In this episode, I’ll also talk about breastfeeding and cleansing, how to keep vegetables fresh and how to move into an 80-10-10 diet if you’re concerned about candida.

Should be fun!

With all the free great content you provide and your reputation, you can pretty much promote anything health-related that you TRULY believe in.
I don’t mind Elements for Life promo at all. It’s all good raw stuff. It’s not like you’re promoting crack. LOL.

Kevin.. for the female issues… you might want to contact Lorna Vanderhaeghe… she has a website… http://healthyimmunity.com/

She would be an interesting speaker for your Wednesday shows.

    Just a suggestion.

    Hey Kevin,
For some reason I can’t watch this video, it only plays to the part of the personal trainer, then it goes right to the end… :( Am I doing something wrong?

Kevin, I thought the interview with David Wolfe last night was great. It was great to hear my two favorite health educators at the same time. I was prepared for the Elements for Life stuff so it didn’t bother me, and I actually thought that it was less of “promo” than I was expecting. At the end of the day it was great superfood info.

The old lady from the Rawkathon preview was great too. She just kept going and going with these great stories.

I just ordered the 80-10-10 book last night, can’t wait to read it.

I think any promotion is acceptable as long as you know what’s going on beforehand. As long as you’re transparent, then its all good. Keep doing what you’re doing. I appreciate you.

You generously provide quantity and quality of free information. Any reasonable person would realize that you need to make a living in order to continue doing this. The complainers earn, beg, steal, or borrow to survive. So why should they complain about you trying to earn a living? Do they think you live on air alone?

I think it is a free world and if you think something is good and you want to get that word out that is great, if someone doesn’t like it they can just not listen to the promotion.

I really enjoyed the call and got some great info from it. You mentioned Elements For Life in the promo for the call so if someone wasn’t interested they could just skip it right? Sounds like the complainers forgot they could just hang up or log off anytime. ;)

Anyone who has followed you guys for awhile should realize that anything you promote is worth our time to consider.

I don’t mind if you promote a product because I have been watching your show for long enough that I have complete faith in your integrity. I don’t think for a second you would promote anything that you didn’t believe might be helpful to us. We’re big boys and girls – we can evaluate the information you share with us. I am very appreciative of your show and the fact that you do it, day in and day out, whether you are in the mood or not. I think you guys are terrific, very sincere, honest, upbeat and fun! Your positive, optimistic outlook is refreshing and cheers us all on. Thank you for being creative and brave enough to do what you do. Diane

I’m rather surprised that anyone would complain about it. What’s wrong with earning a living selling products that help contribute to a long and healthy life and giving your customer a means to buy at wholesale and earn money? There’s pretty much no reason at all someone couldn’t get their products for free and in the process see to it that a few others are healthy on the same products. They do the same and so on and so on. TOTALLY AWESOME!!!

Ignore them. They don’t understand business.

I totally agree with Lilla. You provide a great service but also have to pay some bills, so if it’s something you believe in why not promote it – others might benefit also. I thought there was some great info. on the call. I wouldn’t tune in every night for MLM type information but I know my computer is just like a T.V….if I’m not enjoying what I’m watching, I just watch something different, or even turn it off and read :-) Keep up the great work!

Thank you for all of the content you provide, a majority of which is free. I didn’t mind the elements for life promotion either, in fact I’m very interested in it myself. Not until I knew you endorsed it did I begin to consider joining. I highly consider and value your opinion and like Mike Adams, I know that you speak of truth. :-) With all the good you do promoting natural living, I felt it quite all right to promote something every so often that you use and believe in. You’ve got to make a living too, how else could you continue to help others?

  12. Ray Rosales
    12:25 am on October 10th, 2008

There’s probably some type of arrangement with you and Mike Adams, but I would reconsider aligning myself with him. He is not complete in his analysis and does not take kindly to criticism or does not respond to questions as to his source of information, nor does he follow up. The impression the public is developing is that Mike and perhaps by your association, maybe you as well, are simply being paid to endorse these products and that if someone recommends something, or criticizes, it will not be mentioned because this would cost the relationship with the companies that are endorsed. Then what we have is just another commercial and not a community. There is no conversation.

  13. A'amina
    12:40 am on October 10th, 2008

I would probably have no interest in anything commercial you might promote… that said, I really appreciate and enjoy all the free stuff you have available… I have the choice whether to listen to or watch any specific program, so if I’m not enjoying one of your presentations, I just exit and continue to check daily for something I do enjoy.

Be whatever feels right to you… you make a huge positive contribution to mass consiousness and you should continue to express yourself as seems best to you.

I only had to hear the words “multi level marketing” and that was enough for me to turn the whole interview off. It’s not the products that are objectionable, it’s that so many MLMs are scams and pyramid schemes. I certainly believe you can sell whatever you want to, and I’ve certainly got more than my money’s worth out of your blog. MLMs are just a huge turn off.

  15. Elizabeth
    1:21 am on October 10th, 2008

I am of the opposite opinion — I normally don’t listen to teleseminars, but it’s usually a pleasure to have health questions answered by David.

Honestly, I was interested at the beginning, and then it evolved into an infomercial on an MLM company. Elements for Life is not bad, but it’s not great either. There are much better products out there. And “fractal marketing”? Come on — a fancy name for MLM.

I just didn’t like the underhandedness of it. It was supposed to be an education talk with David, as far as I was aware, not some guy telling me that “it’s only $59 to join!” A big disappointment, and it makes me lose respect for those involved. I appreciate what you do, Kevin, as well as David, but this kind of thing is likely to lower the respect factor in people’s minds.

    3:52 am on October 10th, 2008

I have just listened to David Wolfe’s call and was most impressed with the information provided, and I think it was very appropriate to promote Elements for Life as a key part of the program was about how to distribute the products we have all become interested in, and for those who wish to start a business. Thanks so much for this call.

    5:57 am on October 10th, 2008

Thank you for the David Wolfe interview, I quite enjoyed it and learned a lot from it, I don’t mind that the info he is giving about superfoods is describing benefits of components of products from a company he represents, it’s all interesting and good info It is so true that you can’t please everyone and there will always be some criticism, so, I think that maybe the most acceptable type of promotion would be – - the one that you know is coming ! That way those not interested in that particular promotion can choose in advance not to listen in. The rest of us can still enjoy and benefit and be grateful to Kevin and Ann Marie who arrange these interviews for us. Many thanks for all your efforts, your shows are greatly appreciated. Glad you chose #1

I agree with Lilla, I think it’s fine to promote anything that you truly believe in. I have a problem with people who promote a whole bunch of junk that they don’t personally believe in and they know you don’t really need, but they promote it like you MUST have it just to get rich off of consumer’s naivete.
I don’t believe you are one of those people Kevin. I base that conclusion on the behaviour I’ve observed from you so far, and the fact that you also talk about and promote loads of people and products and ideas that you don’t benefit from financially. AND you give away tonnes of info that you COULD benefit financially if you chose to.
Promotion with integrity is fine with me :-)
    Apologies for the rant.

You provide quality and quantity of free information. Any reasonable person realizes that you must earn a living some how in order to continue to do this. I agree with all the positive things I’ve read above, I could not find the better words to say it. I don’t mind the stuff, and I even apreciate your oppinions.

Funny thing is that I did not even realize this (the MLM business) when I was listening. I’m from Europe and I don’t know what Elements for Life is. I only got the info about noni, goji berries and other super-foods. And that was great stuff. David Wolfe has so many things to share. Don’t tell me we should ignore all that because of the business.

Keep up with the good work. Love you, plus Annmarie and Mike Adams :P

I agree with a post above – promotions are fine as long as you INFORM your viewers/listeners that is what you are doing. TELL them you are promoting a Multi Level Marketing Company & products. Then no one is caught by surprise and you do not look sneeky. As above, “be transparent…Keep doing what you’re doing. I appreciate you.”

    Hey Kevin,
As long as you are promoting health and well being go for it! I didn’t mind it one bit and I do use some of those products and if someone doesn’t like it, they can always log off. I loved the Patricia Bragg interview, I have read two of the Bragg books and the ACV has many great uses & is a good product also. Anyone cry about her promos?? You have a great show and do a wonderful job as always and believe me you are so appreciated.
To your critics I say, get over it already!

I think that as long as a product is being promoted with integrity it’s cool. We all need to be able to make money – that’s not a crime. I do agree with an above post that it needs to be clear that you are promoting a product or business model. I would only have a problem if a product was promoted that was not of high quality or the company behaved badly, or you do not personally believe in it. Otherwise – if there’s a product or company out there that can help others, yah – tell them about it! Thank you for your show and all that you do to help others.

    Kevin,

No apologies necessary for your promotion. You and David shared some great info that will be beneficial to anyone, whether they are interested in the business aspect or not. Honestly, I cannot believe that anyone complained, though it seems as if some people live to focus on what they see to be the negatives rather than the positives available. I would venture to guess that the same people that complained did not bother to thank you for all of the free information that you have shared. You run a BUSINESS, and are free to run it as you like. Keep it up! Thank you for everything.

    Kevin,
As long as you’re clear and honest, do your promotions when you’d like. I think you do a good job of this most of the time. When you first launched Elements of Life, it felt a bit under handed, but now that I know it’s a MLM company, I can tune in or out as I please. It’s hard to make a living in the service industries without providing some kind of commodity too -so I understand your desire, need, and right to supplement your income.

What a treat it was to hear Patricia Bragg! Her stories made me even more grateful for the service you provide. I remember the effort it took in the 70’s to ferret out accurate and credible alternative health information. Now we have so much available at the touch of our fingertips.

Great interview, David has been promoting EFL for a while now, among many other companies/products. David Wolfe has always given publicity to products he believes are “the best ever” or have a lot of integrity and efficacy. I think being given some pointers on products by someone who has truly tried them all and knows his stuff is a gift. People freak out, fear consciousness, whatever. Peace :-D

I don’t think there is anything wrong with promoting Elements for Life especially since it is superfoods that make us all healthier people, and besides David Wolfe is always so interesting to listen to, which reminds me to make a comment that has been bothering me for some time now. A number of episodes back a person(I won’t mention names)had made some attacks at David Wolfe in her comments. It was very disheartening to read. I think if she feels that way that’s her perogative but I think the majority of us really admire David Wolfe and want to learn more from him. Someone who is new to Raw Foods and the Renegade Show might read what this person wrote and come up with a bad feeling for David Wolfe and maybe even superfoods. I don’t think this a message you want to portray to your readers. Maybe the comments could be looked over a little more before posting.

I love your show and all the things you provide. Thank you Kevin and Ann Marie!

Why is David Wolfe promoting Elements for Life? Don’t the products they sell compete with David’s via his website? I was not turned off by the mentioning of Elements for Life, but rather the fact that David Wolfe is promoting it. Seems odd to me.

  35. Alex Newell

I used to run my own nature Cure clinic and of course sell stuff to my clients.

But many people in the natural health world are suspicious about business and will suspect your motives. To enjoy all your free resources without realising that they all have to be paid for seems odd really!

All the same many people have particular problems with MLM, to them it is not simply a way of distributing a product but means “scam”.

Fact is Kevin you can’t please everybody and you just have to move forward with what seems to be positive.

I like how Google does promotions. It’s subtle. Off to the side. I can click on it and find out more if I want. Whenever a product is put in my face I find it annoying. Even if it’s a great product. It’s one of the reason turn to the Internet and DVD’s and turned off the TV. It gives me more control over what I want to put into my brain. Still I get spam and ads on the internet that I’d rather not have sift through. It’s great to know what’s out there but I like to have control ofover the noise, visually as well as auditory. Keeping it subtle is what I’d prefer.

We are always suspicious of anyone whose income and livelihood is depended on what they are saying or promoting, even if the intention is good. It’s a hard to walk the line and it’s up to each one of us to figure out, “Would this guy or gale be doing this or saying this if they weren’t being paid for it?” If the answer is yes, I figure I’m pretty close to being on the right track. But keep you eye on the track. Sometimes the track shifts further down. Circumstances change. If my gut is clear and has a good amount of healthy probiotics it’ll guide me along the right path.

Keep up the great work you doing.

Hi gang.. Kevin I enjoy most of your good efforts, but am having trouble to some extent with your associations..

Watching Rawkathon last nite it was interesting having David Wolfe first and Doug Graham next. To me David is way too much hype re the superfood thing, and now his Ormus stuff..

Davids book Sunfood Diet Success System promotes a diet that just doesn’t work for most people and has no backing from those that know about getting healthy from what you eat.

Doug Graham was wonderful, a mellow spirit interested in HEALTH and how to achieve it.. Grahams 811 works, has a scientific basis, and doesn’t entail buying and consuming a bunch of manufactured products that MAYBE do some good, but in truth its very questionable re how much ‘belief that it will do good’ has to do with it.

Dougs quiet way of stating his case is a whole lot more convincing to many people -myself included- than Davids hyped up presentation re alchemy & questionable in some cases ’superfoods’..
In truth he looks like he has been getting down on too much cacao..

It was also interesting what Doug said about many people getting on the raw food thing- but not sticking with it. (Have read this elsewhere ) Think that is worth a thought.. I know many folks that find that green smoothies really work -F&V (fruits & vegies) and many of us are finding that 811 & green drinks are a good way to go.

To many of us Tolles New Earth & 811 go together nicely. Do we really need ego-tripping super-heros & super-foods in our world today? ( I also objected to Davids put-down & dismissal of all the hard working organic farmers producing good food for us to enjoy -that seemed to be an ego trip that wouldn’t quit..)

As always ‘Time will tell the tale’…and my bet would be on Doug & lots of F&Vs – and will not be at all surprised to see David & his hype go the way of other ‘promoters’.. Tis just a bit sad that so many seeking health are being side-tracked with possible super-hero status while they could be doing themselves a big favor by pursuing
    plain & simple 811.

Have been following Mike Adams for some time also and have heard from others much the same as the above comment.. Mike is doing a great job in many areas but in truth he needs to clean up his act a bit also..

Your rawkathon is a wonderful effort..much appreciated. Would suggest that a forum where folks could dialog and learn from others would be a good edition if possible.

No one is saying that you should not sell whatever you can..you of course need to make a living..no problem there. But you -and Mike-
need to be upfront about what you ‘push’- and not afraid to take -and be open to – input from others..

We have been hyped too much over the last eight years.. and just like the Republicans the Raw Food thing will not succeed if its just going to be another money making thing..Doug is right on – this needs to be about Health -holistic health..not hyped up super anything..

When you asked AnnMarie about her favorite ’superfood’ she said greenpowder I think..She is both lovely and pragmatic..but can anyone tell me what any green powder has in it that cannot be obtained from Nature in a Raw state? Cron-0-Meter tells me I am getting in most cases more than twice what I need on a daily basis in all the vits/minerals etc on a 811 menu, so why do I need green powder? (and their levels are not based on organic- sometimes 4Xs
    more powerful that non-organic..)

Would love to see everyone on this planet living the good life..with holistic HEALTH of body, mind & spirit.. isn’t that the bottom line?

Suppose it’s getting near time to choose.. just plain HEALTH – or lots of SUPER-HYPE..with a dose of MLM thrown in..
