I read about Aicar and GW1516 this morning…
In fact after I read about it, one of Annmarie’s clients and RHTV viewer (Hey Linda!) sent Ann an email about it. I think Linda was hoping that we’d be able to prescribe it so Annmarie wouldn’t have to beat her up with exercise all the time…
In a nutshell, Aicar is a drug that stimulates muscles to fatigue without you actually having to do anything. That’s right, no working out, no running, no cardio, no nothin’. Quite possibly one of the scariest things I’ve seen in a while.
GW1516 is another that requires exercise but has shown massive endurance increase (over 70%).
But here’s the deal… this has only been shown to work for mice. So for at least the next 2-3 years, we’re going to have to rely on good old workouts like this lower abs 6-pack workout that we’re gonna show you now…
Take a look…

For real muscle building, I’d suggest Sunwarrior protein. I’ve been using this raw, vegan powder for the last 1.5 months and I’m impressed! Click here to learn more!

WOW! Look how good we are at wasting money. I wonder if some of those funds could have helped to put Gym and healthy food back in schools. I wonder if they can make a compassion pill that seems to be something we lack more than excercise.

Oh Abs! My nemisis! I used to use Kenneth Coopers’ point system to keep me motivated for cardio. I also have the book, Body For Life to remind me of various lifts I can do when my brain forgets. But I think your show is one of the best resources. Simple, routines anyone can do. Maybe you could have a section when you get enough of them on just exercise.

Way to go Annmarie.. you’re an inspiration to women everywhere. Of all the exercises there are, stomach exercises have been the ones I’ve managed to like and stick to all these years. Thank you for demonstrating.. I will definitely be doing these ones.

Those pills sound like they could be pretty dangerous. I personally wouldn’t want to take a drug that would mess with my physiology that much. Who knows what the consequences might be?!
Great ab exercises. I have tried some of those before but that ‘V’ one is evil! Haven’t been doing too much ab work lately as I had a back injury a few years ago. It’s more or less ok now but I’ve mainly been working on burning off the excess fat layers that accumulated!

Question: any alternatives to apple or malic acid for the liver cleanse? (I live in a part of Brazil where you can’t get them fresh nevermind organic)
Anything to the liver other than those herbs recommended by Andreas Moritz?
Thank you, Kevin

Kevin- I really enjoy your short routines. Have you ever thought about putting together a DVD with all of them. Thanks for your efforts and energy.

Similar drugs already exist in the locked case of the Vitamin Stores. I call them “Near-Steroids”. It is sad and unfortunate that our society is turning to drugs and surgery to attempt their fitness goals. The truth is getting in great shape really is not that hard it just takes a lifestyle overhaul and honest health information like what is available on this site. As a natural competitive bodybuilder I find that even the word “natural” has been cheapened and lost its meaning as many competitors use “near-steroid” chemical supplements at “natural” drug tested shows. From my book “The Organic Body”:
CHEMICAL SUPPLEMENTS= TEMPORARY GAINS+ DISEASE!
ORGANIC FOODS + NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS= PERMANENT GAINS + HEALTH

I don’t have a favorite DVD or book. I loved to work out with Denise Austen on Lifetime network every weekday morning at 7a.m. She did a little aerobics, a little Pilates, a little Yoga, and I felt like I got a good morning wakeup. Unfortunately, she is no longer on Lifetime.
So now I have found about 3 people on Fit TV network that I love to work out with and have actually taped them so I can work out when they aren’t on. All of these people appear on All Star Workout (I think it’s called.:) which has a different person/routine every day.

For cardio, I like some of the newer Leslie Sansone (Walk Away the Pounds) DVDs where she alternates between fast walking in place (and knee lifts, side steps and kicks) and intervals of jogging in place (she calls it “boosted walking.”) I like it because it’s simple and I can do it without worrying about tripping over my feet but still get a good cardio workout at varied levels of intensity.
On days when I’m feeling more coordinated (and have more endurance because the man really pushes), I go with Billy Blanks’ Tae Bo DVDs which really kick my rear, big time!
I want to second or third or wherever it’s gotten to that request for a DVD of your exercises, Kevin and Annemarie. As someone who is much better at following along than repeating on my own steam, I’d like to put my vote in for a real-time exercise routine DVD rather than an exercise demonstration DVD, but that’s just me — it’s much easier for me to keep up the pace and work my way through repetitive movements if I’m following a leader. You guys both have such a great sense of humor and so much energy that it would be a joy to workout along with a DVD of you two!

Favorite book is arnold’s encyclopedia of bodybuilding. Before i was raw i was big into bodybuilding and am sadly guilty of reading this thousand page+ guide to just about all you need to know to build a streamlined symmetrical physique that can perform as well.
My favorite DVD is Thomas Kurz Stretching Scientifically. This is a very inspiring dvd, and Thomas boasts having students that can do perfect side and/or front splits in 6 months of practice. I have been on the routine for 1 month and have already seen great improvement in flexibility.

Thank you, Annmarie! You look great! You should create a workout dvd. I think everybody would like to look like you.
As someone wrote before me, if I feel like I have the power, I love to workout with Billy Blanks. With those punches, I can get away from my bad feelings, too (stress, anger, depression).

Hey, Kevin! Really, I think you should let Annmarie do exercise Fridays! You can do the cooking on Wednesday! hahahahhaha
All the best

To Kristina above, who said what a way to waste money. Do you realize that this scientist was funded by the Howard Hughes Institute? At one time he was the richest man on earth, just before he funded his non-profit medical institute. So it’s not your money he/they are wasting. He made hundreds of millions off of oil companies, selling them drilling bits and more hundreds of millions off of the Air Force selling them planes and guidance systems. I think, considering where ELSE all that money could have went, THIS is a pretty darn good way to “waste it.”

What isn’t included in this little blurb is the context in which the drug was presented. In due time i’m almost positive that products containing GW1516 will be used by athletes and other people looking to increase their physical abilities. Until that point though, Aicar does have medical functionality.
