half the ingredients written out in the recipe.
Love to you and Kev
AnnMarie – you should be proud of yourself!
In Kevin’s own words that was Awesome!
Yes, there was an empty space to right of camera today but you were organised, clear, smiling and beautiful as always and totally made the space your own. You absolutely filled it.
And your camera work and editing skills did not go unnoticed – amazing job.
Will you be able to get Kevin rest for a week?
I hope so because you both totally deserve it.
Of course we will miss you but we all have to manage on our own sometimes and have given us the inspiration today to go forward in bucket loads!
Well done!
You are both truly amazing.
Thank you for your insights, encouragement, energy and endless enthusiasm.
Have a good break.
May you have time to relax and celebrate the joy you give to each other.
(and of course to us)
AnnMarie:
You were great!!! Totally different flavor without Kevin, not that is bad but good. Would like to have you have a special day each week alone.
I think you both deserve a nice uninterrupted week without any electronics.
Great show, cant wait to try the chips.
Elaina
what are these things called “vacations” that I hear everyone talking about? they sound nice.
AnneMarie, you were superb…kept me smiling the whole time! Very smooth, professional job.
Grab the reins, the Wednesday episode should be exclusively yours. Give Kevin a break, and let your star power shine!
Impressed with you both!
You did great Anne Marie!!! You both could use a vacation I’m sure. Can’t wait to try to kale chips. I miss the “dry” crunchy things to eat.
You’re great AnnMarie and yes I think Kevin and you need a vacation with no computers, phones, no work related! We all need that every so often.
kevin makes this old lady jump out of her skin with his exuberant greeting but i must admit my 10years old grandson splits his sides laughing and plays him over and over.i think i like the mellow though. you did great annmarie.love from scotlandxxx
Annmarie, thanks so much for doing Wednesday recipe day by yourself – you’re the real chef anyway. Kevin is so hyper, I don’t know if he can wind down even on vacation. His enthusiasm is infectious, though, and I love it.
Great job Annmarie! I know I’m in need of a vacation and I’m sure Kevin is deserving of one and probably needs one too!
Hey you guys, all the way from the Isle of Man in the UK to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the great shows.
I watch them while I enjoy my green smoothies to get a double dose of the good stuff.
Annmarie what a lovely girl you are, and well done on the solo show…start getting worried Kevin 🙂
Have fun guys
Bill x
LOL @ Dhrumil! Girl power! That’s what I’m talking about! Hehe GOOD JOB!!! I’m so proud of you Annmarie!
I love Kale chips too! Except I usually only use some olive oil and sea salt. I will definitely have to try your “cheese” recipe. Oh and I don’t have dehydrator so I use the oven on a very low temp. and they turn out just as light and crunchy. Nom nom, now I’m craving them. 🙂
Great show Annmarie!
You both deserve a vacation, no doubt. Thank you for all the heart and soul that you put into your shows.
You did a great job Annmarie! Although I did miss Kevin, I felt like I was standing in the kitchen with you just hanging out, making a snack. I will try the chips cuz I miss the crunchy, cracker-like taste and feel. Go on a va-ca!!
You were wonderful on your own – very brave of you. I must say though, together you are amazing! I am the quiet one in my marriage too and it is a good balance. I love that little smirk you get when Kevin does his intro. And I laugh everytime he does. It really fires us up! So, as for your question, I think that Kevin AND Annmarie need a vacation. Somewhere warm and tropical. Soak up that Vitamin D. Thanks for the great recipe, I will be trying it.
Awesome show! Thanks for the recipe. Hugs
Oh, your name is “Annmarie”! Some one should tell Kevin, cause on all the shows he keeps saying “Emery”. 🙂
All joking aside. Yes, take a computerless vacation!!!
p.s. You did a great job with the show Annmarie. I love the reciepes you share. Thank you!
Wow! What a show! You did great Annmarie! I had the volume way down, and all I saw was your head peep out! I thought, “whats going on” sure enough, it was only you!:-) I can’t wait till I try the chips!
And you Both, need a vacation! I love you guy’s and your show! Thank you for all you do!
First I read all the comments cause I was busy yesterday and then I watched the show.
Where did you learn how to do all that Annmarie?(without any practice).
Amazing. Refreshingly delightful.
Ooh thanks for the mention!! I’ve been collecting kale chip recipes ’cause I really love kale. Last potluck I put kale in a salad shooter and shredded it, poured that tahini dressing mixture over them and let it marinate for 8 hours. I served it up as a kale salad and got lots of raving complements on it. I discovered people were also using it as a spread on their flax crackers. I’ll use that again as a veggie dip at my next party.
You did great by yourself!
I think you and Kevin need to come skiing with us this winter in Somerset, PA. That would be a fun vacation.
Well Done! It was a nice twist to see and hear from you alone but Kevin’s interactions are great also! Yes, you both need a vacation, you work very hard to bring all this great health information to all of us and I can only guess at how much work we don’t see that goes on behind the scene.
be blessed.
Seems like Kevin loves what he does, and probably gets more than he gives in doing the show, but still a vacation sounds lovely. I doubt he’ll rest but he loves to be active right? Have fun!!
PS I always turn him down a little at the begining too!
I love kale chips, and learned about them here on your blog I think. The recipe was just an ingredient list (raw marinara with some tahini and nut. yeast) but since; we’ve made them many times and we all love them. They’re like doritos! kinda’, Thank You!
Great job on the show Annmarie!
AweSOME, Annemarie. It was great to see your personality come through. You are a stronger lady than I had thought. As for the recipe, now I HAVE to get me some tahini and try it! I’ve been threatening to get some tahini…now must be the time!
Wowie…..Look at all the comments you got girl! Loved the segment; Wednesdays should forever be “In the Kitchen with Annmarie”. Miss you…we’ll see you next week. xo L & V
How long in the dehydrator??
Also, son-in-law on a very low salt diet because of cardio myopthmy he has had since birth. How would you do this without the salt content, possible?? My daughter is afraid to do anything other than mainstream cardiac recommendations for him!! but open to good whole food nutrition and green smoothies………. Thank you
p.s. I think you are brave to start out with 1 full week vacation together, no phones, computer etc…. I highly suggest starting 2 or 3 days at first, then progressing out to a full week. He will most likely DETOX from not having to be so busy……. blessings to you both
Great show, Annmarie!! You are so sweet and I’m sure Kevin loved those kale chips! Rawbin is amazing at coming up with delicious kale recipes!
Lots of love to you!
Wendi
XOXOXO
Dear AnnMarie,
You are very sweet and cheerful = 2 unusual qualities on Planet Earth. Thanks for being who you are!
(A note for you only – Your hair was very distracting in the middle of your face. I know it is the fashion, but it is not the best hygiene to have your hands in your hair and then the food. Maybe you could pin back for food preparation shows!)
XO
I love you girlfren, Awesome show, the chips look Wonderful. Yes I agree you BOTH deserve a weekend.
Hugs, love & Blessings,
Geri
How long in the dehydrator please? Also, my son-in-law is on a very low salt diet because of his cardio myopatphy (spelling ?) he has had his entire life. How would you do this receipe and other receipes without the salty ingredients? He has a max of 2000 mg of salt allowed each day no matter where the salt content comes from. They are afraid of going outside the box with some of these good natural whole food receipes because of his condition ?? and at the same time will do green smoothies, vegetables etc…. Any suggestions here please??
p.s. I think yur show was wonderful today and very much appreciated by this newbie. VERY MUCH !! I think you are a brave soul for taking 1 week to start the vacation with Kevin. He will most likely be detoxing during the first few days without any of the gadgets and busyness around to intertain he and his mind, but once he does I have NO DOUBT he will love it and love you even more for showing him how to do this.
I loved seeing you do a segment yourself, you did well…hope to see more with you by yourself…and “YES” Kevin, take a vacation and bring Annmarie with you…go somewhere you can be pampered..we all need that from time to time.
Joey 🙂
AnnMarie ~~~Great job you are very capabale of putting that camera to work!!!
It was nice to meet you at the bwe~3. I was a little disapointed in meeting Kevin ~~~he wasn’t the man I see on camera (vibant, excited about his audiance, charming) However I will give him a break~~~you were in a car accident & I’m sure that was very stressful~~~So I’m all for the Two you going on a long vacation!!!
Great Show!!! It may be your 1st but my guess is it won’t be your last show alone ’cause you were fantastic! I always love the way you guys interact but now we all know you both can hold your own in front of the camera.
You both deserve a relaxing vacation!
This is a great thing, these kale chips. I don’t have a dehydrator and I was shopping for one. I saw that yours was teflex with teflon on it. I would rather avoid this, however I don’t want plastic either. I may have to settle for baking.
Thank you so much for the great idea!
Fabulous show AnnMarie !!
YES on the vacation
Love the Renegade Health Show 🙂
“Baked” up the chips yesterday! I also experimented with other greens–as my garden is currently prolific in greens (Texas)…chard, broccoli leaves, arugala, bok choy, even cabbage…and, of course, kale. Definitely stick with the kale. Good warm out of the oven. More cheezy flavored next day but not as crisp (I’ll take crisp over cheezy). Lots of left over dressing. I tossed the leftover dressing in a bountiful salad that evening–equally good!
You were great! Even if we like having you both, I think you missed Kevin more than we did (cause you were talking so nice about him, maybe you don’t notice these things anymore). You spread so much love!
You both should go on a vacation, absolutely, for as long as you want. I mean it’s not fair that we, the viewers, can go away anytime we want; for you this blog should not become a difficult chore. We’ll be here even if you disappear for a year!
I agree with Dhru… Kevin can retire. haha! Awesome show, Annmarie! Much love.
More Annmarie!!! We love Kevin too.
Can’t wait to try the Kale chips on my sweetie.
Yes, Kevin needs a vacation, for sure. A raw foodist should never, ever be BURNED OUT! You should take a 116 degree turn instead and head in that direction.
Happy Turkey Day and they are happy when they are around vegan Raw fooders. Love seeing so many of them in the woods here in New England.
Oh Annmarie!!!! that was just lovely and I am going to try them tomorrow.
Kevin take a holiday a longer one than a week. One week is only just getting into it. You will come back fresher and with more ideas. You need to set an example “All work and no play” Hm! cant imagine you dull but work on the play bit we need you to keep fresh and if that means taking time out. Go for it. I just had some NLP this morning – have you ever had NLP amazing what came out.
ms. annmarie gianni:
i will FOREVER be grateful to you for bringing the raw kale chips recipe to me.
really.
i am SO SO SO SO SO stoked about the raw kale chips.
i made them.
and LOVED them.
i’ve been craving something like that and have been searching and searching for a recipe like them on the internet.
thanx a million.
my husband (who’s not raw) loved them, too.
keep up the yummy video recipes!
you did great on your video.
you’re a natural!
thanx,
gourmet auteur
I loved the recipe for the kale chips, I can really use something like that as an appetizer at night , because I am up late studying and that would be a better alternative to the salty chips that I eat so often at night .
I forgot to say Thank You in the last message and tell, you that I will be tuning in regularly, take care
Great Show! Will definitely try them this week. Just need a few more of the ingredients.
Take the vacation. We will miss you! Someone once told me that everytime you take
a vacation, “you change” (for the good, of course).
I have been looking for the recipe for Kale Chips. I am new to all of this and I am not sure where I am to find the different recipe that sounds very good and there are several more and I just wanted to find out where to find them so I don’t have to copy the whole page to get the recipe. Thank you allfor your help.
thanks so much!
Hi AnnMarie (and Kevin)
I discovered your website 2 months ago following a talk at our local veggie club about raw foods. It caught my imagination and I have been researching the internet since.
Raw kale chips are a wonderful alternative to potato chips. PLUS, they brought my stomach back in balance after a weekend trip involving restaurants. Kale chips, better than nexium.
Thanks for your wonderful show. I start my mornings out with renegade health show. It is so much more uplifting than the news.
Susan
Can’t wait to try these! And where did you get that apron?! Love it!
After looking high and low for a Kale chip recipe that tasted similar to the ones I bought at the health food store for a gazillion dollars, I tired AnnMarie’s recipe. I had just gotten my new Excaliber and tried this recipe. They were FANTASTIC!!!!! I coveted each and every morsal of goodness. I’m gonna make another batch tonight!
Thanks AnnMarie for this wonderful recipe!
Keep em coming!!!!!
Yum! I’m going to try this tomorrow morning. I’ll pick extra kale when I go out to the garden to get the greens for my green smoothie. They’ll be ready to snack on in the afternoon 🙂 Thanks AnnMarie!
Hi! I just watched your show on these kale chips because I’m looking for a recipe to make them myself in lieu of buying them. Great job!
I would like to comment on something that bothered me though. It seems like you are in your own kitchen, which is different from cooking for others, but playing with your hair before and while working with food, is very unsanitary and really creates an unappetizing feeling.
Thanks for listening.
Regards,
Leslie
Best Kale Chips ever; very cheezy! Thank you!
this is the third time I’m making this recipe. that’s how much I like it. …uh…actually…I’m addicted to them!
yaaay!! I found the recipe I was looking for!
Thank you, Annmarie and Kevin! Yes, I love your apron, too!!
I don’t have a dehydrator…do you know how I could do it in the oven? Thanks!
