Annmarie Makes Kevin Relax with a Chilled Out Yoga Routine – The Renegade Health Show Episode #164

I have to admit…

I’m not really a fan of yoga. I guess it’s because I’m a high energy type of guy.

So Annmarie proposed to me that I should do a quick relaxing yoga routine for the show today… considering the amount of time and energy I’ve spent this week working to get everything together for the David Wolfe broadcasts and the upcoming Rawkathon!

Take a look, this show was fun to watch (and please excuse my dry sense of humor…) ;-)

Your question of the day: What is your favorite yoga pose?

Click here, scroll down to the bottom of the page and leave your comment now!

See you on “virtually” at the Rawkathon this weekend (starts Sunday!)!

Live Awesome!
Kevin

KEVIN GIANNI!!!!!! “if I wanna connect with the earth, I’ll eat dirt??!!!??”…you, sir, just crack me up.

Well – - I love yoga :-) – and Annmarie knows – my favorite pose is upward dog – its my reward after every single workout (although, the corpse pose doesn’t look too bad either ;-) )

Great presentation last night of David Wolfe – a big thanks to both of you for all your hard work this week….and every week :-) …hugs, Dede

PS – loved the spiraling corn metaphor last night!!

You two are just so perfect together! Whenever you’re on the videos together, I’m always smiling or laughing. Wednesday’s shows are my favorite, not because of the recipes but because I love seeing the two of you together! :-)

Kevin, you were making me crack up while watching this video. Not only were you not relaxing, you kept playing with the grass the whole time! LOL Since you couldn’t be moving your body all around, your fingers were in almost constant motion with the grass. LOL

I hope you’ll really take some time to relax a bit–you’ve been doing so much lately! Annmarie is so sweet to help you try relaxing for a bit!

    Favorite pose: Savasana (corpse)
    Most difficult pose: Astavakrasana

Lots of love to you both,

    Wendi
    XOXOXO

p.s. Jim has made a decision to embrace my desire to spread the word about raw foods, so he has been helping me with all kinds of raw community projects that I’ve been working on. That means we’ll be moving forward with things at an even faster pace! He has also created a series of videos that we’ll be sharing starting Monday (this is his idea/project). He has taken your advice about the flip camera–thanks. ;-)

The whole routine looked perfect to me, Annemarie. I don’t know what is good to help the guys relax. I think maybe they need somebody to pound on them. Thanks Kevin for being a good sport for us ladies.

I really like downward facing dog and child’s pose alternately, but don’t know all that much about yoga yet. Just learning.
You guys did great, lol. I have no doubt that had I tried to get my husband to do a video on yoga, it would have turned out very similar. :D

As a yoga therapist for me every pose is
unique and great in its own place so choosing
favourite pose becomes a bit difficult,
nevertheless, sheerly from the point of
maximum benefit to the body i would choose
SARVANGASANA (also called in western countries
as Shoulderstand/Candle pose) because as the
sanskrit name implies Sarva means All and
Anga means Limbs therefore all limbs of the
body are exercised if you do this pose/asana
and besides it is within the reach of
    everyone unlike Shirsasana (topsy-turvy pose)
which is not within the reach of maximum
number of people. Lastly love you videos.
    Keep up the good work.

I like that one where you sit and rock backward, holding your knees. It massages your spine and makes your back feel great. I don’t remember what it’s called though. Annmarie, yoga is such a valuable tool, thank you for sharing some of your coaching expertise with us.

This was a great show! I have so much fun with the two of you. I would like to learn yoga and I never knew where to start. These positions were so easy to learn as Annmarie was explaining what I should feel and think about with each breath. You can’t get that out of a yoga book, or at least you can’t read them and try the pose at the same time. So, I’m looking forward for some more yoga shows, in this format, Kevin doing the poses :D and Annmarie explaining. It was great! Your relationship is so inspiring for all of us. You spread love around.

That was so funny. You amused my partner too Kevin! :-)
My favourite yoga pose is upward dog. Not that I know that many yoga poses but I learned that one from the tibetan rites. Hopefully I’ll learn more soon.

I think Kevin needs to try some Vinyasa Yoga or what’s called Power Yoga to get more of a workout. If you do it right you will feel it and you will sweat. The thing about Yoga is there are many styles and also variations on the different poses to make them more difficult or easier depending on your preference and what you want to get out of it. The side plank and the dancer pose are a couple I like, but there are many.

My favorite yoga ‘pose’ is a series of poses as outlined in the book entitled “Ancient Secret of the Fountain of Youth” Book 1 or Book 2. Book 2 is a better overall resource. OR you can just google ‘5 tibetan rites’.

These rites juice up and balance your energy centers (chakras) with significant health benefits. I have been doing them every morning for about 3 months consistently with great results.
    Enjoy,
    David

PS. And Kevin, these are active movement poses for your type ‘A’-ness.

Hello Kevin & Ann Marie, I never comment because I feel you’re probably overwhelmed with emails. I love your shows, it is what keeps me ‘connected’ – appreciate it immensely. I have a request – I would like to purchase a cd of the David Wolfe event unedited exactly as you have it on your website – is this do-able? Thank You, Virginia

The rawkaton: Mike Adams says great things and much stronger than ever against all the pharma industry. I’m amazed at what he says and hope he will not get in trouble for saying it loud. I couldn’t suspect that FDA is as bad as they are. Indeed in Europe we don’t have that bad of an organisation but in France we still have mandatory vaccines (DTP) and we are the biggest antidepressors drugs addicts!!!

G.Cousens interview is not as good quality and subject is not as energising (even though energy is one of the topic!!!), but I’m sure he would have loved AnnaMarisa’s yoga session. :-)

I agree with John. Try an ashtanga class, Kevin. And then tell us yoga isn’t a work out!

My favorite pose is trikoasana or perhaps, supta bada konasana, or maybe it’s whatever pose I’m in.

YOga is the fountain of youth. My 50 year old body has regained the flexibility, strength, and tone of my 20’s after a dedicated daily pracice of just a few years. Yoga also teaches us to listen to the needs of our body -which in turns helps us to eat foods that nourish rather than deplete us.

    Hi Kevin and Annmarie!

“if I wanted to connect to the earth, I’d eat dirt” – lol, you guys are perfect together!

My favorite, rawkin yoga pose is half spinal twisting pose – but I know that downward facing dog is probably the one that guys like you and I should be doing the most. I have found in my own prasara yoga practice, that the best yoga pose is usually one of the least enjoyable.

I can definitely relate to yoga feeling more like work than relaxation sometimes, but yoga can be whatever you want it to be. Some days we need hard exercise, other days we need softer exercise and yoga can be pursued for either goal. I don’t think there is such a thing as the “best” yoga, only “your” yoga is best.

Loving the videos guys, and thanks for all your hard work this week on the rawkathon.

    Be well.

This comment is for Kevin G

Love all your info especially in food prep and exercise. Can I help to direct you to a different paradigm?

Don’t look to correct candida overgrowth, look to eliminating the infection that generates it. In your case–left arm immunization reflecting down the arm to ring finger affecting left bladder, heart, cell energy, deep sleep points, spleen, small intestine, thymus, gallbladder. Your upper right teeth and upper left teeth affecting your parathyroid and deep sleep points. Look to hyssop for immunizations, a gallbladder rejuvenitive and gall bladder cleanses,a super green tea for parathyroid. Clear metal and infection in teeth. Clear immunization scar and path for starters….

I’m a yoga teacher & longtime practioner and I agree with the others who suggested that you try Ashtanga yoga. It’s the only style of yoga where I see as many men as women practicing (and somtimes I’m the only woman in a room full of men). It’s incredibly challenging and humbling and not for the faint of heart!
