This is more of a system than a protocol…

There are many herbs and treatments for acne and allergic skin reactions, but there is a system that you can use no matter what treatment you choose that will still yield results.

I think highly of systematic self-diagnosis (or with a practitioner) because when you use one, you can step by step identify what is working and what is not. If you don’t use a system, you may end up not knowing what is causing the issue and this will leave you more stressed than you need to be.

This system is what I’ve been using recently for the strange breakout of acne on my forehead.

Take a look…

Your question of the day: What is your system for identifying and dealing with your body?

i don’t really have a system, but if something isn’t right i research it. then take the action that is necessary. i appreciate your help in finding a system, especially because i am also dealing with acne. i have notice with myself that if i take my b vit supplement and also a supplement called “the essential woman” by barlean’s, my skin clears right up. i think i’ll take your advise and do this system. thanks for all the knowledge!!!

Hey Kevin I have a system and you’re using it.

You’re right that a good naturopath or other practitioner would take you through a similar procedure.

As a naturopath I would suggest enemas to help clean the lymphatics plus other supportive methods.

But you explained a good simple and safe procedure.

    Hi Kevin and Annmarie,

I too suffer from mild acne and have most of my life, although I had it under control for awhile. I find that I am really sensitive to products used on my skin, even the most natural ones. I found one line of skin care that is all natural and organic that works for me but the moisturizer is quite pricey ($76) which I haven’t been able to purchase for awhile, but it is a well worth it system to get to end the acne cycle. Thanks for your info as well.

    Hi Kevin,
This is my system for dealing with acne.
First cleanse the skin with a mild cleanser to remove oil base debries, then cleanse again, this cleanses the skin. Next exfoliating is important,as this gets rid of dead cells. Then hydration is needed so the sebaceous glands do not become over active. You can also use a clay based mask before hydration, tone the skin and then a light water based moisturizer. Hope this helps.

I’m taking a similar, maybe more radical approach by using Dr. Mark Hyman’s UltraSimple Diet. Basically, it’s designed to remove all possible allergens for 3 weeks, then reintroduce each one individually in 3 day sequences. But when I’ve completed this self-education, I think I’d try your approach in the future for any new problems. Thanks for being willing to share your knowledge & methods!

    OMG
It’s so ironic how you’ve chosen this subject at this time.
Phillip McClusky came out with his juice feasting video summary yesterday and he mentioned acne after the juice feast. I also participated in the 92 day global juice feast and have experienced acne after the juice feast and it’s been prevelent since the feast on a all”raw” diet.
It’s been a month of acne and I’m frustrated and embarassed with the acne so I’ve decided to just juice. After the 2nd day of juicing the acne has begun to clear up and disappear. After it’s all gone I’ll start to “slowly” re-introduce foods back into my diet and closely watch any side effects. I’m going to try to pay particular attention to any sugars and fats/oils as I think this may be a factor. I’m also re-reading Conscious Eating aka the “Bible for Vegetarians,” By Gabriel Cousens and this time I’m paying particular attention to the food types to avoid for my Kapha Dosha body type – VERY helpful in remembering to avoid fats/oils and sweets for me.

    Hi Kevin,
Another possibility I’d think about at this time of year when I tend to eat more than the usual amount of local or home grown tomatoes and get out in the sun more. I sometimes have small outbreaks… I seem like it would take a whopping dose of krill to do this.

    Hi Kevin,
I use the same elimination and reintroduction process that you do, and think you’re on the right track thinking it is a food reaction. However, for others like Lauren, there are lots of variables to consider too. Like:
I wonder if you’re also using something on your hair to keep it managable, perhaps the product could be getting on your forehead. Have you changed anything else that comes into contact with your skin? Laundry soap, face cleaner, moisturizer…? Perhaps you could use a good liver cleanse, often acne is a sign of a liver in need of cleansing.

On another subject, I missed the last teleconfrence. Was it with Dr Hyman? And did he really say one could overcome any allergy in three weeks? If so, I’d be VERY interested in finding out the method- I’d even consider some of yesterday’s wierd practices to find relief! Not tapping into my skull though.

Thanx for hanging in there and keeping your ideas fresh, Ann Marie too,

My daughter has had rosacea acne for a very long time, and it is going into her eyes. She has little understanding or interest in nutrition and if there’s any help for it that I could catch her interest with, I sure would like to hear about it. (She’s had more than her share of stress I would say, if that has any bearing on it – also has arthritis quite badly, and has had a wrist replacement which was tremendously painful.

Good system Kevin. I’m going to see if I can use this for unexplained itching on areas of my legs that I’ve had for a while now.

I really appreciate your openness and honesty regarding your own health challenges. Pretending to be perfect would not serve any of us. This way we can all learn together. :-)

    Hi Kevin,

For some reason when I exercise my hormones or whatever biochemical reactions happens in my body makes me get acne continuously.

Every morning I drink an smoothie with supergreens and fruits so it is hard for me to know which green is causing it. So what I did, I searched on the basics of the bacteria and how to kill it, since I have a healthy diet and I don’t want to quit any food, I just focused on getting rid of it.

I was watching some Davide Wolfe’s videos, and to keep it short and sweet, he mentioned that bacteria and viruses are positively charged and can be killed by inducing the opposite charge into your body. So I followed his recommendations and bought the Terminator II Zapper, I have been using it for about 3 weeks and my acne is almost gone and I haven’t got any new eruptions.

I’ve also experienced some other interesting effects with the zapper, like more energy, and amazingly I can feel my body better absorbing the nutrients than the days when I don’t zapp.

Thank you Kevin for sharing your system and being honest with us about your health.
We certainly learn a lot from you. :)
I like your system formula. I don’t have a system per se but when I have something wrong going on with my body I look at what I have been eating in the last 2, 3 days or more and generally I can identify the problem. I know that sugar and overeating on cooked foods have always been a big culprit which give me pain and inflammation. Just going back on with my healthy diet and body is happy again.

    Hi Kevin,

As you probably have already gathered, my system for detecting allergens and foods I am sensitive too is the Biomeridian machine. It can give you an answer in seconds. It is based on frequencies, yours and the food you are testing.. and will tell you if a food, or even a supplement is compatible with your unique make-up.

My friend just bought an Avatar, the Canadian version of the Biomeridian and I have been going with her to the training sessions. It is an amazing tool and its unbelievable what it can do.

Before I started seeing a practitioner who uses the Biomeridian machine, I used to be able to tell what some of my allergies were from the way my bronchial tubes and throat would swell. For example, I would constantly be clearing my throat when I drank milk or ate milk products. I was also allergic to airborne things like cigarette smoke, aerosols, perfumes and hair spray and they would cause an asthmatic reaction. But those things were immediate and easy to tell.

I was also allergic to some of the chemicals in shampoo and soap and things like that.. and they would cause swelling in my feet and hands, enough to make it difficult to stand and walk, especially first thing in the morning. I discovered what those things were by cutting out all zenoestrogens when I was menopausal and slowly watched all my symptoms diappear.

    Hi Kevin,

As you have probably already gathered, my system for detecting allergens and foods I am sensitive too is the Biomeridian machine. It can give you an answer in seconds. It is based on frequencies, yours and the food you are testing.. and will tell you if a food, or even a supplement is compatible with your unique make-up. My friend just bought an Avatar, the Canadian version of the Biomeridian, and I have been joining her at the training sessions. It is an amazing tool and its unbelievable what it can do.

Before I started seeing a practitioner who uses the Biomeridian, I used to be able to tell what some of my allergies were from the way my bronchial tubes and throat would swell. For example, I would constantly be clearing my throat when I drank milk or ate milk products. It was quite debilitating. I was also allergic to airborne things like cigarette smoke, aerosols, perfumes and hair spray and they would cause an asthmatic reaction. But those things were immediate and easy to tell.

I was also allergic to some of the chemicals in shampoos and soap and other topical ointments.. and they would cause swelling in my hands and feet, enough to make it difficult to stand and walk, especially first thing in the morning. I discovered what those things were by accident, by cutting out xenoestrogens when I was menopausal and slowly watching all my symptoms diappear.

I’ve learned that the body is a miraculous system. Inflammation is my signal that my body doesn’t like what I am putting into it or onto it… usually in my throat or hands and feet. It’s important for each and every one of us to find our own individual signs and symptoms that something has gone awry. Everyone’s body reacts in its own unique way. So many people just accept that the signs and symptoms of allergies and sensitivities are a result of aging, etc… and they allow them to go too far. As a result, the body has no choice but to compensate and that is when major havoc breaks loose.

Kevin, I suspect if you just finished taking antibiotics 2 weeks ago, the acne on your forehead might be from an unfriendly bacterial overgrowth. You might want to up your probiotics for a little while and if you know anyone who has a Biomeridian or similar machine, you will be able to find out whether you have a bacterial infection right away. They might also be able to recommend a natural product that will help eliminate it. Keeping your pH just above 7 helps with skin reactions too.

    Hi Kevin,

The acne problem might not be a problem but a cleansing reaction from the antiobiotics. Are you taking a good probiotic? You need to take a probiotic to replace the good bacteria that got wiped out from the antiobiotics for about 6 months. Krill oil could be another factor-I just started taking krill oil and I woke up this morning and had one whitehead underneath both of my eyes! Weird.
