When I saw this news about big-time researchers misrepresenting their income from pharmaceutical companies, I knew I needed to tell you…
Seems like these guys have received millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical companies over the last 7 years and have reported very little of it to university officials (which could put the university and research credibility on the line, since most universities want to have UNBIASED studies!)
We all know, the researchers are getting paid, but when they go to great lengths to hide it, we have to start questioning their motives and their allegiance.
Take a look… (I also answer about 10 or so questions from the blog in today’s show… maybe I covered yours!)
Your question on the day: Haircut or no haircut? (I’ll tally ‘em up by the end of the week!)
Live Awesome!
Kevin
PS. I was recently informed of a new book that seems to be getting a bunch of attention this week… it’s called “The Essential Laws of Fearless Living” and it’s by Guy Findley. Kevin I have been doing the seasalt in the water for 7 years now and swear by it. I got the actual recipe for it from http://www.watercure2.org back in June of 2001. I myself use that recipe and drink anywhere from 80 to 200 ounces of water daily. I add 1/2 tsp of seasalt to each of my 20 oz bottles of water. (I work outside down here in Fla.)
for those who don’t drink water another way to get them started is to treat it as a med. start out with lets say 4 oz. every 2 hours. This will help get the body used to drinking water and will help ease the transition from not drinking any water at all. Don’t want to overload the body’s system by drinking a whole lot of water at once. I got this information from the book: “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water; You are not sick you are thirsty” By Dr. Batmanghelidj

Love those curls!
In response to the water problem…..I had problems drinking the required amt. until I started drinking “living water”. I make it myself with a water machine that is essentially distilled water and it is ozonated as well. I don’t know what the real secret is but when I give any person a drink of that water they want more! I know from my own experience…I just couldn’t get enough of that water when I first started on it. I actually have people asking me to make it for them. When I say I really don’t have time for that and “get your own machine” they start bribing me to make it for them. From this example, it seems to make a big difference on what kind of water we are drinking. It is a personal opinion of mine that the body can get saturated with all that lime in the water and maybe doesn’t want any more. BTW…I’M GOING ON VACATION TOMORROW so won’t be here to respond to any questions for 3 weeks.

Pro curls! I like the fast & furious Q&A, you answered questions I didn’t even know I had. As for the big bad & corrupt, that’s a negative thing and I really enjoy the fact that your format is on the positive side of life. So glad you’re doing these videos Kevin! Thank-you.

Like the format of rapid Q & A, one can always review/rewind the video if you think you missed something, and, I think a lot of people don’t have time to keep up with all the blog messages, so this way we get to hear some of the questions as well. Thank you!

I like the “wild man” look of a friend of mine who also has very curly hair. Let it grow!! You’ll never know if you like it if you don’t try it.
11:39 pm on June 10th, 2008
I say no haircut, but only because I like the curls. Too hot? Chop it off!!
I liked the rapid fire for answering questions, I’m sure if it’s a REALLY important one you’d spend more time on it but otherwise it was great!
As far as the water. The seasalt is a good idea, but for flavoring I also recently rediscovered mint. I have done this 2 ways. 1 – making a tea from fresh mint then cooling it off or 2 – crushing up mint leaves and adding to water. I did this over the weekend, my friends were all like ‘you know you have leaves in your water?’ but when I let them taste or smell it they all wanted some.

Hi Kevin,
Interesting about the Harvard doctors. T Colin Campbell hinted there was a lot of this going on in his book, The China Study.
Loved the micromachine guy’s little cars!! And I also love the format of answering questions.. fast and furious. It gets the job done and everyone wins.
About the hair.. you look just like my little brother and his hair is curly too when it gets humid. Actually it is a family trait passed to us from my dad. When my brother was young, everyone loved his curly little blonde locks. I think you look great in both, short or long. It’s just a matter of what keeps you cooler in the summer. You could always wear it short in summer and long in winter.. or vice versa. That way you get a bit of variety. Or not.. What does Annmarie think?

Thanks for answering my water question at such great length! I shall see what trickery I can use to sneak more fluids to his poor kidneys
I despair sometimes but refuse to nag. I’m just gonna be a great example instead!

Kevin, I’ve follwed your program from its beginning and always read all the comments as well, this is my first time sending in a response. As for the haircut, if its getting difficult to care for in the heat and humidity, by all means cut, the beauty of it is that it will soon grow back! Your rapid fire question answering on program is a good idea, as I’m sure most of us are interested in each others questions, comments, and ideas as well. In response to favorite ways to keep cool in the heat, mine is to take an early morning swim! I live in Aqaba, Jordan on the Red Sea and for anyone able to try this idea, a swim after sunrise will leave you cool and refreshed for the better part of the day. Kevin, can you give us some info on wheatgrass, it grows better for me inside the house without soil, but always gets mold, how can I avoid the mold or is it even a problem, also how can I get the most benefit from the wheatgrass without buying (not available here) a special juicer. I have a blender, food processor and a Braun centrifugal juicer. Many thanks for any info and for your enthusiasm for what you do. Excellent program.

Hello Kevin, If it wasn’t so pathetic it would be rip-roaring hilarious. After working in the medical field for many years, making personal observations, I found it amazing how often how often both children and adults under psychiatric care became improved enough to release them from care at the same time their insurance or other care ran out. I agree with the fellow who said that we’ve had l00 years of psychiatric treatment and we’re still crazy.
I also remember the veteran, who was on the maximum daily dose of thorazine, and overdosed
on it 3 times within 2 months time. The psychiatrist who renewed his max dose prescription the second time was the same one on call for the third suicide attempt. It got renewed again.
When I was working on my nursing degree, we were told that there was no evidence that patients who were treated with psychoanalysis
were any healthier mentally 6 months after therapy, than those treated by a witch doctor.
I think it is probably more true today, because back then they were saying 1 out of 10 people on the street; now it has been changed to 1 out of 3 people on the street need psychiatric care. Maybe we should update that fellows remark to “After l00+ years of psychotherapy, we’re crazier than before treatment”.
Another eyeopener was a remark by a counselor in the mental health field, that a person who had cold-turkeyed himself off of alcohol & street drugs a couple of years later still needed detox to get the residual poisons out of his system. When I was asked my opinion on this, it was “Bull…., he isn’t likely to have any residual poisons in his system and he is not as likely to backslide as someone who went through detox. My opinion also was that he would probably benefit more from some vitamins and minerals that probably were depleted during his abusive years, than he would from going through a detox.” I am happy to report this was l0 or more years ago and he still hasn’t backslid without that recommended detox.

I also have curly hair (dark brown with a Touch of Grey — hey, I am almost 47 years of age), And I’ve been debating the haircut thing myself over the past few weeks. I broke down and got one last week. My exercise of choice is outdoor running and it’s been getting hot out there even at 6 A.M. Maybe I’ll Let it Grow after the summer.
As for you, Kevin, I vote NO Haircut! But be sure to check with Ann Marie.

Hair is a very personal thing. I don’t like curly hair, partly because mine is more fuzzy than curly, but mostly because it just isn’t ME. It doesn’t fit my personal style or look good with my face. I wear it long, layered, and straightened. And I love it that way.
Since you’re asking, instead of just doing what you want, I assume you’re considering a change, possibly something you’ve never done before. If that’s the case – you already know what it looks like shorter – why not let it grow? Maybe you’ll like it long. I wouldn’t care much for it that way, but it’s your hair, and should reflect your personality and preferences. Like some have said, if you cut it, it will always grow back, it works the other way too. If you don’t like it longer, you can cut it later.

Let the ‘fro grow!

Hey, I wanted to thank you both for such a great web site! Now about your hair, well, if you are going for that soccer player look I say keep it but on the other hand you look really good with short hair! I know I’m not much help:( The best thing is to ask your wife what she likes!!!!
Thanks again!
10:17 pm on June 11th, 2008
Kevin I would love for your hair to be long and curly!! I just don’t like the in-between stage. Does anyone have any suggestions on a natural hair product that will keep his fro down???
9:05 am on June 12th, 2008
Love the curls, but don’t grow a “FRO”. Stacy

Hey Kev! I am all for the quick questions. And here is one: When you travel, what do you use on the go, to filter your water? I am going to Florida and I hear the Chlorine is pretty strong.
As for your hair, go short while it is so hot..it feels better. It will grow back.
9:03 pm on June 12th, 2008
I like the curls but you have good ears so you could go either way

Let your blond locks grow long. In the heat you can put it in an elastic.
You can use natural hair conditioner to tame a fro.. The after shampoo kind, you just put on a bit after a shower…and don’t rinse, says my hairdresser.

funny you should ask that question, I was just thinking, I need to send him a msg to tell him how great his hair looks, so there you go, no haircut!
Thanks for your information and enthusiasm!
